Rebus realized his Author had misunderstood who the feruchemist was - though no canon actions would really need changing. Time split, Rebus Narrating the world closer to the true timeline of the Thread, able to fight Named even as he was frozen attacking the third skeleton. The use of so much Narration was regrettable, but this was both efficient and necessary. As the spear coalesced in his adversary’s hands, Rebus - standing calmly in this new timeline - locked eyes with Named for the briefest of moments. His irises were orange - and though this was not for the reason that would be assumed, the conclusion that would be drawn was mostly true. As the spear was sent towards Rebus, shining blackness burst into existence around him. The spear crumbled into chalky powder as it hit the molecularly assembled obsidian, and Rebus smirked. “You were close - I don’t routinely possess the materials to assemble obsidian. Not that a puncture wound would be especially harmful, had I not used the Narration.” Obsidian? You've read it, then? Obsidian, however, is only meant to be harmful to luxin in the bloodstream, so... Named knew that a simple luxin spear probably wouldn't be enough to kill this foe, but he had to try. So, using the red glow of the skeletons around him, Named drafted red, and shot the glue-like red luxin at Rebus, before immediately tapping zinc. To counter the backwards force, he burned some of iron on his spine that didn't have feruchemical charge, Pulling on the nanomachines. "Test 2." That’s oblivion, cessation of existence - regardless of how allegedly happy.” The Priest nodded slowly. "I see. The landscape visible beyond was jaw-dropping - a sea of iridescence was laid out before them, almost perfectly flat except for brilliantly shining whirlpools. Rocks - pristine crystal ranging in size from tiny pebbles to what seemed like mountains on the horizon - floated a foot or so above the surface, just as Symbol, Keys, and Rebus were themselves doing. The sky was dark, stars paling in comparison to the light below. And the whole landscape sung, ringing in otherworldly harmony from all around them. The light was not blinding, and the sound was not deafening, but it was everywhere - some who remained in this place might be driven insane by such things, though others could perhaps find beauty in the colors and tones. Rebus - his face serene, head clear of thoughts so as to remain above the flat plane of liquid - seemed to fall into the second category. Symbol closed her eyes and let it wash over her. Keys found everything about this place annoying. It had no right to be pretty.

Hopefully the other rioters he had been leading didn’t try anything. “They don’t work outside the dream realm, so I will have no use for them. How had you been drawing out the soul strands?” The false Dreamsmith worked as he talked, stretching and shaping the strand into a head-sized, roughly spherical form. It began to turn to metal, details emerging from the diminishing glow. Seams and joints became visible, but the purpose of the object was still unclear. This, too, was somewhat ominous, but it was better than wolves. Jack hoped so, at least. So he held his ground, looking intently towards the rustling. 12 hours ago, Hawks said: they nod. "Ah right. Yeah I'd thought that you might've mixed 'em up with mirrors. Also I've just started the Broken Eye, so... All I know so far is that it has some kind of connection to Spoiler Black Luxin Named quickly tapped balance from one of his tinminds so he didn't trip. He grinded to a halt, before tapping brass, gold and throwing up a duralumin-bendalloy bubble. The increased heat disintegrated his luxin, but it helped oxidise some of the copper in his copperminds, turning them green. Then, he began burning some of his extra bendalloy, stored in his mandible, without duralumin. Tapping Investiture, he reforged his armour, this time drawing in the light reflected by his copperminds to make green luxin joints in his otherwise blue skin, to add flexibility and increased strength. Named then stored Identity and Investiture, and used some of the luxin stored in his bone marrow to break of a piece of unsealed nicrosilmind which held some of his chromaturgy. Many pieces, in fact. As his luxin was still bound to his Will, he was able to push them through his armour and into his open blue-and-green hand. Named extinguished his bendalloy and tapped steel, quickly giving each skeleton a metalmind. "Tap it!" he commanded.
