The Longest Thread (Misadventures)

...on acid. The acid burned their shoes, so they went to the conveniently nearby cobbler.

Fleet passed them when they tripped because he kept running.

The cobbler they went to was Ym.

He was dead, though, so they couldn't get new shoes.

Butt and Lift were both sad.

They became friends over this mutual sadness, making Butt a much better person.

Because of this they forgot about running or dualing.  (However, off in the distance Fleet kept running.)

Fleet found a way to run to Yolen.

but of course he didn't stay there to learn any secerts, because he kept running.

Finally, Fleet reached Shinovar, where he collapsed and subsequently died of exhaustion. Poor Fleet...

But he kept running anyway. He had died before, after all, and survived that. He still lost the race, though, Cause the destination was the dead cobbler, Ym, and he ran past it.

Butt and Lift were arguing about who had got to Ym’s place first.  Lift was certian she had won, but Butt said that since he held two shards that he must have won.

So, to prove his point, Butt turned into his chosen avatar to express his dominance. The omnipotent orange creamsicle of endless doom.

Lift thought about eating Butt, but she decided against it, because she was now friends with Butt.

And then they found out that they had traveled back in time, creating a branching path of reality, in which all that universe exploding stuff happened. And so, since explosions are boring, we return to the main stream of reality, where they are both eating fruit tarts, sipping tea, and sitting by a large fire while reading large fantasy novels.

And Butt is still an orange creamsicle.

Butt and Lift were quite enjoying themselves, until the front door burst open, and a black clad figure walked in.

The black clad figure happened to be Tightbutt.

Lift gazed from his face downward, until her eyes settled upon his battle-hardened booty. “Sup Tightbutt, whatcha been up to?”

“Hello, Lift. I told you that’s not my . . .” Tightbutt said.

Butt intrupted by bellowing, “Wait, his name is Tightbutt?  That’s not fair!  My name is only Butt.  I’m the shard.  I should have the longer name.”

So Butt immediately stood and left, starting his quest to attain a middle name.

The middle name he wanted to obtain was Schneeze. He liked puns.

On his quest he visited his cousin, Addie. She went by Ad, and loved exploring. If anyone could help him find his middle name, he figured, it would be Ad Venture.

I’m not sorry.

So they ventured/adventured out in search for how Butt could get a middle name. Turns out they just needed to see a prelan of the Canton of Orthodoxy to get it done. But the problem was that all the prelans are now dead.
