atlas was watching sequence and the others talk. Wandering around and inspecting everything. Occasionally eating candy. Lonely but she entertained herself.

——

When atlas started walking over Asher put her mask back on. Atlas climbed on the couch next to Asher. “Hey you! Whas you name??”

Asher looked at her awkwardly. “Uh Asher…”

atlas who didnt have any sense for personal space was very close to Asher. “You eyes awe diffewent coluhs.” She stated as if it was a magical fact

asher nods. “Uh yeah….”

atlas looks at sequence “whas da story?” She asked sitting down and holding out a peice of candy to Asher who took it and just set it next to her. “Uh.t thanks i geuss.”

Sequence smiled at the interaction, chuckling softly to herself, then cleared her throat and leaned forward.

Spoiler

”Once upon a time, there was a great adventurer. A powerful adventurer too, perhaps even.. a Brave Adventurer. However, he’s not the hero of our story, no… A long time ago, this adventurer got locked up in a prison beyond thread and fiber by a very evil being. Our hero is his friend! We’ll call him…”

Sequence shrugged.

"The Hero. So, when the Hero learned that his friend had been imprisoned, well, he just had to help out. Fortunately, he was quite good at fighting! He had spent his youth training a great many things at a prestigious Academy. So, off he went on his quest! The first thing that stood in his way was a vast gate which blocked his path. The gate smelled… Quite foul. Much like the watery residue one found in cans of beans. But luckily, the Hero had no sense of smell whatsoever! (He had lost it in a poison detection test back at the Academy).  When attempting to unlock the gate proved impossible, he decided to climb the thing! Anybody with even the faintest sense of smell would've passed out immediately! The Hero, however, was strong, and he persisted. He climbed up the gate and continued on his way! Impressive, really.

"So, he continued his journey. He found himself in the ruins of a once great civilization, and it was there that he was injured... He found that a metal spike had lodged itself in his arm. He had accidentally impaled himself on it, somehow." Sequence rolled her eyes. "But, he knew that with his limited supplies, it would be best to treat it later. Besides, it wasn't too bothersome. Unfortunately, that would be a mistake... If you know anything about Hemalurgy, well... Evil beings tend to use metal spikes to control unlucky mortals. But, the Hero didn't know that!

"So, on he went! Until he finally approached a large fortress, which was protected by hundreds of well-armed, well-trained guards. Inside, a book. A very important book, which he needed to unlock the adventurer's prison. He knew that even despite his prowess in battle, he would certainly struggle to breach the fortress. So, he called upon the gods, asking for a gift to aid him in battle... And they answered! Well, one of them answered. A rather silly god. The Silly God blessed the Hero with... A baseball bat. It was green, and engraved with lovely flowery patterns, but it was still just a baseball bat. It came with some gloves though, which was nice. So, brandishing his baseball bat and wearing his gloves, the Hero decided to charge the fortress. As he did, the baseball bat unexpectedly let out a shrill noise, which surprised the guards enough that he was able to catch them off guard! The Hero was spectacular, using the baseball bat to smash his way through legions of guards like a highstorm through a group of Herdazians. He was approaching the book in the center of the fortress, and victory seemed near! That was when he felt a tugging at his mind, urging him towards a different goal... It felt like it was coming from the spike in his arm. 'What do I need this book for?' He asked himself. He felt more tugging at his mind, and he took the book from its place and left the fortress... But he didn't take it to the adventurer's prison...

"No, urged on by the voice of evil, he took it to a great city, where he would place it upon the city's pedestal, and its power and influence would consume the populace in war and death. Blinded by the influence on his mind, the Hero mercilessly fought his way through the valiant guards protecting the city, and found his way to the center, where the pedestal stood. He approached it, brandishing the book. But, internally, he fought back against the influence of evil, and, in the moment before he placed the book on the pedestal to plunge the world into endless war... He broke free, and through sheer willpower and devotion to his quest, the pedestal was transformed into the lock that sealed the adventurer's prison. The Hero placed the book upon the pedestal, and the adventurer was finally freed. The two reunited, and would laugh and talk about..." Sequence blinked a few times, looking surprised. "... Huh. I can't remember." She shook her head, then smiled at Asher and Atlas. "The end!"

Rebus was smiling, though he did not attend the party. Instead, he peered through the Thread to observe the vault - after all, every party thus far had been ended by a catastrophe. “@TwinStorm, @NameIess, @xinoehp512, @Sequence,” he said softly, calling their attention to him. “A description, if you would? Any precautions I would be able to observe, perhaps what happened to the Cricket, Malevolence, Bacon, and Sequence.”

Malevolence, Bacon, and I built a giant vault to protect the papers you seek, and Cricket protected it with Enuller magic and then disappeared!  Said Sequence's disembodied voice, which was followed by the sound of somebody blowing a raspberry.

Sequence nodded, looking up at the growing amount of stars in the sky with a fond smile. There was no moon, as Sequence's world didn't have any, but she understood Freedom's meaning. Some portions of the night sky on the horizons appeared to be obscured by unimaginably large black clouds with some faint splatters of color, mainly dark purples and reds, especially lining the edges of the clouds. They didn't move, and there were a scarce few stars in front of the clouds.

What's a Star stream??

My sincerest apologies for my ignorance!

She beamed. “Lovely to meet you too! Why don’t you have a seat? Tell me a bit about yourself?” Sequence sat down in a wooden rocking chair that sat facing the porch’s railing, and gestured to another one that sat next to it.

A time skip would not have worked, regardless. A number of characters from different Authors needed to act before anything there could be done.
The base of the mountain probably contained something - the air was rather hard to see through, somehow. Surely from residual taint and not because a particular dragon-adjacent Author was working with canon locations he didn’t know enough about.

Well maybe a paticular dragon should've read up on the lore.

"Oh, I normally just..." the Dreamsmith pinched two fingers together, and the false Dreamsmith felt a slight warping to his soul. "A talent of mine. But that tool could be useful in certain cases."

Subversion watched Sequence's party with a sense of... was that melancholy? Surely not. She'd absolutely cut out that part of herself. She was certain she'd gotten all of it.

And yet...

Subversion gritted her teeth and decided to do something else. Not to distract herself from painfully sweet memories. That would have been patently ridiculous. She just didn't like parties.
