Scotty gawked at the two men locked in battle. She hated when she froze up like that. She shook herself coming back to reality. (Aka y'all rp'd so much without me it seemed like I was in a coma or something hahaha)

Just when she was regaining her sense, a portal opened and dead bodies were now strewn across the floor. What?! The epic was saying something about a disease? She gasped in horror at the sight of the rotting corpses. Robin had been in the hospital during the time frame this epic mentioned! Could he have the virus?! No...she couldn't think that. Robin was one of the only friends she had in the world. He couldn't be poisoned by an epic!

Just as she was about to burst into action, gun shots began spraying through the hallway. Scotty ducked back around the corner. Uuuuugh, what now?! She didn't have a choice. No more concealing it. Even if it meant Robin might hate her now. She couldn't lose him.

Scotty concentrated and formed a large glowing force field around herself. I'm sorry I never told you, Robin. She ran back into the hallway, grabbing him as fast as she could, and encircling him in the force field as well. "No time to explain! Just come with me!"

@Elithanathile you're on your own pal ;)

@Frozen Mint yay! Glad you joined in! :D

Also, I'd be more on board with a random lynch then I would where there's only single votes cuz vote manip...yeah. I would vote...if I knew what we were even trying to do. Blackout games, am I right haha.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@Arinian naw it wasn't me...but if it WAS would you want an epic power next cycle? lolz jk it really wasn't

Suddenly, in the middle of the battle, Robin felt himself being grabbed from behind. "Wha--"

The world around him blurred, and he could tell he was in a force field of some kind. In the center of the force field was the person who had grabbed him. Scotty. "No time to explain! Just come with me!" she said, grabbing him and pulling him back down the hall.

"Come with you? Where are you going? And what about the Epic? If we--"

The windows lining the walls of the hospital shattered, pierced by a hail of bullets from outside. Glass shards flew across the air, but were repelled by Scotty's force field. A second wave of bullets followed, tearing up the walls around them. The two of them ran down the ruined corridor. Sparks, how many people are going to try to kill me today?! Robin thought.

Falchion absentmindedly created a portal to redirect the bullets back towards the shooter, gazing towards the retreating duo. "So she was an epic after all... Seems this just got complicated..."

After a moment he refocused and realized that he was currently standing in an empty corridor besides some purple corpses and a trigger-happy gunman. Actually, this could be fun...

"Oh I'm glad you're here, officer!" He took on a shaky voice, pointing his barely-intact blade down the corridor where the two fugitives had run off. "You saw that, right? That girl's definitely an epic! She'll kill us all!" He tried to make a breathy scream, but chocked up partway due to his incredibly manly voice. (Narrator Bias Included.) "You need to go after her, right? That's your job after all! Just think of what she'll do to that poor man she kidnapped! Oh, it doesn't bear imagining!" Another breathy cry of mental anguish. This one went slightly better.

Game's on, tin-man. I'll get you, and your little epic friend too...

The officer is @Frozen Mint actually. Welcome to the RP, by the way! Looking forward to where this goes.

And I'm guessing that the char isn't actually a police officer, but Falchion doesn't know that, so he's guessing about who would actually run towards a possible epic battle, much less shoot at them.

And Frozen's char said they didn't know which one was the epic, so they shot at all three. Then you see someone run off encased in a forcefield and bullets come back at you. There was no sign that it was Falchion that redirected the bullets, and they've seen proof of an epic, while they don't have any proof that Falchion is one. Also they don't know what the dead bodies are from. Might be from the other epic.

I was joking :P Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

"So what's the plan, Scotty? You always have a plan!"

"A plan?! Uhhhhhh....right. Of course I have a plan!" Man, I wish I had a plan. Running down the side corridor, Scotty looked frantically for a door leading to the stairwell. "We can't just let him kill these people, but we can't exactly go back the way we came, and we can't use the elevator. It's kinda busted.....just a little. So we gotta find another way....there!"

Stopping suddenly, she pointed to a door marked "stairs". "In here!" She opened the door and rushed inside, closing the door behind them. Pausing to catch her breath, she looked up at Robin, worry etching across her face. "I....I'm sorry I never told you about this...this power." She removed the force field and looked away. "I thought you'd hate me...because...", her voice cracked and her eyes filled with tears. "Well, because of what happened to you." Scotty gestured to Robin's mechanical limbs without meeting his gaze.

Name: Aaliyah Cross. She never really got a proper chance in that last QF :P

Designation: Low Epic, Water Epic

Primary power: Scrying, a form of basic precognition where she can envision possible dangers in the reflections of water surfaces. This danger sense works in a way suspicously similar to Dusks' Aviar. It does not classify as an invulnerability prime power, unlike some cases of precognition, but it still has prevented her death a number of times.

Secondary power: Able to sense water nearby. The most useful application of this is that it includes the water in people's bodies.

Tertiary power: Minor speed and agility boosts.

Weakness: Her weakness shall remain undisclosed, because really, what would be the fun in that?

Epic Name: None. See below to explain why.

Background:

Aaliyah grew up in Mirialis. Well, it wasn't always called that. Before it was called something else. It was back then that Calamity made her an epic. Four months before Balelight took over.

Rather than joining this new epic, Aaliyah concealed her powers, pretending to be just another loyal citizen of Mirialis. She refused to become one of Balelight's slaves. She still goes along with Balelight's regime though, because, really, what choice does she have? It's sometimes difficult to hide from the dousers, but she gets by. It helps that her scrying can warn her ahead of time.

Like all epics, Aaliyah is warped by the influence of calamity. She is definitely better than most of them, but she's been getting worse, especially since using her scrying power is pretty much involuntary whenever she sees a reflective surface of water. Since she masquerades as a regular citizen, most people think she's just super grouchy. She doesn't have many friends because of that, unfortunately. Would anybody like to be her friend?

Yas! It would be a calamity if our characters didn't become friends!

The force field disappeared and Scotty turned her head to the side. "I thought you'd hate me...because...", her voice cracked. "Well, because of what happened to you." She gestured to Robin's mechanical limbs without meeting his gaze.

Without a word, Robin embraced her and planted a kiss on her cheek. They stood for a long moment at the top of the stairwell.

Robin finally broke the silence. "It doesn't matter. You're still just Scotty." A pause. "You saved me back there. Thank you."

-

The sound of footsteps grew louder and louder. "Come on," Robin said hesitantly, "we need to move. We can catch up later."

Sandra looked about her, rather dazed. The smoke curled up from the buildings ahead and all sorts of Epics were rushing around like headless chickens. Well so much for my organized life she thought, and getting up, headed towards the hospital.

note: Sandra's Epic powers are to summon and solidify mist.

"Arriving. Your destination is on the left."

Aaliyah parked on the street next to the hospital. It was a wonder the old car was still running; it was from before Calamity and therefore practically an antique. Automobiles were a rarity in Mirialis nowadays, but they were a necessity to keep institutions like the Mirialis hospital stocked (once it might have had a proper name, but that was a long time ago). It was as good an occupation as any she'd had recently. It was an occupation that inhabited the grey area between excessive oversight and excessive interaction with Balelight and her slaves.

She fetched the box of medical equipment from the trunk and walked up towards the hospital. She heard gunshots. Commonplace. Apparently there was some kind of forcefield epic running about. On the way in, she saw some guy holding a battered sword, asking a "police officer" for help against the forcefield epic. Asking a police officer for help? As if police were even a thing anymore.

"Nice sword, ya slontze," she said as she passed him.

First, I don't like idea with leaving lynch to random, cause here Alv in this game and so my chance to be lynched by random is something like 73-75 % (especially if he is elim) :P

Second, I don't think that Jon is elim and he should be voted, also I don't think that he was "mean" with his vote. He voted on someone for understandable reasons. For village is important to get information, but death caused by random lynch provides not even close amount of information and discussion as normal lynch. That's really easy for elim to hide in random, also when there starts atleast some discussion about lynch you can build some opinion on players, maybe gather some suspicions.

Also I believe that Elith is neutral, he was first who claimed neutral and how he acting is really "neutral" behavior in my eyes, elim would be more careful about what to say, and looked like that Elith not very cares about lynch, his advice is also understandable and suitable for neutral.

His protect power will dissapear after that turn, cause as I understand he was gifted with that power only for one turn.

Also from your post I got feeling that you are the one who gifted him with power. Just feeling... hmm..

Also there high chance that I would be inactive on 24th and 25th.

Will vote later.

I agree with Arinian about his points (and in effect, I agree with Jondesu)

Firstly, waiting for a random lynch to happen is kind of analogous to waiting for an SK to kill at their whim or waiting for a disinformed village vigilante to take action ( except now you know its going to happen). And, we ( or at least I and a few others) do not want that.

From what I understand of standard games (and assuming we can apply that here) the majority of the players in a game are generally village. A random kill is thus likely to hit a village vs an elim (thus why we discourage vigilantes too). So, IMO, we're more likely to lose a villager as compared to an elim and with no discussion gained.

Now, I realise that we can't be sure that the village is in the majority this game, but we don't know that they aren't. Either way, we're guessing.

On the other hand, even though D1 is almost always a mislynch, we do get some discussion out of it.

Secondly, given that I agree with Jondesu and I can see where he's coming from, I'm inclined to believe he's a villager for now.

Thirdly, I agree that Elith is likely who they claim they are. I thought of how hard it would be to be the first to claim to be neutral (woah, that phrasing), and I realised that though guessing the orange coloured text is not all that hard (if you've been here long enough), I don't see any merits in claiming to be the first to claim neutral. It simply puts you on everyone's radars, especially role scanner (who given that it's day one, presumably have no better targets).

I'd agree with this reasoning in a normal game. But the first cycle lynch debate has less value now, because we don't have much to debate about. A dead player's role and alignment has more value since we have so little information regarding role and alignment.

And I've just realized that I made the assumption that roles are revealed on death. @Seonid are they?

I don't like these single votes. It makes it very easy to swing the lynch via vote manipulation.

Which first cycle lynch debate and the lynch itself has inherent value? We need to generate that value ourselves.

What value will the dead player's alignment and role have if you don't know how they acted while they were alive? An elim under the threat of a lynch will try to squirm (figuratively, of course) their way out of the spotlight. Perhaps they may try to enlist the help of a fellow faction member to get them out. This information (especially late in game) will prove an invaluable resource. A lynch on a villager will also give us information. Analysing the voting patterns and vote reasons gives us possible links between players.

On the other hand, what would you do with a randomly killed player's alignment and role?

Also, if we do want to avoid vote manip, then the solution is simple. Vote!

(Although, I'm in favour of keeping the votes spread out D1 (unless you have a solid suspicion (which is unlikely on D1)) because the way the votes get manipulated also gives us information ( and the lynch remains as effective and random as it would have been). Now, I know this may be controversial, but I just thought I'd say this)

PAFO!

Because I'm feeling nice, I'll tell you that yes, roles are revealed upon death. I will neither confirm nor deny the existence of roles, items, or abilities that can alter that state of affairs.

Does role imply alignment? Or do we simply get to know about their role and the alignment is kept a secret?

Why exactly is this game different? We never know what to discuss Day 1, and here, trying to prompt discussion is even more important since we don’t yet know the full framework of the game. Having a random lynch gives us far less useful information than lynching someone ourselves.

And I agree, I don’t like easily manipulated lynches. Weigh in, people.

I agree. (That's literally all I have to say)

This is kinda  embarrassing, but after this post about voting, I have no vote to put forth. I definitely am not a proponent of no votes, and will put one if I do find something off, but as of now, no vote.

I would also like to note that the epic that gave elith their powers likely was simply trying to announce their presence? Or they were trying to protect a neutral role who, they believed, might be under danger due to their roleclaim. The former leads me to believe they're on the village's side. The latter on the other hand is kind of puzzling. Why would someone want to protect a neutral? Any ideas? (Apart from simple goodwill I mean)

Lastly, I would like to say that I was not here for most of this cycle, and in consequence, I could not say all this earlier. It is only right now that I caught up on the thread.

Poke votes are different. I'm trying to get his attention to see if he's alive. It's a liiitttle late in the cycle to be doing it but...
