After losing her set of keys, my cremhole of a sister decided to take mine without permission. A fight ensued, and she said that she would not be giving them back. Fine then. I'm done being tolerant. When she gets back, I will ask nicely only once, and then I will TAKE them back. You don't storm with me, and you don't steel my property.

I don't even know what to say. That's awful. I've been keeping an eye on what you've been saying, and I know how bad you have it. I really wish I could personally do something to help, because my heart goes out to anyone in a situation like yours.

As great as hugs are, you sound like you need something more permanent. It almost sounds to me like you need to move out. It's all I can really think of for the moment, and it's probably not a great or a viable idea. But personally I find it easier to deal with the crem life throws at you if you really invest in something worthwhile. A project. A book. Heck, even schoolwork (as much as I hate that). But whatever you choose to do, I'm pretty sure I can speak for every one here that we are here to support you in whatever way we can.

I have a youtube channel, is that like what you were talking about?

Edit: More stuff happened. I'll post more about it later

Last Tuesday I had to rush my cat to the vet because a blood test came back with kidney failure.

She was at the Vet for 48 hours on an IV to flush her kidneys and an antibiotic to clean out infection and give her a chance to recover.

She has been home for a week and we've been giving here multiple pills and liquid medications to stave off infection, and to bind to the naturally occurring toxins in her blood so they bypass the kidneys.

They did a blood test again yesterday and she's gotten worse.

Tomorrow I have to put my cat down.

For the past week, I've gone over everything in my house, trying to determine what she could have ingested that would have caused permanent damage to her kidneys, and literally the only thing in the house capable of doing it is ibuprofen.

My wife refuses to take pain medication of any kind because of her history, so I'm now left with the knowledge that at some point, I must have dropped a pill, and my cat ate it. She's an indoor cat, we have no plants toxic to cats. There's nothing... So I'm sitting here petting a 5 year old cat that should have years left and she is going to die because I dropped a pill.

It's not fair. This shouldn't be happening.

Oh @Calderis I'm so so sorry mate. I'd be utterly devastated to lose my Kitty, and to feel it's your fault... The same thing happened with my sister's cat, who has clear neurological problems as a kitten one day but they flushed her out on time. Same thing. Rusting ibuprofen.

And it doesn't help but try to separate consequence from blame. Even if you dropped a pill, it can happen to anyone, you didn't know the consequences and I hope you can find the strength to not blame yourself.

My heart is with you and your family.

@Calderis I can't say I know your pain, I've never been in a situation where I blamed myself, but I had little kittens dying in my arms because of FPV. It tears you inside, but the wounds heal with time. When you recover, consider taking another cat under your care. Save the life of a cat that's stuck in a shelter or is fighting for it's life on the streets. New companion won't replace the loss, but will help you heal and recover further.

I believe I know how you feel. We have had some stillborn kittens before.

:(

You probably should try to get another cat, but wait a while first. That's what I had to do.

Did she have a good 5 years? I know it doesn't really change how much it sucks right now but 5 good years is better than 2 decades of crem.

Is it at all possible that it was caused by an infection or genetic defect rather than anything she ate? Just don't put too much blame on yourself :(

Hey, appreciate yourself at your  own pace.

:)

I'm usually good about that, I do have very high standards in the quality of my work rather than quantity and 99% of the time I'm able to cope with everything ok. Fortunately that 1% of the time doesn't last very long :) (And I'm back in the 99% now.)

They didn't address anything genetic, but the past week of treatment has been specifically designed to address the possibility of infection. Her test results showed no bacteria in her urine, and her kidney values worse than when the treatment started. They said the rate of deterioration is consistent with her having gotten into Lilies or antifreeze, which she's had absolutely no access to.

I realize that if it was a pill, it was accidental. I know I shouldn't blame myself, but she's just... She shouldn't have to die yet.

I've never had to deal with a pet dying before, because I don't have any, but man that's rough. I know what it's like to blame yourself over something like this, and I'm just gonna tell you to not let it eat you up inside. It doesn't make it any better, trust me.

Oh @Calderis I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty! I know how much it hurts to lose a pet, and that she is still young makes it especially painful. Please don't beat yourself up over the ibuprofen though. It could have happened to anyone, and it was completely an accident that you couldn't have predicted. *hugs*

I know it's not much, but you may find some comfort in the poem "The Rainbow Bridge." I believe I've previously posted it to this thread, or you can find it via a quick Google search. *more hugs*

My mom is a source of a lot of problems for me. She made me work with her almost 10 years ago. She made me come into work today and a few minutes ago we're sorting out a kit, we work at a school, and her instructions are screwy. She first tells me to highlight what isn't there. I go to the next page and she asked if I highlighted everything that was there. I told her what she told me before. She tells me no and that I'm supposed to be highlighting what's there. I go back and start highlighting the first two items and she screams at me "what are you doing!!!" because I highlighted the title like she said.

Can anyone figure out from that if she wanted me to highlight what was there or not?

Teaching others is a unique skill set that not everyone has. Sounds like it wasn't clear what the expectations are and the methods that should be used. Is there someone else that could explain it to you? Best of luck!

She does this all the time though. She'll say one thing but when doing it like she asked it's wrong so she'll do it herself, have it in the exact same way you had it and is now satisfied. She just has that attitude that she doesn't trust anyone to do anything and that she's the only genius in the room.

And no there isn't because we are the textbook people and it's just us. There are people higher than her, but they don't exactly know anything about the textbook field despite being in charge of it.

Sorry to hear that. The only thing I can offer is my life motto when it comes to volunteering and doing someone a favor (out of the goodness of my heart) which is, "If you do not like the speed or the way in which I do things than you can do it yourself!"

Sorry you are having a rough time of it. Hope it improves!

The way she is it won't. This was more I needed to vent and the person I usually vent to wasn't available and I remembered this thread.

I don't like whinging.  But I am having trouble with money.  2 years ago, I lost my high paying job.  Ever since, I just couldn't  land another job.  Now, I've invested into getting into a new business, but not getting customers.

so yeah, 6 months more like this and I'll be in a big financial heap.
