Left he/him Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Because Sigs exist to be read, so it actually can't do anything else. Also since it's words(and not the special kind) they can't touch the physical realm. Or can they?
Ketek Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Shoots before dates. Leaves before laziness. Bamboo before mating. The Extinctionstorm comes. The old oaths must be spoken anew. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Shoots before dates. Leaves before laziness. Bamboo before mating. The Extinctionstorm comes. The old oaths must be spoken anew. Does this mean that conservationists are spren and the World Wildlife Fund is the Almighty?

Ah, alright, no sorry, just asking because I spent the past semester studying paradoxes (*makes face*) so I was curious. Thanks!
Ketek Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Does this mean that conservationists are spren and the World Wildlife Fund is the Almighty? I can neither confirm nor deny this.

Ketek Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I like how it's 2.26 in the morning here and 17th Shard is alive

Ketek Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I see what you did there, Vergere. Liespren. Is it... possible? Have I, after all these years, found a fellow Vergere fan? ...Or are you a Fosh Jedi-in-exile playing tricks with me while I lie suspended upside-down on the Embrace of Pain, half-delirious with grief and pain from losing my brother? 1

I used to like Vergere a lot. Then I took a philosophy degree to the knee. (Now, I still like her, just not as much--but I'm going to partly blame the direction LotF took with Vergere for that.) But who knows, maybe I'm just Lightweaving this

But who knows, maybe I'm just Lightweaving this I loved Traitor (and Matthew Stover is one of my favorite authors). LotF totally screwed up Vergere, yeah. Have you read Shatterpoint and Revenge of the Sith's novelization? 2

Have you read Shatterpoint and Revenge of the Sith's novelization? I loved Traitor and I think Matthew Stover is brilliant. I've read both of those and love them--very dogeared copy of Shatterpoint. But in any case--maybe let's not derail this thread further? This is Sanderson appreciation, not Stover appreciation Incidentally, you know you're a Sanderson fan when you give away your old copy of Elantris to the university book sale fundraiser, because you want someone else to come across it and discover Sanderson like you did. 1

I could never give my books up I have lost some over the years, but I'd never willingly give them up.
Left he/him Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I've got an essay asking me what ownership is, which when you start to think about it isn't the funnest essay to write. So I'm using realmatics to explain. 1
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 When you have an inferiority complex because you post mostly in silly threads and don't post intellectually often enough. When you are enough of a fan to care about the above issues in the first place. I like how it's 2.26 in the morning here and 17th Shard is alive Lolz that was exactly 2:26 in the afternoon my time. 2
Baine he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 The silliness is the best part! I just leave the 600-page Realmatic dissertations to the big kahunas. 2
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 The silliness is the best part! I just leave the 600-page Realmatic dissertations to the big kahunas. I try to maintain a healthy balance, however. Everything in moderation. I love the silliness just as much, though!
PorridgeBrick he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I'm pretty sure it's the silly threads that end up occupying 600 pages, not the Realmatic Dissertations. 1
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I'm pretty sure it's the silly threads that end up occupying 600 pages, not the Realmatic Dissertations. That's actually true. Except for the Hidden Things in Map of Roshar thread. That was a monster.
Swimmingly he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 We never did figure out what the secret was, did we?
PorridgeBrick he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 And most of that was spent being silly, anyways. After all, that thread was where Gaston, the Greatshell Roshar is built on, was born. 1
GreyPilgrim he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 We never did figure out what the secret was, did we? I thought it was that fractal thing that forms the shape of Roshar somehow? 1
PorridgeBrick he/him Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 We did find the shape it was based on. We didn't find any significance or reason that may have been behind it, however.
