It had been a month since Touka had became friends with Varda. "How time flies when you're busy studying" she said to herself. Touka was absorbed by her studies and the stress was finally getting to her.

Maybe i should go out and get some fresh air or something. She got up and walked to the court yard in front of the Library, it felt so good to stretch her legs and feel the sun on her skin. She got to the court yard and sat down in the grass, she let out a sigh and said "Hello sunshine!!"

Touka was so happy, she decided to sing out loud. She looked around and didnt see anyone "It's safe I think" she whispered to herself. "Do I wanna know..." she sang out as best she could. Touka felt so liberated, all her stress melted away.

Important Change:

In perpetua lodging orders are no longer valid. I will allow the ones already placed to go through for this turn, but next term, everyone must put in lodging orders or they'll be out on the streets.

Um, what exactly does this mean? I'm slightly confused, sorry. You italicized that "everyone" must put in lodging or they'll be out on the streets, but I'm not sure what you mean by that. Are you saying some players have had lodging orders placed for them? (*cough*probably Sasuke since he hasn't been killed by a Merc*cough*)

Aren't there a couple votes on some players? Sigh. Should we spread the votes around to lower the risk of expulsion or lashing(s)? Sasuke. DeathClutch.

Actually, from what I can see, these are all the votes, so we could remove them all.

Votes:

Sasuke(2): Lopen, Kynedath

Firemuffing(1): Elbereth

BB(1): Kynedath

DC(1): Lopen

Why remove them? They are pretty much the only incentive to participate for some people. Besides, voting is the only way to remove the eliminators. Until we have more proof or evidence, we have to vote so that the eliminators don't have free reign all the time.

So basically what you said, but I just wanted to point out that extra votes don't increase probability of getting more DP from the Masters (obviously the 1st vote increases it from 0 to 1/(# of players with complaints on them), but after that...). The extra votes increase the probability of the player getting a more serious punishment.

o.O Apparently not. Which doesn't bode well for that plan. Well that probably answers that question. *Note to self: Read the thread properly*

That is indeed what I said.

What are you worrying about? You weren't the person I was aiming that sarcasm at. You read it just fine.

I'm guessing it means you could have just said "I want to stay in the Horse and Four forever", instead of having to place orders each cycle. I don't know, though.

I asked, and if there are no votes, no one is put up on the horns. Which is... nice? Votes are good for potentially roleblocking eliminators, but they're also quite annoying, so I don't know. Do we want to try it?

EDIT: Ninja'd by Kynedath, with whom I agree not at all. We can't remove eliminators through voting unless they are definitely eliminators. And why are we not planning on voting for people once we have more evidence? That doesn't make sense.

Exactly. A number of players placed orders saying that they wanted to be in a location until they said otherwise, and we allowed it at first because it made sense, flavor-wise, but if we're not allowing in perpetua impressions (which we're not), and we're forcing people to be active in that way, then players should have to be active (and paying attention) in order to stay at the place they want to stay.

I am placing my complaint on BB. Last turn it was mentioned you lied about your field of study

Now, we have something of a problem. Our Analyst-Analyst confirmation is not going to work out. BB has confessed to me that he has done a LOT of lying this game, and one of the lies he told was that he has been studying Linguistics. He hasn't.

Last turn, was the first turn you posted the "I am not a skindancer" phrase.

It seems to convenient that you purposely lied about the field to cover the lie about not being a skindancer.

Elbereth, please consider removing your vote from Firemuffin. He's new, and didn't no any better. Yes, what he suggested was foolish, but I'm almost certain it was not malicious. I'm basing this on character observation, rather than fact, but I do know him fairly well.

I need a place for my other vote, so I'm gonna hit IrulelikeSTINK again. Sorry, friend, but you can still afford it best of anyone. Also, the PK assassination was weird.

Kynedath, do you really think that the lynch has much effect on inactives in this game? The worst we threaten them with is removing their ability to be active. There are a bunch of other rules in this game built to incentivize activity, but I don't think it's something we can realistically use this complaint system for.

If everyone else agrees to drop all votes this round, I'm all for it. None of the votes currently placed have any serious conviction behind them. This has to be unanimous, though, or we'll only be making things worse.

What's that? A cry in the distance you hear?

" I AM NOT A SKINDANCER"

The cry of a startling amount of students reaches your ears, making you wonder as to why such absurd statements are being thrown around. When you go to investigate, asking a nearby student, they respond as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, more simple than the Chandrian or the Amyr.

" Well some one out here can tell if we're lying but they have to focus so we all thought we'd try it out."

'Course, this only increases your confusion. "Skindancer? I did not know that we had Skindancers!"

" Where have you been? They could be anyone, in fact they could even be you!"

" I have been studying for the past 3 terms, unlike you lot."

At this, the student's face scrunches up, clearly readying to tell you off for one thing or another.

" WHY YOU STUDYING WHEN YOU COULD BE KILLED! ONLY A SKINDANCER WOULD HAVE THAT KIND OF CERTAINTY ABOUT NOT DYING!"

This situation was not going well, to say the least. I must leave you now to deal with these crazy students, but please remember that this is a place of education, and not a place of madness (that's the Crockery).

Amari was really worried. People at the University were dying. It wasn't fair that his opportunity to make something of himself, to learn of the world, would become entangled in an effort to preserve the largest institution of learning central to humanity. He still hadn't really met anybody at the University, and didn't know how to actually justify his being at the University during such a time of crisis.

Ok, I started to try and RP a bit, but got busy with life, so it didn't really happen. I do think that the no complaint thing would be a good idea, except isn't there a power that lets you file a complaint in secret? So if a skindancer had that, they could get somebody expelled almost for certain

Would you be willing to remove your vote from me? Edema Ruh, remember?

Okay. Based on that request, I wouldn't remove my vote. He needs to respond for himself. If that happened, I'd be happy to remove my vote. But it does still seem suspicious to me, and nothing you've said has changed that.

However. I think it is perhaps better to remove all votes, so Firemuffin. My point still stands, though, and I do want to vote on you next cycle.

I didn't think there was, Araris. Are we putting down votes? If we are, I'm gonna put a vote on BridgeBoy because I'm concerned about the lies, and Kipper for not turning up...

Exactly. I guess that would have been useful for the people who knew about that...

“Can you just let it go, this one time? I didn’t know that the rule was hard and fast!”

“No,” the Master Artificerererer said flatly.

Well poop.

Kipper rose and faced the Masters’ circle.

“I humbly and sincerely apologize to the Masters and the University as a whole for my reckless endangerment of students while testing new devices.”

Stone-faced, the Masters stared back at him. “You may go,” the Master Sympathist intoned.

Kipper went out as fast as a dignified walk would let him.

Oh, yeah, sorry, I forgot.

Elbereth, IrulelikeSTINK.

That leaves Kynedath and Danosaur. You guys need to hurry up and drop your votes, or someone's going to be expelled.

Wilem walked out of the Stacks to see a girl, Yllish by the looks of her, sitting on the grass singing. He snickered to himself and as he walked by muttered for her to hear, "How would you like to sing to me tonight? I can pay you." He grinned at her. While seeming slightly immature, she wasn't half bad looking and he needed a break from Telari anyways.

Wilem sat down next to the girl on the grass, putting his arm around her shoulder smoothly. "I bet you've no doubt heard of me. Wilem of Atur. The ladies love me." He winked at her.

Inside, he was worried. He hadn't found much to combat any skindancers. The Stacks were empty of any factual evidence of fae. It was all children's stories and legends. Foolish business.

I am not a skindancer.

None of the vote-manipulation powers can cast a secret vote. I think originally there was a Master's secret vote thing, maybe? Which is now the DP system, I think. Or maybe it was the DP system reworded. Regardless, you don't have to worry about that at the moment.

I am not a skindancer.

hmm. so a number of players have been aware that you could ask for your lodging to be put in for you, yet they neglected to mention that to us in thread, even after people have been dying due to forgetting to put in lodging... does that sound like the eliminators to anyone else?

also, I am not a skindancer.

Little more than ten minutes left. Should we put votes back down, or wait a little longer and risk expelling BB and Weaving Webs?

As Touka was singing a boy Introduced himself to her "How would you like to sing to me tonight? I can pay you" he said. Touka looked at him furiously. The boy then touched her, she didn't like that at all. She could feel the anger swelling inside her.

Touka stood up and pulled the boy apparently named Wilem up with her. She said nothing, she let her actions do her talking. Touka unloaded with a barrage of kicks and punches to the boys face and sternum. He put up minimal resistance. She only stopped once Wilem was no longer standing.

"Don't ever touch me again" she said to Wilem, who laid on the ground bloody and clearly in shock. Touka for the first time put her martial arts to use at the University. What the hell do i look like a prostitute. Suddenly she realized she was in public "I hope no one saw that" she said quietly to herself.
