Rebus nodded. “Good.” Meanwhile, Cursed Treasure felt… something. A summons, from a source it vaguely recognized. It began to smoke as it drew in far more power from Lezterp than it had before. We need to move. I don’t know why, but it’s important. On 9/22/2025 at 11:53 PM, Hawks said: Hm ok luckily (thank the gods) erryins whole going insane snd murderous got stopped by nameless so they should officially be back in business on that end of the market. erryin peaked open their eyes. Then panickedly looked sriund. "What the hell!??!" -- smiles. "Ill hit up some people and see if I csnt pull a few strings my new friend." Insane and murderous? Rebus thought, one corner of his mouth turned up. He reappeared in front of Erryin, waving a hand and disintegrating the extractor. “You’re alright? My machine seems to have called you back.” Not-Bat smiled. “Thank you! Do you want my help?” On 9/23/2025 at 12:40 PM, Bird Furious said: She slowed his thoughts and Keys rolled her eyes at both of them, drew a shape in the air, and there they were. And yes, they were indeed underwater. Thanks sorry I've been gone a while Been a weird few months Water, though, might not have been the right word. It was certainly a liquid, but it hummed and shimmered with iridescent colors, the glowing and ringing almost overwhelming. The liquid surged towards Keys, attracted by the magic, and wormed its way into every opening it could find, saturating everyone’s clothes. That’s perfectly fine - I’m glad you’re doing well. Symbol may find the substance they’re almost drowning in very familiar, as if she’s seen it before. On 9/23/2025 at 10:58 AM, NameIess said: "I'm sure he did, but given that Rebus is already practically omniscient, omnipotent et cetera in regards to me and my rebellion, I don't see how having a piece of him could make my situation any worse." Editor Nameless was an avatar of Nameless, of course. "So, Cricket has received a weapon from 'me'?" The Dreamsmith frowned. "I shall have to make certain your work is up to standard." With a wave of his hand he pulled a hammer from thin air. "Forge something for me." He tossed the hammer to the fake Dreamsmith. "My Author isn't in danger of burning out because of this conversation. He is busy, but there are many things he wishes to do in TLT. Concluding my and the traveler's storyline, perhaps bringing Moni back into play, the Witherlord plotline, and there's something involving that crown of yours and the Dreamsmith he's wanted to do for a while. “I can see a few reasons,” TmwllR said. “I may simply be here to stack the deck - even if you win, my survival means Rebus in general remains alive. I may be here because Rebus knows himself - everything I say and do could be predicted by him, because we are the same. And most alarmingly, I may be here to stall, to distract you for even a moment so Rebus can reach a point where you cannot stop him.” The false Dreamsmith caught the hammer, and moved to a drawer on the other side of the room. He pulled out raw soul material - something the Dreamsmith had certainly not kept there before. The false Dreamsmith began to separate it into pieces of various sizes, breaking the soul over a wedge slotted into the anvil. He then rounded a piece, shaping it into a gear. He did the same with another, and then another, and then another, creating a small pile of four gears. The fifth gear was a little larger, and rolled away as he tried to add it to the pile. He leaned over the table, holding the other gears in place as he grabbed the fifth gear and put it with the other two on the table. He then moved on to making the next gear, this one comparatively small. Rebus nodded. “That is good to know - I would certainly be interested in the resolution of all those plots, and their existence would likely provide my Author engagement as well.” On 9/23/2025 at 10:50 AM, Ancient Elantrian said: The skeleton waved his hand and a void appeared in the air. The halberd tugged, pulled into the void. Everything inanimate in the vicinity began to float towards the hole, getting sucked in. "Monologues are... childish." The skeleton hissed. He slid his leg, aiming to trip Rebus, his dagger swinging in simultaneously to... incapacitate him. 12 hours ago, ChipsAHoid said: Several of the skeletons rattled and began to fade. There were no humans or even creatures with eyes besides Rebus and Mischief (when did she grow all those oh my that’s a lot of eyes) in the room so nobody was affected. The golden one snarled and his battle axe disappeared, reappearing across from Rebus and swinging at his back in tandem with an arrow fired from one of the skeletons. @KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren all that’s really left is you having your skeleton commander join the fight 2 hours ago, KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren said: Named, now a a Cognitive Shadow stapled to a skeleton from his own corpse, appeared beside Sandy. Sandy then left immediately to go back to Trisolaris. Named tapped speed in preparation. Each of his ribs was coated in a different metal to he could still use Feruchemy. @ChipsAHoid, I need to know what the lighting in this place is. Also, how many other skeletons are there and do they follow everything I say? Rebus dismissed Antagonist, leaping upwards to avoid being tripped. He spun in the air, kicking off of utility fog and twisting over the dagger like a pole vaulter. Feet back on the ground, he caught an arrow out of the air - reflexes and vision enhanced to an incredible degree by the nanomachines that suffused his body - and tossed it into the void as the axe came swinging at him. Antagonist reappeared in his hands, Rebus moving smoothly to hook the axe and wrench it upwards. But even as Rebus deflected and dodged the attacks of his three assailants, more were coming. Personal combat would only go so far - and so Rebus smiled, and created an army of his own. Utility fog locked together into bodies, figures clad in the same armor that Rebus wore coalescing seemingly from thin air. They wouldn’t be sturdy - Rebus was too short of Narration to conjure the materials - but neither were most of the skeletons.
