"Among other things, yes." Onyx strode past Sequence to where the spear, hammer, and crown floated in pillars of light. "I thought it meet to give one of mine to another."

"Why not give it to me, then?" Avatar asked as he strode into the room, holding his colorless Plotblade in his hand.

The smallish chicken came back to life and was greatly disturbed by this. It ate several more dung beetles.

Platypus executed it again, permanently. He loved dung beetles and couldn't stand for them to be killed.

"Because they need to be split up," Onyx answered, gazing pointedly at Avatar's weapon.

"I fail to see why," Avatar said, drawing closer. "Power is meant to be used. And it's easier to keep a hold of if it's all in the same person's hands."

He stopped and smiled wryly. "Besides, I don't need the entire Plotblade. I just need the same part of it that I took from my fellow avatar Rym's Plotblade."

"And which part would that be?"

Platypus watched, wondering if Onyx was just going to destroy Avatar.

Subversion asked Platypus if he could do her a favor.

"Uh... Maybe. It depends." Platypus replied. "What's the favor?"

“You know your sword, Vengeance?”

Avatar shrugged. "Not completely sure, honestly. A dark part of the Plotblade. Plot in and of itself isn't good or evil, but it can contain both in large quantities. And many other things besides that. I'm...filtering the blade, so to speak, so that the swords that are left behind fit my preferences." He held up his colorless sword. "And because of the unique properties of these Plotblades, shards of the original Sword of Plot himself, the power level stays the same."

"Uhh... I won this Plotblade fair and square...?" Sequence said, looking at the Avatar warily.

"Indeed," agreed Onyx, walking over to the spear of dark crystal.

"Ah," remarked Onyx. "An Echo."

He reached into the pillar of light, which buzzed around his hand, and removed the spear.

Selil, unfortunately, was no longer part of the canon.

Which was very sad. While nobody knew who Selil was, they sounded pretty cool.

Meanwhile, Sequence looked back and forth between Onyx and the Avatar. She summoned a sword. It looked pretty ordinary, she frowned, and dropped it. She summoned another. And another... and another... She took a deep breath. One more time... She summoned a Narrationblade. She looked at the sword in her hands. It was... different. Shinier. More ornamented. It emanated a feeling of... power. Sequence beamed at the sword, flipping it around in her hands. "Ha! That's my Plotblade!" Sequence said to the Avatar with much more confidence. She nodded to the pillar that Onyx was standing by. A Plotblade, and a Narrationblade!

So Sequence just summoned the Plotblade that Onyx was holding?
