Shai is a follower of the Unknown God/God Beyond.  Is she peculiar in this regard or is it a common belief among the people of MaiPon?

1. Can a hemalurgic spike be awakened, and if so would it be able to use its powers?

2. Are allomantic metals spiritually or cognitively different on Scadrial as opposed to Roshar or Sel?

3. Could Ruin or Harmony influence a spiked person on another shardworld than the one the shard resided on?

4. Is it more difficult to worldhop if you are carrying things with you (like bars of allomantic metals)?

5. Are Lerasium and Atium chemically inert? That is, could they be trapped (through a reaction) in some compound where they could not be burned by a person without being separated?

I might recommend making this more specific, and directly asking, perhaps as a follow-up, "Could an allomancer from Scadrial worldhop to Nalthis, find some pure Nalthian iron, and burn it allomantically"?

As in, would the Awakened spike be able to use its own Hemalurgic powers?

Here's a Skimmer. I've named him Skim. Here's a Windrunner. I've named him  Bob.

Bob likes pranks. He sneaks up on his buddy Skim, and does a Basic Lashing, sending half of Bob's weight upwards in order to make him weightless. Oh, you zany Bob, up to your old tricks I see.

Can Skim, who has access to a half-full metalmind, do anything about this? Can he 'store' specifically the now-upwards-facing half of his weight? Can he tap his stored weight and specify that it be applied to his normal half? Are you able to both store and tap from a single metalmind at the same time?

Well this could be different. I just wanted to know if the metals of individual worlds were distinct. If a person on Nalthis burned lerasium they might be able to access power from Nalthian metals while a Scadrian could not.

Basically. I don't really know the limits of commands that can be given to an awakened object but I think it would be interesting to see if this could happen.

That would be very interesting. "Upon call, store weight, and upon other call, tap weight." We know that hemalurgic spikes can be metalminds; can a hemalurgic spike be its OWN metalmind?

Also, a pewter question: Does it toughen skin? Could someone flaring pewter catch a swordblade without getting nicked?

Two of Shallan's brothers, Helaran and Balat, have been referred to with the "Nan" honorific (which presumably means eldest son?).  Her other brothers also have what appear to be honorifics as well, "Tet" Wikim and "Asha" Jushu.  Are those actually honorifics or are they just parts of their name?

Edit: Fixed quotation mark placement, thanks Meg!

I wondered about that too, in my latest reread. I am inclined to go with the honorifics.

Q: If Harmony were to Invest some of his power into a Scadrian metal, what would that metal be and do?

Sazedium!!! It even has a nice ring to it.

I am inclined to think that if "Harmony" got its own god metal it would be an alloy of lerasium and atium.  That does make me wonder, could Harmony cause the two metals, and maybe alloys of the two, to come into existence without setting up a system like the Pits?

1. Why was Preservation's power so much weaker than Ruin's total power at the end of HoA even though so many people were killed by Ruin?

2. Since Allomancy came about by Preservation investing a small amount of his power in all humans, what power would people have had the roles of the shards been reversed and Ruin had contributed slightly more investiture?

1. Why was Preservation's power so much weaker than Ruin's total power at the end of HoA even though so many people were killed by Ruin?

I thought it was because of the duality between them. Something that wants to Ruin should have more destructive power than something that wants to Preserve.

Requesting this be added to list:

"Is there a correlation between the The Way of Kings parts 'Above Silence' and 'The Silence Above' and the fact that The Silence Divine takes place in the same solar system?"

Or:

"What is the significance of silence in the Greater Roshar System?"

To clarify, HoA stated that Preservation was weaker because he had invested in mankind. Since Ruin kept killing people, I would have thought that the investiture would return to Preservation and upset the balance again, due to Preservation not having a counterpart to Hathsin.

The bloodsealer that aids in confining Shai in The Emperor's Soul is never given a name in the text, what is his name?

Thanks for asking this. Sorry for nitpicking but I think its not "Asha Jushu" but: "Asha" Jushu (so the honorifics (or what else) would be: Nan, Tet and Asha).

...

Preservation was already weakened by forming Ruin's prison, and Preservation's "physical" Shard died in the advent of the end of HoA, so that his powers weren't yet controlled by a mind then, it "flowed around" as long as nobody took it. Ruin's control of his powers by contrast grew again after his imprisoned "part" was released at the Well of Ascension.

Oops, I put the quotation mark in the wrong place! Thanks for pointing that out.

"does picking up a shardblade have the same effect on your soul as recieving a hemalurgic spike?"

Not the same, I doubt, but Shardblades do alter the soul to some extent:

Source:

KURKISTAN

Can Hemalurgy be used to steal Shardblades directly, transferring ownership from the victim to the spike's recipient without a need for the recipient to physically take the Shardblade first?

BRANDON SANDERSON

A novel use of Hemalurgy which is not outside the sphere of its powers.

THE_VIKACHU ()

Another hemalurgy question: Is it possible to steal more than just spiritual DNA with hemalurgy? If you, say, infused someone with a hundred hemalurgic spikes charged from people who liked chicken, would the spike person enjoy chicken as well?

BRANDON SANDERSON

You can steal quite a lot with Hemalurgy. Anything encoded on a person's soul, really. Not sure if chicken liking counts, though...

So getting a Shardblade encodes something onto your soul.

Was Honor able to speak into and/or read people's minds?

Preservation can only read minds and Ruin can only speak into them, are all Shards similarly limited?

Edit:

Does the well that Raoden and Karata use to escape Elantris correspond to the dot in the center of Aon Rao?

Edit 2:

Looking though Elantris and found that last one can't be true, the exact center is the Palace.

This thread has 37 pages now and I don't know whether my question has been asked before but I don't remember (and could find) an answer:

Was mankind cast out of the Tranquiline Halls prior to when Honor and Cultivation came to Roshar or did mankind and Honor and Cultivation arrive together on Roshar?

and:

Had there been Desolations prior to Odium's arrival on Roshar?
