mbot quotes from SS sneak peek

Spoiler

“Not that there’s anything wrong with humans. I find their frail, emotionally unstable, irrational natures quite endearing.”

“Likely,” M-Bot continued, “I regard humans as I do only because I’m programmed to do so. But hey, that’s no different from instinct programming a mother bird to love the twisted, featherless abominations she spawns, right?”

When doing tech for a play you have to mark spots on the stage with tape. This is called spiking.
I’m new to tech and recently learned this. When they called out to start spiking, I got  really scared for a moment.

YKYASW as soon as you taking a class on programming you start thinking of all the great cosmere themed stuff you could make.

Then I think about it some more and start to appreciate how hard making a tiny, semi-functioning game is. I have a newfound respect for developers.

It really is difficult!

When you get a henna tattoo of the Bridge Four glyph on your shoulder. Unfortunately, it'll be gone in a few days...

When you're really excited for Nov. 26 and Dec. 19.

Also, when you sneakily mention the Starsight release being over Thanksgiving break and your mom just says "no." I have my fingers crossed for either the fourth Wax and Wayne book or tRoW releases, though.

When you were anxiously waiting your whole trip to get back to the Shard.

When you carve your pumpkin with the symbol for Scadrial. (It looks really cool... Just saying. Definitely better than my Bridge Four one last year... *shiver* It was bad)... Not only does it look really clean, but i really thinned out the inside of the pumpkin with this scoop thing, so the whole pumpkin sort of glows, too.

I have pictures on my phone, but not on my current device. I'll take some tomorrow, though.

I made a malatium one, I was going to do Bridge Four, but with as bad as my tactics were for this one, I’m glad I chickened out.

When you're seriously considering driving a 40 hour roundtrip to go to the release party for Starsight, but then realize its not doable since you'd have to skip a midterm in order to go. :(

Ouch. Midterms really do get in the way of everything, don't they.

What state are you in? I'm in Utah so I don't need to worry about that stuff (And I'm in Junior High.) When and where is it anyway???

I am planning to go, and it is a 35 hour round trip. I, however, do not have midterms, and since I work at a nationwide company of retirement homes, I can stay as a guest at one of our properties in Utah.:P

I'm in Illinois. And it looks like the release party is at Orem, Utah. Here's a link to the location, time, etc.

You lucky son of a gun. That's gotta cut down on expenses. If I were able to go, I'd be spending so much (in relative terms). On top of paying for a ticket and a hotel, I'd have to rent a car as well if I don't want to use the Amtrak and turn it into a 70 hour roundtrip.

...when you can't read any other fantasy

SO. STORMING. TRUE

My dad just found the entire Wheel of Time series audiobooks online, so I started listening...

I just found it hard to focus on the first chapter, since it didn't have enough character development, let alone worldbuilding. It manages to be plenty slow without helping me understand a thing. Brandon's work is just too darn great.

Yeah, I can take one other person with me and the deal is, they pay for gas on the way out. My only expenses are gas on the way back (~$160) and the meals we don't eat with the old folks (~$5×6).
