WayneSpren he/him Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Taravangian. The best villain Sanderson has ever written, plus I can't imagine he hasn't bonded himself a Shardblade by now.
Elenion he/him Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Taravangian. It's hard to beat a guy who has your every move predicted before the battle even starts.
Stick. she/her Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 TERRY. The Diagram would tell him what to do to beat off Cody.
Toaster Retribution he/him Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Cody. In an one-on-one, Mr T cant do much against him. Diagram is not an automatic win. And also, I like Cody better.
StormyQueen she/her Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Taravangian because I really like him as a villain, and his character premise is very interesting. Plus I think it's going to be interesting how he plays out in the later books. Cody is cool, and I really like him, but he's not as interesting to me as good old Mr T. 1
Eccentric Hero he/him Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Taravangian's character and life is very interesting. Also, he might have a scalpel in his pocket. I don't know how that can defeat a sniper, but it's in the Diagram so it must be true. Also, Cody seems lame after you meet Wayne, Lightsong, and Wit. 1
Cartographer7 Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 I like Terry better as a character, but I've been treating this as a combat tournament, so I'm gonna stick to that. Cody is much better armed and trained than Terry; it's not much of a fight.
Magestar he/him Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Cody is just too cool to lose. Seriously. Cody.
Stick. she/her Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 To all you people who're supporting Cody: why don't you come and help at H&H. We've been going in circles there for the last couple of days 1
Patar he/him Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 Cody and Terry are tied at five votes apiece. I'll give it a little longer, and if nobody else votes, I'll submit my vote in an hour or so.

Patar he/him Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 I'd like everyone to know that I made the decision to vote for Taravangian BEFORE WayneSpren made the above comment The next battle was Jasnah, a surgebinding scholar from Roshar, against Lopen, an... odd man from Bridge Four. 1
Elenion he/him Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Just now, Patar said: Taravangian And there was much rejoicing in the land. I'm voting Jasnah: I think Lopen is a bit overrated for what he actually says/does, while I don't believe Jasnah gets enough credit.

And lo, the after-party was, on the ancient scale of one to ten, an eleven. Also, Lopen is a king. If you look hard enough, it's in there. He wins.
StormyQueen she/her Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Jasnah, without a doubt. I could write an essay about why I love Jasnah, but don't want worry, I'll keep It short(ish). When we first meet Jasnah, we really see her as only a scholar, but then as the story progresses, through Shallan's POV we see more of her as a character. We see her frustration with herself, and a depth of character far more than we see in Lopen, even though we haven't seen much from her POV. I love the shift that we get as Shallan discovers more of her, and finds out that she isn't perfect or infallible, but is just human. Jasnah is a person who isn't afraid to challenge society, and despite being seen as completely heretical by most of the society she grew up in, she still goes far working as a scholar and being successful despite not being afraid to speak for what she believes in. Really, compared to Lopen, who is a good character in his own right, her character just goes so much further and in depth. Plus, in a fight, she can summon a Shardblade, which, even without training would be enough to beat Lopen. 1
asterion137 he/him Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Jasnah is much deeper and more relatable, and she would totally win in a fight 1
Toaster Retribution he/him Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Jasnah would win in a fight, but I like Lopen more, so I vote Lopen.
Stick. she/her Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 I like Jasnah more than Lopen, plus Jasnah would totally win a fight with her Surgebinding. Though I don't know about that scene towards the end of WoR when Spoiler Lopen did something. (Surgebinding?) But still
Cartographer7 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 Jasnah, both for combat and character. As for that scene in WoR, Spoiler WoB is that Lopen is one of Kaladin's "squires" (along with the rest of Bridge Four). Squires are people who are bound to a Radiant, though we don't have much in the way of details on how it works. Windrunners like Kal have more squires -- and give more power to their squires -- than other orders. There are other possible explanations for Lopen's stormlight use (no WoBs I've seen confirm it directly), but it being a perk of being Kaladin's squire seems like the most sensible conclusion. See these WoBs on theoryland, especially #2 and #5. Long story short, he'd probably do better than he would have before becoming a squire, but would still get pwnd by Jasnah
Magestar he/him Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 No. Just... No. Lopen. He is a King, plus he's awesome. Plus, he has a special that summons extra Herdazians from nowhere, which means that Jasnah won't have enough Stormlight to turn them all to fire and crystal and stuff.

Eccentric Hero he/him Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 (edited) Lopen Although Jasnah is a surgebinder and has more in-depth personality, Lopen is kind and lighthearted. Jasnah would coldy try to kill him. But Lopen is (most likely) a squire, so he has some chance. Edited September 30, 2016 by Eccentric Hero
Turbonator Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Lopen. As has been mentioned, he was a king. And he's funny. Also, is anybody there? I think that the crowd left the stadium...
Patar he/him Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 And Jasnah pulls of the win by one vote! Up next stood a soldier, clad in a radiant Blue Shardplate, Shardblade in hand. Adolin Kholin. His opponent was Shai, one of the greatest forgers from the planet Sel.
