Rebus raised an eyebrow, but couldn't exactly move to avoid it.

-

Rebus said the coordinates to his universe collider. If Rebyl looked closely, she could see what seemed be a burn scar creeping up his right forearm.

-

Wither-Rebus ducked, sprouting an arm to tap the side of the robot's blade. The Mordite sluggishly began to reshape itself, its edge dulling.

-

"I do." Rebus nodded. Then he grinned at Kyler. "I'm a Narrator - being in only one place would be a bit of a waste."

“IM going to test an experiment where i make all your clones come together and kill them.”

-

she punched them in and then hesitates grabbing his hand and rolling up his sleeve. “Father whats this?”

-

three more robots come with sheilds and attack him blocking his with sheilds.

-

Dax sighed muttering “oh this is gonna be awkward.” As Kyler lead them to the main complex.

Most of Rebus's nanomachines short-circuited. It wasn't too much of a problems - that honor belonged to the robot.

"Uh oh." Rebus said. And then the whole world turned to light.

Atlas forms a sheild around her and rebus.

An acolyte at the Temple of Plot suddenly stands up. His wounds healing, mordite poisoning retreating, he begins searching for anyone who will listen. Something has come upon him… someone must know.
Quest! Available to anyone! Cool rewards! Debatably!

Still open!

Interesting. Ok, those are gonna sit in Rebus's Mindscape for a while—I suspect they may come in handy.

Asharak frowned. "That bodes well...what is it?"

Can't find the post - once I do this shall continue.

Rebus smiled, holding up a medallion in the shape of a four-pointed star. "This is Nameless's Essence Converter. It can make us Luxite."

Jack pointed to Lyric, who had just fallen unconscious and dropped to the floor. "I know - I'll help you if you help him."

Rebus laughed. "'I'm going to test a thing where I kill you' is not something I'd recommend saying to the subject. Regardless, it is nearly impossible for you to do that. You'd need to be a master metaphysicist specializing in Prismite."

-

Rebus cocked his head at his arm. "A sign, I think. Symbolism matters more, when it comes to me." He shrugged. "Anyway, we should get out of here and start trying to get you home."

-

Wither-Rebus jumped into the air, growing extra limbs with Mordite claws to latch onto the ceiling, out of reach for at least a moment.

-

Rebus handed Kyler a pen, styled in his trademark black and white. "Click this three times if you need me." He said quietly. Then he continued walking.

-

That was good - unshielded antimatter explosions were a bit of a problem.

Inkwell checks Shadowlight in his pocket. Finally, it seems to have refilled. Mostly. As 9/10mmHB#2 abruptly leaves the room through a rift, Inkwell shoves Rebus out through it. “…and that’s enough of secondary antagonists visiting my house uninvited,” he says to Rebus. He finishes off his cocoa. A letter made of stardust floats to his feet, and a starhawk swoops in after it, landing on the top of the open door. He gets up from the chair, picks it up, checking the label, and hands it to Isabel. “It’s for you,” he says, then yawns and stretches. “Well, that’s enough rest. I’m sure there’s some plot thread out there I’m willing to chase.” Inside, he just wants to get away from Eden, and the guilt. The starhawk hops down from the door onto his shoulder, and gives an encouraging screech. “Okay. Wherever the omniscient space narrator wants me to go, I’ll go,” he says. Then the air warps around them both, and he is gone.
——

Eden looks at Isabel, holding the letter from Night. “Look, I don’t want to force you to do anything, but if someone’s pulling your strings? Don’t listen to them. Don’t let anyone tell you what to do, no matter what treasure they promise you. They’re just using you, and you’ll be hurt in the end.” She holds up her blackened, withered left hand as evidence. @Honors Ghost

Sanguine realizes he has been standing still for quite some time now, and would paint an awkward scene if the Author could actually visualize the fight instead of simply reacting. Oh well. “Will you simply still so I can kill you!?” he yells, lunging at her, claws outstretched.

“If that’s what you want,” she shrugs, and lowers her blade.

He is completely confused and manages to counter himself, expecting her to dodge at the last second and adjusting in turn, but completely missing her in the process.

Egis actually intentionally teleports herself in the way of his attack. The one spectating looks like she is struggling to contain her laughter.

@edgyswordname, would your character notice Jack and co wandering around? Though I suppose a four-person plot might stall out instantly.

"Are you willing to pay the price?" whispered the wind. Rebus was.

"Not her, and not me. Anything else, I will do it." With those words, Rebus saved his closest friend and doomed the world.

-

"That is what I intend to learn." Rebus said. "It took one of the last significant pieces of Luxite to craft, as well as Prismite, Mordite, and Nullite - they're bonded together, but I think each point is affiliated with one."

Rebus shrugged. "It was before my time - they somehow froze him in place, I believe? That was before the banishing. No matter how it was done, it required powerful Ordered Light entities nowhere to be found in our current era."

@DragonHeirwho? I have several, none of which are doing really anything right now, except Sanguine and Eden.

The person offering the quest is at the Temple of Plot; Jack and Lyric just showed up there.

Ah. Um, Iromem is a side character or NPC sort of,  a one shot idea I have for this plot device I’m giving out, so I wouldn’t have him interfere with any existing plot lines. But if they’re seeking him out, yes.

"I would say that this has little to do with the mechanics of the Essences." Rebus shrugged. "I think I just need to touch the corresponding part of the amulet to it."

Lyric is guiding Jack, who wants to find someone who knows the meaning of life. They're currently looking for a priest of Plot, so Iromem might very well qualify.

She winces and blood spatters the stone messily. She manages to stumble backwards a few steps before collapsing; the whole process seems somehow overly gory and dramatic. “Feel all better now?” the watching Egis mocks.

I don’t know insane amounts of lore about the Temple of Plot, I’m making this up as I go. Iromem is a low level acolyte who has lived there all his life and has always wanted to be blessed by Plot. He’s not particularly high ranking, got absolutely slaughtered by the withergeist raid, and has been revived from near death by a mysterious force, a force which is imparting on him an intense desire to tell anyone something. This something would start a short and confusing plot thread with treasure at the end. At least that’s what I have planned.
if jack, lyric and company have another plot thread going on, Iromem won’t notice them.

Their plot is "wander around aimlessly until we find someone wise" - you'd be adding on to it, not interrupting. Still, if you think it should be someone else, I have another character for you...

"Very well." Asharak pauses. "He is...frozen. Held up. Author delays have stalled his path, though it should continue soon. I hope it does for our sakes. We will need what is to come..." He trails off. "Essentially, he's stuck in a Mindscape not his own."

Sanguine does not think. He does not feel. He kills. But this time, as he raises a blade for a killing blow, a force presses down on him. Resisting leaves him in a state of helpless agony, a sensation completely foreign to him.
You should never have put yourself into the power of an Author, Sanguine, an ethereal voice whispers from the heavens, despite the fact they are in a cave. If you will not feel, he will feel for you, and if you will not show mercy, he will show mercy for you. He will not allow you to destroy this creation, not on his conscience.
The force relented. Sanguine stumbled forwards. Staring. Then, without a word, he sampled the pool of blood on the floor. Narrator’s blood. He incorporated it into his form, then with a dismissive snort, he vanished, passing through a rift to somewhere else.

in that case…

Iromem stumbles forward. Survivors. Of… what? The destruction was too terrible, the screams of the still living mingling with the horrible cries of withergeists in the distance, and the crackling of black fires in the ruins of what seemed to have been a temple. He had to speak to them. They had to know.
