King Cole he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Shockwave begins to sing, at first no one noticed, but soon a police man heard him. Soon he was on the ground rolling in pain. "Uncultured swine, doesn't even recognize good music" He thinks with annoyance. 1
DrakeMarshall he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 First of all, I want to let everybody know in advance that I will probably be pretty inactive tomorrow. I'm heading off to college / moving in, and it's probably gonna be a busy day. Now, I believe there are some things to address: 4 hours ago, Crimsn-Wolf said: Altea jolted slightly when a voice spoke up, "Ah.." she mumbled, searching to locate the owner of the voice. She stood up to her full 5'4" and made her way cautiously around the corner, to face the one that confronted her. "Hello. No, I have no reason to hide. I am merely scoping out the playing field, as things appear to be quite hectic." Her voice was quiet, but it held an odd sense of presence. [for anyone who cares, Altea has long black hair and cat-like amber eyes] "Whatever. Not my sparking business I suppose. Balelight's pets off their leash again, looks like, so yeah." Aaliyah replied, watching the retreating epics. Sword-man had disappeared to Calamity knows where, the forcefield lady was running away, and the "police officer" was just sort of standing there, taking it all in. Sometimes she wished she could be like them, using her powers so flagrantly. Sparks, it was her right to be like them. But that would require she bend her knee to Balelight. 1 hour ago, Ecthelion III said: "Less talking and more moving, Scotty!" Robin shoved open the door at the bottom of the stairwell and held it open for her. "Come on, I know a place." Together, the two of them ran out of the ruined hospital and into the night. Thunder broke overhead, and it began to rain. - @Elithanathile @Frozen Mint @Sami @King Cole @Crimsn-Wolf @Drake Marshall @anyone else who's at the hospital, Scotty and I are officially leaving unless one of you does something to stop us. You made it rain??? That might have been unwise... A rolling thunderclap sounded overhead. Aaliyah's head snapped up. Overcast. But she'd just checked the weather forecast only five minutes ago... Nonononononono. This CAN'T be happening. It started slowly at first. The rain started as a light sprinkle, but to her, it was a torrent of new sensation. An overload of new information as she sensed every drop of rain failling around her, rebounding off every surface. And the reflections... She could see countless tiny images reflected in each puddle, snapshots of the near future, or possible futures, anyway. Thank Calamity she didn't see any danger, else the visions would have gotten much worse... Nononono... Have to get inside... She squeezed her eyes shut, trying not to drown in the flood of information. She stood like this for an unknown amount of time, drenched in the downpour. Finally, her mind adjusted. It always did. As disorienting as it was, she couldn't help but feel like her powers were meant for this. Yes. Finally, she opened her eyes. It was hardly necessary. With raindrops striking every surface, she could nearly sense everything around her without her eyes. She saw a girl standing outside the hospital, watching the fleeing forcefield epic. "Hey You!" she yelled, voice cracking. "Where do you think you're going?" Sparking girl. What did she think she was doing, standing in Aaliyah's way, shouting nonsense like that? Those epics are mine. "Shut it," Aaliyah said, casually passing around the girl. She narrowed her eyes, focusing in on the forcefield epic and her friend. They were abominations. Balelight's pets. How dare they debase the status of epic by swearing fealty to someone so weak. Part of Aaliyah knew this was wrong. Part of her protested. But that part of her was pathetic. All around her, the visions in each reflection of water converged on the two epics. They were going to pay. "TURN AROUND YOU SPARKING COWARDS!!!" she roared. "You don't deserve the swift death you are about to recieve." Without further warning, she broke into a sprint after them at a speed that seemed to be entirely at odds with her slight build. 1
Sami she/her Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) "TURN AROUND YOU SPARKING COWARDS!" the girl sprinted after them. Sandra cocked her head. Not so fast girlie. Mist swirled around her, and raising her hands, she encircled the egoistic girl in solid mist, stopping her mid-stride. The mist would only last for as long as she concentrated, but Sandra didn't care. She grinned, turning after the fleeing couple. Nothin' too it. Edited August 24, 2017 by Sami
DrakeMarshall he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Aaliyah sensed the water around her moving. Coalescing into mist. Trying to smother her. What's this now? All the reflections around her whirred in motion, rapidly arranging and rearranging as she considered and reconsidered in the blink of an eye. They froze again, once as she made her decision and lunged to the left with uncanny agility. Not so fast. A wall of mist clenched around the space she had just been occupying. Who was so foolish as to try to drown her? It was preposterous. She was literally in her element. It had been years since she had seen the future like she was seeing it now. She looked back, and saw mists swirling around the girl she saw before. "You," she said, simply. A knife fell into Aaliyah's palm.
Sami she/her Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) The girl had somehow sensed it coming. Sandra's hand reached for her own knife, when she caught sight the two Epics again. They were getting away. No........ not again - not again. Gritting her teeth, Sandra turned back to the girl. "They're getting away." she said curtly. "As much as I'd like to, I don't have the time to fight you. So I'm offering a compromise. We catch them first, together. Then we settle this." She didn't know if the girl would accept or not. But it was her only chance. Edited August 24, 2017 by Sami
DrakeMarshall he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Aaliyah was genuinely puzzled. Who did she want to kill first? Both of them had inconvenienced her. Both obviously deserved an excruciating death. Well, if those two get away I might not be able to catch up. "Well, I hate to say it, but you're actually right. I suppose we can call a ceasefire until those two are dealt with. But don't think I've forgotten about all this."
Sami she/her Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) A small cold smile found its way onto Sandra's face. "You bet." She had gotten a compromise and gained an ally - if only temporarily. She jerked her head towards the two, now rapidly disappearing into the distance. "Let's get to it, then." She took off after them, letting the mist propeller her forward. Edited August 24, 2017 by Sami
DrakeMarshall he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Aaliyah took off after the pair at full speed, shouting obscenities about Balelight. I apologize for Aaliyah's recent behavior, but, well, somebody decided to make it rain... 2
Hemalurgic Headshot he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 A sheet of ominous grey storm clouds rumbled above the city, blocking out the sun and shadowing the buildings. Outblack could feel the lack of sunlight on his face, felt his skin get cooler. It just meant more capacity, and he couldn't stop now. With a quick roar, the black shroud that encased he burst outward, swallowing buildings, draining the light from them. Outblack grew warmer, the smell of heat engulfing him. All of that light was making things hot under the collar. At last, the heat was uncomfortable, nigh unbearable, possibly to the point where he would start burning through the ground. The darkness probably covered a good chunk of the city center, at least a mile in every direction. Thunder rumbled. A soft rain drizzled from the sky, hissing on his skin. It was a small relief.
xxGaea They/Them, Fae/Faer Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 //not gonna quote it all because that was lots of rp lol// Altea watched the young woman who had confronted her before storm off after three others once it had begun to rain. 'Alright...' She thought to herself, uncertain on what to think of the scene unfolding around her. She decided that she would not be getting involved in such a seemingly meaningless fight between powerful beings. Shaking her head in befuddlement, she made her way away from the hospital and back towards the center of the city, staying close to the buildings. She noticed an encroaching darkness and cautiously made her way into it, curiosity begging her to investigate the strange occurrence, so she may find the reasons behind it. [@Hemalurgic_Headshot, care to rp? :p]
Eternum he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 (edited) tags y u no work Sol sighed as he walked down one of Mirialis's streets, having decided to check out what all the commotion in the hospital was all about. The sudden rain was more than a bit unpleasant, but he couldn't exactly do anything about it. Well, I could, but doing so would be stupid and counterproductive, as the rain would just start falling again later. Hm.. Technically it would fall at the same time as before, right? Bah. Makes no difference. These thoughts were interrupted when he noticed two figures running through the rain in a hurry. Rain could make anyone hurry, but this seemed different. They were running from something. Someone? Then, quite a distance ahead, he glimpsed two more people running, presumably after the two he'd just seen. Well, if nothing else, at least I know something happened at the hospital, Sol thought, turning on his heels and walking after the two that had just passed. He was in no hurry. (Sami, Drake, anyone else involved that I forgot about/didn't notice, care to RP?) Edited August 24, 2017 by Eternum
Lemonelon Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Okay, I'm sorry Jon for voting you on the first round. Big mistake. This round Crimsn because I don't like the idea of leaving a known epic (no matter how powerful) loose in the city.

Steeldancer he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I'm going inactive today, until the 28th. I might be able to get on for day 5, but rollover might be too early for me to hop on at all. I've asked seonid a couple times if he'll accept actions being put in in advance, but he's never responded lol. Hopefully I'll be able to find some WiFi somewhere, but I doubt I will. I'll ask again: reckoners, please get in contact with King Cole and I. Thank you very much for your cooperation. I love all the RP going on, but alas I have not the time to join in. I need to go pack for camping
Seonid he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 The writeup has been edited in! Everyone should go read it. Also, I made a mistake, and did not reveal Jondesu's items when posting the writeup. That mistake has been rectified!
Elithanathile he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Just read the write-up! I'm famous! Woot! Up above the roof of the hospital, Falchion grimaced as it started to rain, and redirected the rain above his head to the inside of the hospital. Maybe it would help wash away some of the stink. But the precipitation wasn't helping his eyesight any, making it almost impossible to tell where his quarry was at. Squinting, he thought he could make out the forms of two people dashing out one side of the building. He couldn't tell if it was them or not, but couldn't afford to be indecisive at this point. A portal opened up above the fleeing duo, and a large heavy form dropped out, a car he'd nabbed from the parking lot. His aim was off due to the tempest though, and it crashed to the ground just to their left. Neither one paused. Trying to take more careful aim, Falchion's head moved to almost directly above the cyborg and epic, preparing for his next shot. This would probably just cripple them, and he could deal with them from there. With almost no warning his vision erupted in light and the right side of his face burned like it had been pressed into a hot iron. Eyes open wide he screamed as he felt his face crack and shift. Without warning his right eyeball burst, the superheated insides unable to be contained. Then it was gone and he was lying in the mud, the cold rain soothing on his rapidly cooling face. In the distance he could hear the sound of running footsteps. It seemed almost impossible, but Falchion managed to push himself onto his knees before creating a portal back to his base, just before falling into it, completely unconscious. The portal winked out just after he passed through. ... Well that wasn't planned at all. I figured, so he'd go closer to get better aim. It's a thunderstorm. His head's the highest thing around for miles. Yeeeeep. That's gonna happen. So congrats, @BrightnessRadiant and @Ecthelion III, it looks like you don't die today! We'll see how he's feeling in a few weeks though. Also not actually sure how eyeballs respond at insanely high temperatures, but figured this could be within reason. I did some research, but for some reason nobody has done exhaustive testing on the subject. Can't imagine why not. 1
King Cole he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I'm a bit hesitant to vote for anyone still
DrakeMarshall he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I believe some people have survived lightning strikes and merely suffered unconsciousness, although that's only if they are lucky.
Elithanathile he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Yeah, I know lightning is rarely fatal and can be survived with pretty minimal injuries, but I wanted to make this a bit more severe. It might be a bit unrealistic, but I tried to keep it somewhat believable. If it's too much though, I can tone it down. It'll probably end up resulting in some kind of personality change as well. Not to mention he can get a rocking eyepatch now.
Lemonelon Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Why is no one else voting? Is it usually like this? I'll retract my vote on Crimsn for now then. Aren't Epics the bad guys normally? I'm unfamiliar with the color coding of factions and feel like I'm missing something.
King Cole he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Seems like reckoners are bad right now, with the red font
Eternum he/him Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 Well, Elith, it's really unlikely his eyeball would burst. His limbs might get shaky n stuff, his sense of touch might be slightly dampened, and he won't be able to walk properly for at least a couple of days, but an eyeball bursting? That's really unlikely, as I said before.
Lemonelon Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 9 minutes ago, King Cole said: Seems like reckoners are bad right now, with the red font Okay, so kill Reckoners? You and Flash want to them to get in touch with you though. So are you bad too? Or are you being super sneaky to get them to contact you so you know who to kill? My head feels like it's in a loopdy loop...
