@I_am_a_StickMarsh would win either way imo. Way too fast for vasher to hit and can kill from long range with coins. Plus emotional allomancy and atium, and he can push or pull on vasher's metal buckles.

@Patar When we say 'Vasher' do we mean 'Vasher with nightblood' or 'Vasher and just Vasher'?

Hm, that's a good question. On one hand, Nightblood was also a solo entry in the tournament and is arguably his own character. But Vasher also uses it as a weapon throughout Warbreaker and it's feasible to say that he might use it here.

I'm hesitant to say Vasher solo since I'm voting for Marsh and don't want to come across as biased, but that's the scenario that I had in mind. All of the other votes concerning Vasher haven't mentioned Nightblood (I think) but if enough people want to factor him into their vote, I don't have a problem with that. Hopefully I'm not shooting myself in the foot by saying so.

Ohhh, okay...I still vote for Vasher :P I was just trying to find a reasonable explainantion to why he would win a fight. But still, if a fight were to happen between Vasher and Marsh, it would be a long, tough one. Vasher can use his Awakening to awake another sword, right? XD Ugh, alright, I just like Vasher better than Marsh. But I still think he has the potential to win a fight as well

You think to tempt me with such measly upvotes? :P

I'm voting for Marsh. Besides maybe Vin, he's my favorite Sanderson character. A fight between Marsh and Vasher could go either way, but in the end I think that Marsh would win. Even if Vasher knew he had to remove the spikes, I doubt he would be able to. And although I do like Vasher, I juts like Marsh's story so much better. The moment at the end of HoA when he

removed Vin's earring was just so well done. Plus, Marsh is still alive and kicking 300 years later. And he's also become toe figure of death itself. That's pretty badchull.

Also, I'll be upvoting any votes for Marsh :P

I will as well

This is one of those fights that is almost undebateable because of how even they are. Without Nightblood I think Marsh has the edge, however small that edge is, but Vasher could still win. With Nightblood I'd say the two are almost even, and it truly could go either way. It's kind of a shame to see these two fight each other this early in the tournament, I could see both of these characters going as far as the finals!

I've also never noticed until now how similar these two characters are. Both are immortal (or at least have extremely long lives), both are haunted by the things they've done in the past, both are extremely powerful, both have incredible redemptive arcs, both are kinda grouchy, both probably need a hug, etc.

Ok, when you say Marsh has a slight edge, I'd like to remind you of a couple facts. Marsh can move literally hundreds of times faster than Vasher, heal from any wound, tap zinc or cooper if he didn't know what to do, and tap iron to then fire coins at an incredible speed, along with over a dozen other abilities. And Nicrosil could dump all of Vashers investiture.

That seems a bit more than a slight edge over a guy who can't heal from wounds.

That's all true, but I was thinking more of Vasher's awakening capabilities. He has created an entire army of lifeless soldiers, after all. I'd probably still give it to Marsh though.

Yeah, but Marsh with steel feruchemy could easily walk through any number of lifeless soldiers without being attacked, and it would only take one coin to the head to take Vasher down. It just seems kind of obvious to me that Marsh is the strongest character in this tournament, because he has thirty two (presumably) different magical powers plus enhancements.

And Marsh steelruns his way into the next round!

In the next fight, Breeze and Vin, who helped one another to take down the Lord Ruler and save Scadrial, will fight one another!

As much as I want to play the underdog, this battle is over before it begins. Vin.

(the upvote thing still applies)

Vin

and how did I get FIVE upvotes in the last round?

Too many of you Marsh supporters. :P

Noooooooooo. Nooooooo. Don't make me choose! Please!

Well, Vin. My precious Vin, though I love Breeze's caring and sensitive side that he rarely shows, I love Vin so much as she grows through the series into a confident young woman. Plus her conflict over the moral intergrity of all of the nobility was nice to read in the first book.

I'm sorry Breeze! I still love you.

Breeze. I am very fond of Vin, but I like Breeze more. He is funnier, and funny is rather important to me. Vin would steamroll him in a fight, but I vote Breeze anyway.

Oh, and I will upvote any Breeze votes. Not that its gonna help him though.

Vin. Breeze is funny, and fairly well developed, but in a fight Vin would definitely win (and I stand by that Spook should have killed Breeze last round), and if we're comparing character development there's really no contest, in my humble opinion.

And Vin defeats Breeze to move on to the next round!

Up next is Sazed vs. Taravangian, king of Kharbranth.

So difficult, so difficult. (spoilers for Mistborn (not SH) and SA to current)

Spoiler

Seeing as we're calling him Sazed and not Harmony, I'm assuming that our combatant is the Terrisman Feruchemist and not the OP God. :P Feruchemy is my favorite of the Scadrian metallic arts because of the sheer versatility of the effects, and one of the things that got me so interested in it is when Sazed goes Ham with the metalminds in the defense of Luthadel (Pewterarm pun intended).

On the other side we have Taravangian, who I think is one of the most underappreciated characters in all of SA. His Nightwatcher boon/bane is awesome as a double-edged sword, and despite his rough edges he's trying to work against the Voidbringers, even if it is for personal gain.

Both of these characters I enjoyed reading, and wish that I didn't have to kill one. But...

I'm going to have to go with Sazed just for the sheer awesomeness of Feruchemy.

Fellow Sazed voters, have upvotes!

Taravangian supports get my upvotes. The Most Intriguing Villain of Anything Ever (trademark) is so amazing in every way. His character is great, his motive is perfect, and his constant wondering how smart he is earns him my vote.
