Spoiler

STORMING HATE THE STORMS-CURSED PILE OF CHULL DROPPINGS THAT IS THE MIST THAT AREA IS LITERALLY THE WORST AREA TO EVER EXIST

Got into act two in two and a half hours, gave up, came back the next day and managed to get the last song with 24 minutes left, then somehow managed to kill the last two bosses in that time (half convinced the timer glitched out to let it happen because I swear it took like 30 minutes, but I didn't check my start time closely.)

The Father looks exasperated. "What are all of you doing here! You"—he points at dark Cep—"shouldn't be here at all, and that one"—pointing at Erryin—"isn't supposed to be here until later. And don't even get me started on you." He points at Subversion. "Meddlesome fiend. This is not your territory."

"Fiend? You're the one corrupting the poor child."

2 minutes ago, Hawks said:

"i cant save them.... whats the point..." they close their eyes. "No matter what I do everyone dies so I might as well bring justice."

Subversion began to wish she'd actually read the plot. "Well, how do you know you can't save everyone?"

He waves his hand, and an image appears. The same man, sitting slumped in an armchair. His fingers are at od angles, and his eyelids are sunk in. He breathes laboriously. "I don't know how much closer I could come."

"Good," dark Cep says. "You understand. This one," he says, waving toward Subversion, "does not."

Subversion looked between dark Cep and Erryin. "I... Actually, you're correct. I don't. I suppose I could offer the solution of 'let me make all your friends immortal', but I doubt that's very Narratively compelling. So... bye!"

There was a flash of light, and Subversion was gone. In her place was someone who looked very similar in features, only without the markers of a Narrator. Her eyes were those of a mortal, and seemed warmer than Subversion's.

The Traveller blinked. "Where am I?"

"What? Oh, you've met Subversion? I'm the piece she cut off from herself, the piece that... cares, I guess." The traveler blushed, not wanting to say that she was the piece of Subversion that had fallen in love.

"Um, are you about to kill that guy?" She asked Erryin. "Why?"

"Indeed. That is what I have been trying to do this whole time."

Dark Cep shakes his head. "He is the one responsible for our shattering. He must pay."

The Father nods and smiles. "This is correct. You have no way to trust my word. Except a chance."

they look at the traveller. Something about them.. the way they seemed so.... innocent.. normal... happy. It caused them to look to dark Cep then the father. "Traveller. ... what should I do?"

"Darkness need not be bad," dark Cep counters. "The darkness brings out truth."

"In my-albeit limited-experience, darkness does its best to smother truth. That truth which is revealed by darkness is only done so because when it survives through the deepest shadows."
