Ryna’s gaze lingered on the forest beyond the clearing, her mind already running through possibilities. “I’ll have to watch for… others,” she murmured softly, almost to herself. She tapped the Codex lightly. “Some may help, some may hinder. Allies and obstacles… both can appear where you least expect them.” She adjusted the book in her arms, settling her stance. “Stay observant. Every person, every choice matters. If I misjudge even one, it could change everything.” Her eyes flicked to the village in the distance. “We’ll begin with the plan… but be ready for anything.”

I want to speed up this side quest of Ryna's. Can I? I need to do a little planning.

Ryna found the mayor in his small council room, hunched over ledger papers and the stub of a candle. He looked up, brusque, and suspicious.

“You’re not from here,” he said.

“I’m not,” Ryna agreed. “But I’ve seen what’s happening to your woods.”
She set the Codex on the table and pressed her palm to its cover. The pages unfurled a quiet vision—trees felled, springs running thin, a downstream field failing the next season. It wasn’t prophecy. It was consequence, laid plain.

The mayor’s jaw tightened. “Those trees keep us warm and pay the mill. What do you want? To tell us to freeze and starve?”

“No.” Ryna’s voice stayed steady. “I want you to stop cutting the oldest growth. Leave the dome alone. I’ll help you replace what you lose: show you better planting cycles, alternative timber sources, and this is crucial, how protecting these trees keeps your water and your crops healthy. You keep your income; you avoid collapse next year.” She spoke facts simply: short-term loss countered by longer-term gain, trade routes they hadn’t considered, proof from the Codex of past collapses and recoveries. She named the decision-makers, the market the village relied on, and the single compromise that would save both sides.

The mayor stared at the vision, then at Ryna. The hard lines around his eyes softened. “If you’re right, we’ll lose less than we think. Show me the plan in writing. If it works, the cutters stop.”

Ryna nodded once, already noting the terms in the Codex. “I’ll draft it. You call the council tomorrow. I’ll meet them—calmly. No threats. Practical solutions.”

He stood, slow but resolved. “Do it. For the village.”

oh, that was a lot...

I'm going to take a break while I plan.

Hmmmm cause this is an older timeline. Like before mayors and electricity. They have a chief and two advisors. The chief and advisors are only interested in growing the villiage and making money. There is a river near them that goes to the main kingdom which is how they get their word working stuff to sell.

and they are unaware of the existence of any nymphs and spirite. That being said they haven’t actually seen the dome cause from looking on the outside it just looks like a denser part of the forest. And there are alot of animals that lurk there like bears and wolves so if they did get close they would get attacked. But they have been upgrading their weapons and have been able to kill a the bears and wolves.

And not all of the life trees are in the dome area but thats where everyone hangs out and lives regardless.

"And if they were to die?" The first figure asked.

oh hello again! Great work on putting the traveler there. Im so happy erryin isn’t a mass murderer… again. They hum there is huh? I have a form of an idea. Can a blade get turned a plot blade?

“Not usually.” Subversion shrugged. “Though you can merge a weapon with a Plotblade, it’s not usually done.”

Taeidin, who had been silently observing, shakes his head.

"Oh, it appears I... uhh... Yes. Conversation."

He looks over at Dark Cep.

"Please don't kill that guy. That would make this much harder for me."

He frowns as he observes Erryin and the Traveller.

"Why are they upset?"

@Kansas Stormcursed @Hawks @NameIess

“Trauma.” The traveler said. “And dark Cep.”

"Rather bleak, once again," the second figure mused. The first figure nodded.

"Have you ever considered adopting a pet?" The first figure asked. "Like a dog,"
"Or a cat," said the second figure.
"Or maybe a fish," said the first.
"Or perhaps a horse?"

Yes, more people. That is definitely what this character development plotline needs. (that was supposed to be lighthearted sarcasm im not sure that came off the way i intended)

On the plus side, it'll be very active. And given Rebus' plot is stagnating...

No I wanted Rebus' plot to advance. The slow timeline is kinda screwing with my own planning, cause i think i introduced some things at the wrong time relative to when other things should be. Well, that's what i get for planning my plotline develop so far into the future from when i started tlt. At some point, deviations start piling up and the way i predicted things would go gets skewed.

He killed a whole bunch of Chip's Horrors, but they were designed to die. Other than that though, I don't think he has killed anyone since Bat.

It was a clone of him that had gone rogue and was actively working against him. It was one of the first things he did after getting Antagonist. (Maybe I just enjoy taking notes too much) See:

On 7/2/2025 at 9:25 PM, Dragonheir said:

Rebel screamed, the bond with Cursed Treasure flaring far more powerfully than ever before. His soul strained, and suddenly went out, fully consumed. Rebel slumped forwards and turned to dust. Rebus blew out the last bit of Ordered Chaos energy on his finger, and smiled.
Meanwhile, Cursed Treasure strained to stay with Lezterp, fully consuming Rebel’s soul. Lezterp - my bond is gone. Rebel is dead.

Rebus nodded. “Many would agree. Many would call all of the Thread’s inhabitants weird.”

Rebus smiled inside the mask and locked together all the utility fog in the air, acting in an instant. “If you insist,” he said, watching Aeon hopefully become immobilized.

Rebus took notice, but did not interfere - Asharak was doing well, and Lezterp would presumably self-destruct.

“Truly no idea what you are talking about,” Rebus said cheerfully. “I would offer to help, but I’m not sure I can do much without undue risk.”
Oops… “Colleges. That was what you wanted in return for your help - education for your children.”

“I doubt it - many of my emotions are gone, excised from my soul.” Rebus grinned at Bacon. “Now, I’ll be taking either the paper, or something else - you can choose, I suppose.”

But yeah, he hasn't really killed anyone. Even the Scribe he sorta spared.
