@Ashkaloda @Hawks does this fix some of our stagnation? And @CoderDrag0n8 does this lead to the Door-Way yet?

Um

I think the one plot is waiting on... uh actually who are we waiting on? Nameless?

My other plot is waiting on Benji

See I'm pretty sure the "get the Pages" plot needs Twinstorm rn.

Sooo no?

they uh didnt seem responsive. Their body slumped and their head fell. Their eyes had stayed open but lost all color. Something was wrong. Rebus could probably sense that.

“Hm alright. So your quest is to find your Tam and then what? Have a sweet reunion?”      Said almost mockingly.”

Rebus looked down, almost ambivalent about their fate. Still, he should probably do something. Rebus tilted his head, pretending to need time to think, then grinned. Machines coalesced around Erryin, and they lifted into the air within them, still unconscious. Rebus nodded, satisfied, and vanished, leaving the Prismite extractor to begin its work.
Not-Bat looked down at his feet. “I… don’t know. I don’t know where she is, and I’m worried about her.”

What are you calling the corruption beacon? The Lezterp thing?

Yeah - the machine Lezterp had been making a while ago. I assume it has an actual name, and maybe another function other than corrupt the Thread, but I know neither.

It begins

Oh, and Mischief isn’t dead, only shape shifting into a key. She can change back whenever she pleases.

The room was dark and majestic. It was reminiscent of an evil… cathedral, almost.

Along the length of the carpet leading to the throne lay the strewn remains of long dead warriors, reduced to mere skeletons now. Three thrones sat at the end of the chamber. A skeleton occupied each one. In the largest, golden throne, a skeleton clad in armor of the same material sat, regally watching over the hall. His right hand held a battle axe while the other held a scroll. In the two silver thrones, two other skeletons watched. The first had a black cloak covering leather armor. Both were shredded to pieces along the right side, with the sleeve and arm up to the shoulder missing. It held a curved, double-bladed dagger (@Ancient Elantrian). The other seemed… off. Like it shouldn’t belong (@KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren never described it cuz I forgot to ask).

There was just something Rebus couldn’t place about it.

And then in synch, all the eyes glowed a blazing red and the skeletons clattered to like. Axzi spoke.

They are the Fallen Heroes. They tried to do what you are doing now. You could merely kill them all, or you could do one better. If exposed to the Bane of the Horror that killed them they will return to their previous states. This could be an opportunity to gain a legion of new allies.

The sprite vibrated in Rebus’ hand.

Ok guys, the plan is go. Attack. Use all your abilities. Don’t go down without a fight.

13 hours ago, Ancient Elantrian said:

The first skeleton stood, dagger in hand. He stalked a circle around Rebus, studying him.

Rebus strode into the room, the seams in his armor slightly illuminating the ground around him with their purple glow. Antagonist was once again a crown, quenching any light around it.
He inspected the skeletons, prepared for any possible attacks. Identifying the correct Bane would be difficult - a number of the Horrors could have caused the lost arm.

"So... we're just grabbin' a quest or somethin'? Slayin' some dragon?" He shrugged.

“I’m sincere, though I wouldn’t trust me - I’m probably using me to trick you.” The-man-who-looked-like-Rebus (tmwllR) frowned. “And regardless, there’s some plot convenience and Narration being applied to my empire - if I tried to get rid of the real Rebus, without Narration or Antagonist the whole thing would fall apart to grey goo and bureaucracy issues in mere days.”
“That’s the explanation I’ve gotten, though I still believe it to be the case that the cracks that sometimes let in withergiests are unlikely to be anywhere near the Witherlord.”

Rebus, who was in a similar situation himself, frowned. “We need some new engagement - to make MtG and Silksong a less interesting prospect than the Thread. That may unfortunately require new characters.”

I’m sorry about that - we’ll see if I can be on more in the near future.

“Oh.” The priest considered this new information. “So you’re not Rebus, but a version of him created to be genuinely regretful? In that case, join our rebellion and help us overthrow Rebus.”

-

Editor Nameless nodded. “True. The Witherlord is deep within the void, impossible to locate. It is highly unlikely he will return on his own.”

-

“Perhaps. You know, my Author has found it quite difficult to be in a central position as you are. If you wish to hold his attention, make certain he does not burn himself out.”

Prismite is the essence of Chaotic Light, associated with Narration. Pretty sure it's what makes up a Narrator's core.

This board was a task board way back when that held to-do's for at least some Enullers. "Hello? We need... we need help."

A shadowy figure appeared by the sign. “What do you want?”

Rebus smiled. “Good, then. This next portion might be dangerous - the interference could cause a fairly drastic shift in where we appear, so we might end up in the ocean. Though that’s survivable, we’ll still probably want something like a diving helmet.”
If and when these were conjured or improvised, he continued. “The last thing you’ll want to remember is that once we get there, it’s important not to think too much until we find somewhere to stand. Consciousness and magic are similar, and will often interact.”

She did indeed conjure them.

"Good to know. I shall slow my own thoughts, and would be willing to do so for you as well." She spoke to both of the others.

Ashkaloda is correct, at least as far as I know. Prismite can be used to fuel Narration (and other magic), so if Rebus could successfully steal some of Erryin’s he would get some extra power.
The extractor shuddered, pulling inwards as the forcefield interfered with its operation. Then it stabilized, the operating system attempting to dissolve the force field itself for Chaotic Light.
Not-Bat brightened. “Really? What do you think you can do?”

TmwllR smiled, though he looked a little skeptical. “I hope I can help, but I’ve been known to attach strings to everything I can get away with. If even the most mundane piece of my technology contains a remote self-destruct, who knows what safeguards I put into a clone of myself.”
Rebus didn’t have anything else to say, though he did wonder if Editor Nameless was a variant of Nameless or NameIess. He also noted that the false Dreamsmith was still in limbo, having told the real Dreamsmith who he had made items for (Cricket, Rose, and “my boss”, for reference).
“Heir is both central and moderately burned out - he used to have so many other characters, but I’ve slowly taken over and he’s slowly run out of free time. We should probably end this conversation, if NameIess is at risk of burnout because of it.”

Rebus, though he was mostly focused on the skeleton with the dagger, began running through the possible Banes in his head. The simplest was probably light, so Rebus’s armor suddenly flared to incredible brightness, filling the room with a purple glow that would have hurt to look directly at had any observers in the room possessed anything close to human vision.

“Ah - you can talk,” Rebus said, his crown disappearing from his head as a halberd - his preferred form for Antagonist when it needed to be a weapon - appeared in his hands and intercepted the dagger strike. He had become oddly chipper, considering all that he had just done. “I’m not certain I ever determined the Bane of Calamity; I simply waited for it to exhaust itself as I  monologued dramatically about how I was better at destroying things.”
