That was okay, because Narrators had very hardy digestive systems (thus why Szeth could eat hearts in the first place).

Unfortunately, Narrator Taln Fan had fallen to the unavoidable blunder of the new page.

There was much screaming.

Ene searched for someone to light on fire.

Everyone in Ene's presence screamed.

She screamed louder to assert dominance and kept looking.

Szeth screamed even louder.

Ene chose him as her subject and set him on fire, then Lashed him into space.

Fortunately, when he got to space, he stopped burning.

Szeth's Narrator powers made it fine to be in space. He was fine. It was okay. Everything was alright.

Except for the screaming. It was EVERYWHERE.

Or it was just Sequence. Szeth couldn't be sure.

Sequence was able to make the screams be everywhere through some unknown form of investiture.

Ene was big sad that her plan to create a living star in the sky had failed, but the screams were an acceptable replacement.

Unfortunately, those screams could not be heard in space.

She knew they were happening, though, from hearing them through Narration.

That and the fact that Air had taken a vacation to space for the winter.

Earth was rather upset about this change, and lobbied a motion in the courts that ensured Air would only be able to take vacation time during apocalypses.
