“I’m not sure” she said. “You were right about back home, everywhere is better than there, I might try to stick around for a little bit, because this knife is sick” she twirls the dagger in her hand. “Besides so far I’ve had no worse experiences here than I’ve had back home so surely it’s not too bad”

Inkwell is still irritated by the functionality of the knife. She is so unfazed… The cocoa starts bubbling softly at the edges, so he gets up and pours into a few mugs before the milk can separate.

Eden raises her withered, blackened claw of a hand. “How is this better than where you came from? Girl, which pit of hell did you drag yourself out of?”

Rebus smiled, glad the hole in the side hadn’t caused problems.

Rebus looked into Rebyl’s eyes, and she could see tears within his.

Rebus, standing at the end of the gangplank, waved them forwards.

Not alone. Not anymore.

Would you care to remind me what happened to the Author-Killing Blade?

Rebus - or rather the as-of-yet unnamed clone of him - stabbed the syringe into his hand, right in the center of the burn scar. Nothing happened, of course.
-

Rebus nodded. “Good. We’re going to need a weapon against the Witherlord - Mordite won’t work on him.”

Rebus saluted back, smiling. Jack snapped away, reappearing in Kimo as requested.

Cyrus sighed. "I hate him, and we are enemies thats why."

-

Levi paused next to rebus while Trevor ran to get things set up. All he did was pat his shoulder, which for Levi was a thanks.

Rebyl looked at the ship and then the wjtherlord and then her and rebus appear jn the middle of the ship and she almost passes out.

theoretically it should get rid of any mordite poisoning and overall its like a anti fatigue thing.

Dax nodded. "What about nullite?"

*teehee* its all coming together 😇

the second he was there he sprinted through the halls and ran into kyo, cadywin and ryver. Jack also blinked. “Wait, deities? Shouldn’t we be trying to give one, then?”

"Find one, you mean? I don't think they generally speak to mortals." Lyric pointed out. "Although this high priest of Plot probably speaks to his deity. And presumably he'll speak to us, so it's practically the same thing! Shall we be on our way?"

The clone cried out, his nanomachines - themselves succumbing to corruption - disabling pain receptors and weaving Mordite into flesh at a molecular level. Rebus had done this before, after all - though it hadn’t been with Chaotic Darkness. The clone fell to his knees, Mordite perforating every available surface.

The pain continued despite the disabled pain receptors, resonating from the clone's soul as it was corrupted, changed. The Mordite spikes jutted further from his flesh, then retracted beneath his skin. The corruption finishing its course, the pain finally faded, though it did not entirely vanish.

The clone could feel the Mordite beneath his skin, ready to come forth at his call. The transformation was complete.

Atlas having disappeared, Rebus stood alone before the Witherlord. This was not a situation he wished to be in. “Eventually?” He sounded almost sheepish. “I would rather like to avoid the Thread’s destruction, considering I live here.”

"Good." The Witherlord said as he left. "I look forward to breaking you and destroying everything... and everyone you care about."

"We aren't offering anything!" Magenta snarled.

Center, for once, didn't interrupt Magenta's outburst. Instead, he simply stared at Charnaster, whose dazzling wings were covering his animal form.

"We did not expect your arrival, this soon." Center said, trying to alleviate the tension in the room.

Charnaster flapped his wings, bringing an intense winter wind into the room. "You should've known, Center." He spoke in a soft, echoed tone, "That I would always betray you. And you know why I can get away with it?"

No one spoke for what felt like an eternity. Charnaster adjusted his wings, then continued. "Plotblades are stronger now. They have new, stronger, forms."

A small dusty locust landed on the tip of one of Charnaster's wings.

"This is why I brought all of you here." He said, his voice ricocheting off of the walls. "I will show you the true power of a Plotblade, and destroy all four of you with it!"

More locusts started to flood in, carrying vast amounts of dust with them. A great storm started to brew above them, with small little locusts resembling jaws of dart dragons gathering in immense numbers.

Walls of Nullite shall not hold you. The Witherlord’s voice spoke. not when they are but walls. Strike not at them, but reality itself.

That there were three Rebus cared for would have been news to the Witherlord, though given how protective Rebus was being of Atlas, it would not be difficult to guess the third.

The Dreamsmith smiled as he worked, noticing Rebus’s look of interest. “A Luxite amulet, a shield from all darkness.”

“I… do not.” Lyric said nervously. By the sprites, he could still hear the tone! Distant was its source, but to hear the tone of darkness at such distance, that source must be terrible indeed.

“Perhaps a song?” He asked, though for once he did not much feel like singing.

Ribbon bowed her head in respect to him. "I am fully capable of return at any point," she said, "but there are advantages to being... a tenacious soul."

She stood up. "Rebus, I need you to train me to protect myself from being detected by the Witherlord."

The Witherlord counted the other three there. Magenta, center, and the new guardian he had not met. “I take it I am included in the four?” He reached to his back and slowly drew Malevolence from its sheath, wondering what the Plotblade’s name truly was. Plagues, perhaps? Unknowable seemed too obvious. Eldritch gods perhaps.

"Of course," Charnaster grinned, teeth sharp as daggers. "I would never not invite the most powerful villain of all time in the thread here."

The locusts gathered together behind Charnaster, forming a massive cyclone, which then sprouted wings and a massive shifting face. Charnaster fluttered his massive wings, joining the dust storm in the skies, but shining amongst them as if he was an uninvited star in a daytime hurricane.

"And now it is finally time to unleash what should've claimed the entire thread a long, long, time ago." He motioned, and then the entire storm's wrath slammed forth.

---

Center braced himself against the furious winds by raising his armed gauntlet up in front of his face, but he ultimately could not help but feel like he was being flayed alive. Locusts and sharp bits whirred past him, whipping him with a raging fury. His entire stance staggered, and he suddenly was threatened to be swept away by the force.

He glanced over at Magenta. The little draconic skull had a barrier of lightning  formed around his entire body, but it was faltering as the electricity deflected darting locusts.

As for the third guardian, Caltrevas, he was already gone, wiped away like a bug smeared against a glass pane.

Not even the plot could've prepared me for this, Center thought, perhaps the Plot was not as strong as we thought.

Ah. I suspected as much.” Rebus smiled, returning the bow with a nod. “Hiding from Narrators or Authors is a near-impossible task. The Witherlord, however, may have no capacity to perceive the Thread - if that’s the case, avoiding spies may be enough to conceal you completely

"The Witherlord has been shown to have a somewhat moderate sense of events in the thread," Ribbon responded, "But I agree with your assessment that his pawns make him virtually omnipresent. Regardless, I need your help with shielding my mind."

The Witherlord faced the storm unperturbed. From his blade emanated an aura of darkness, consuming the locusts that would have otherwise struck him.

Calm despite the raging winds whipping at his essence, he continued to consider the Plotblade’s identity. Chaos was a promising possibility. Though it would hardly be a Plotblade. A Chaosblade, then? But, so far as he knew, Chaos still lived. Far weaker than in times past, but living nonetheless.

Well, the only one who could give definitive answers was Charnaster. And so the Witherlord raised his sword, pointing it towards the shining point of light amidst the maelstrom. A web of darkness launched forth, burning through locusts and winds alike as it hurtled towards the maddened being.

"No, what I'm thinking is - if the Thread gets destroyed, you leave. Can you regain Narration in Battle for the Sandwich?"

“I’ve considered it, and it is a valid plan. Unfortunately, if I can do that, the Witherlord can follow me. Admittedly, once one hits a critical mass of randomness even an unstoppable force of destruction becomes rather ineffectual, but if the Sandwich is somehow destroyed your universe might simply cease to exist.”

He huffed. “My brother is weak and useless. I have surpassed him in every way possible.” He said angeryly.

-

she blinked a few times and looked at the ship then him then the ship. “How did i.. we huh?”

-

atlas sat on the ground.

-

he nodded. “Prismite, im not good at that one, ive gotten mordite down, i know someone who has nullite but…” he wrung his hands “i know another person who is a narrator that would willingly let us take his narration that is if it is able to keep him alive.”

-

he hadnt and i as a author realize I haven’t educated heir on lore for this yet so i should proably do that yeah?

-

it did nothing cause the walls were nullite.

“Are you a Narrator, then?” Rebus asked, voice mockingly sweet.
-

Rebus grinned. “You’ve got powers, Rebyl.”

-

Atlas was evidently supersonic, since it had been a mere instant. Such was the power of Narration, of course.
-

Rebus smiled. “I can do Prismite. With our combined expertise and the power from your friend, I think we can make something worthwhile.”
-

Rebus suddenly knew things. Quite interesting things, in fact.
-

Even Nullite was not invincible - for if it was, nobody could make anything from it. Still, the clone followed the instructions of his ruler. Power gathered around his fist, and he punched the wall - except it wasn’t only the wall he hit. Reality cracked, space - and by extension the wall - shattering. The clone dissolved into Mordite and nanomachines, flowing through the gap and reforming outside.

9/10mmHB#2 laughs. “Buddy. We’re both minor antagonists with questionably evil intentions. We both have wanted him-“ he pointed at Inkwell- “Dead at some point, and we’re both interested in obtaining lux- actually forget I said that. But what else do you call forcing Malevolence to take up Redemption?” He pours a mug of hot chocolate for Rebus.

“I take some offense to minor, though I have ceded overt antagonism in light of the Witherlord situation.” Rebus took the beverage, though he neither needed sustenance nor was capable of actually tasting. “Malevolence holding Redemption may actually have been what allowed him to complete the ritual.”

The clone understood. There was Mordite where Prismite had once been; new powers that could be tapped into much the same way his Narration had.
-

The count could differ depending upon what one considered to be care, of course. The Witherlord was, however, on the right track.

-

Rebus nodded. “That will be of use.”
-

Jack was worried because Lyric seemed worried, though he couldn’t tell why. Still, maybe these priests of Plot could help. “If that will help,” he said. He resolved to sing along with Lyric - the man seemed to need it.

“I would argue the threat has not yet been brought to bear - and it has managed to stir engagement, since nearly every extent plot now involves him in some way.” Rebus sighed. “I can teach you the proper procedure - your magic will make it simpler than it otherwise would be.”

"The Sandwich... destroyed?" Renamed shivered. "How could that happen? It would survive Vacuum Decay itself."

There's something ironic about calling Chaos, the admin of the site, weak :P

Charnaster was initially caught off guard from the web, being tangled right up in it. Right now he was Light. That would not do. He started to shed his wings, letting them evaporate into the air.

Dark armor donned Charnaster as he transformed into his Dark Form, with long streaming tendrils of nebula materializing off of his body. Spikes of void-like material formed as Charnaster's body became a proper, four legged dragon.

He let out a howl, and then landed directly across from the Witherlord, staring directly into him.

Charnaster-Dark is themed around this fellow, kinda

 @Aeoryi

“You need to start by observing when you aren’t concealed. Can you sense the Thread?”
