A truce until some pressing matters are taken care of.” Rebus paused. “If you know a Narrator, why do you need to mine this planet?” - Rebus smiled, glad the hole in the side hadn’t caused problems. - Rebus looked into Rebyl’s eyes, and she could see tears within his. - Rebus, standing at the end of the gangplank, waved them forwards. - Not alone. Not anymore. - Reveal hidden contents Would you care to remind me what happened to the Author-Killing Blade? Rebus - or rather the as-of-yet unnamed clone of him - stabbed the syringe into his hand, right in the center of the burn scar. Nothing happened, of course. - Rebus nodded. “Good. We’re going to need a weapon against the Witherlord - Mordite won’t work on him.” Rebus saluted back, smiling. Jack snapped away, reappearing in Kimo as requested. Jack also blinked. “Wait, deities? Shouldn’t we be trying to give one, then?” I may or may not be deflecting the question because I haven’t thought of a name yet… - The clone cried out, his nanomachines - themselves succumbing to corruption - disabling pain receptors and weaving Mordite into flesh at a molecular level. Rebus had done this before, after all - though it hadn’t been with Chaotic Darkness. The clone fell to his knees, Mordite perforating every available surface. Atlas having disappeared, Rebus stood alone before the Witherlord. This was not a situation he wished to be in. “Eventually?” He sounded almost sheepish. “I would rather like to avoid the Thread’s destruction, considering I live here.” - @Aeoryi One mysterious bargain later, Rebus stepped out from the back of the workshop. He seemed less vibrant than usual - eyes devoid of reflection, no sign of residual Narration. He was, however, still smiling. “Hello, Ribbon. My condolences about your passing.” “It would be very difficult. Narrators, specifically are not allowed out due to the problems that would result - though your home would be one of the most compatible.” Rebus… nodded. “Yes. Until the Witherlord has been defeated, you may very well need the Blade. We can wait.” Another man, also in a mask and longcoat, appeared nearby with a muffled crack. This wasn’t entirely where he wanted to be, but I had been enough. This new strange man watched the first one, waiting to see if he was noticed. And then Rebus appeared, Narrationblade in hand, coat fluttering as he stepped between Atlas and Fog. The sword wasn’t the only weapon he’d brought - nanomachines absolutely filled the air. “Mordite is a tool, Fog. It’s deadly-” a figure materialized next to Rebus, visible for only a moment before the sonic boom- “but there are other options.” I’ll leave a moment for Fog to respond before the hypersonic robot hits her. @Keke 15 hours ago, Keke said: "no" she whimpered. Cyrus sighed. "I hate him, and we are enemies thats why." - Levi paused next to rebus while Trevor ran to get things set up. All he did was pat his shoulder, which for Levi was a thanks. - Rebyl looked at the ship and then the wjtherlord and then her and rebus appear jn the middle of the ship and she almost passes out. - well now she was alone facing a maniac so.... T.T - Oooh erryin has that now. theoretically it should get rid of any mordite poisoning and overall its like a anti fatigue thing. - Dax nodded. "What about nullite?" *teehee* its all coming together the second he was there he sprinted through the halls and ran into kyo, cadywin and ryver. He motioned for them to follow and stopped at the main lab shoving his way inside and grabbing the intercom device. "Attention everyone. This is jack speaking. I need anyone who is willing to fight, and pobabky die, to meet at the amphitheater. Also this goes to any of the leviathans who are listening. Its time to remake our legend."@KnightSkye Reforged - @edgyswordname Okay so yiu kept tagging me bt a character going to heaven. Just wanna ask a few things in a pm okay? 10 hours ago, DragonHeir said: Rebus scoffed. “Why would I try to contain the Witherlord? I am - in some ways at least - your opposite.” “Bravery would play no part in it - a Narrator could vaporize you with a snap of their fingers, if nothing protected you. A lack of ruthlessness, however, might be the trait you claim is cowardice - or it might simply be lack of interest.” - Rebus smiled - relieved, intrigued, and unexpectedly proud. He put a hand on “his” daughter’s shoulder, replenishing her strength with a bit of Narration. - With a screech of metal and another sonic boom, a shower of sparks and rock erupted from the ground perhaps ten feet over from Fog. The blur of movement - evidently having turned - was now heading directly towards the corrupted Narrator, still supersonic and nearly impossible to see. @Through The Living Glass, my supersonic robot is very slowly trying to kill you. - “Nullite might be able to protect us, or even briefly contain the Witherlord.” Rebus nodded thoughtfully. “But this person is almost certainly helpful. Nullite is Ordered Darkness, while Prismite is Chaotic Light. Between the two...” he smiled, “we should have techniques that work on all the Essences.” - Rebus continued to watch this, trying to remember if these people had been seen before. - The clone laughed, and corrupted utility fog exploded from him, slamming into the wall. “You do not need to tell Dark Cep, but I would say I benefit from the imprisonment.” Rebus smiled. “As for Luxite, the easiest source of it is now unequivocally out of reach. It can be extracted from the Thread, but that takes an incredibly long time - the only practical method would be a quest.” Speaking of information, I really should write more of those vision flashbacks… “Ah. I suspected as much.” Rebus smiled, returning the bow with a nod. “Hiding from Narrators or Authors is a near-impossible task. The Witherlord, however, may have no capacity to perceive the Thread - if that’s the case, avoiding spies may be enough to conceal you completely.” “The simplest would be to stop being a Narrator - if you need me to speak with someone in BFtS, I can send an intermediary with an emulation of my personality.” Fog simply vanished and appeared behind Rebus in an instant, Blade thrust towards his chest from very nearly an inch away. 9 hours ago, NameIess said: Walls of Nullite shall not hold you. The Witherlord’s voice spoke. not when they are but walls. Strike not at them, but reality itself. — That there were three Rebus cared for would have been news to the Witherlord, though given how protective Rebus was being of Atlas, it would not be difficult to guess the third. — The Dreamsmith smiled as he worked, noticing Rebus’s look of interest. “A Luxite amulet, a shield from all darkness.” — “I… do not.” Lyric said nervously. By the sprites, he could still hear the tone! Distant was its source, but to hear the tone of darkness at such distance, that source must be terrible indeed. “Perhaps a song?” He asked, though for once he did not much feel like singing. The Witherlord counted the other three there. Magenta, center, and the new guardian he had not met. “I take it I am included in the four?” He reached to his back and slowly drew Malevolence from its sheath, wondering what the Plotblade’s name truly was. Plagues, perhaps? Unknowable seemed too obvious. Eldritch gods perhaps. oo . . . 'Sup dudes Sorry I was gone for so long lol Edited February 22 by Through The Living Glass

He stalks the room, sniffing for some odd reason. It makes it far easier to stall.” Egis raises her eyebrows at 9/10. As Sanguine passes through the rift, he would find himself in the exact same cave, though on the opposite side.
TwinStorm He/Him Posted February 23 Posted February 23 2 hours ago, NameIess said: The Dreamsmith nodded. "The contents of that letter should not be secret. The Witherlord knows my plan, at least well enough to take any countermeasures he can." He opened his mouth and... The Dreamsmith told Rebus what the letter said. The Dreamsmith frowned. "That was... odd. Did you get that?" The Dreamsmith repeated what he'd said. "Curse it all! Listen carefully. My plan is simple, though carrying it out will be enormously difficult..." The Dreamsmith told Rebus the secret to defeating the Witherlord, speaking loudly and slowly. The Dreamsmith's eyes flared with anger, but he did not bother repeating himself again. "It seems my Author will not allow the contents of that letter to be revealed. Storm him. I knew he'd planned for events to play out differently, but... I see now that he's unwilling to let go of the Witherlord too soon. Deliver that letter, Rebus. And... if Onyx cannot be found, then try to read it yourself. Perhaps my Author will relent." Lyric regained some of his cheerful composure as they walked. Though he hadn't felt like singing, doing so with his friend, walking under a clear blue sky, returned to him some measure of calm, despite the tone still reverberating through the Thread. By the time they were near their destination, he could almost have called himself happy. Then he saw the temple. Did the Withergeists succeed in stealing Plotblades from the temple/High Priest of Plot? That was the Witherlord's original goal in attacking them, to claim a Plotblade to give the Guardians of Plot. As soon as Lyric saw the temple's ruins, he knew what forces had struck it. Listening closely, he could hear the manyfold tune of destruction left in the wake of darkness. Memories flashed through his mind, of destruction, of terror, of death. The song of the withergeists in the night. Lyric's eyes passed over the man among the ruins, but saw him not. His mind was elsewhere, in times long distant. Screams in the night. Dark shapes clawing at crystalline light. Black wounds rotting, men dead while alive, doomed to join the throng of darkness. The song, that terrible tune, proclaiming terror, fear, death. And another song, rising to meet it. The song of- Lyric's mind recoiled. His legs failed him and he fell to the ground with a cry of terror. His head struck a rock as he fell, and all went black. Did Magenta self-sacrifice to kill the dark monster the Witherlord left behind? no unfortunately, they were driven off, however Zealot is gone from the temple (see blog in a few days) The man glanced up at Lyric. "Please, sir." he pleaded. "Do you know where my son is?"
