Silverblade5 he/him Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 (edited) Last Saturday, I climbed Mt. Bierdstat, my first 14er. Left the parking lot at 8:00, summit at 11:00, began the descent at 11:30, and got back to the parking lot at 2:00. On the ascent, that averages a 1000 ft elevation gain per hour. (Pics underneath spoiler tag.) Spoiler Edited June 15, 2018 by Kaymyth Such majestic. Many picture. So photography. Wow. 2

The Forgetful Archivist he/him Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 Those are some incredible markings on its face, absolutely stunning. Am I the only one getting joker vibes from it? 2

StrikerEZ he/him Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 I've been watching videos of Carolina Crown's show this year, and it's looking awesome. I'm so excited to see it live! If anyone else is a DCI fan, PM me. 1
Niteshado he/him Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 After working and moving, after 2 weeks of non-stop, i have a drift event next weekend. finally get to unwind and destress a bit
Steeldancer he/him Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 I got a 5 on AP Bio, 4 in English, and one miracle- a 5 in AP Calc. After failing it for part of the year and feeling awful about the test, I literally have no idea how I pulled it off. 8
Niteshado he/him Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 ALSO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is important. If you DO NOT have a Bug-a-salt gun, you NEED one. It looks like a nerf gun, plastic, pump shotgun style toy looking thing. But...IT SHOOTS A PINCH OF SALT EACH SHOT. This thing is for killing flies, and ive never..had..so..much..fun....... yes, you get a touch of salt here and there. but it kills flies dead, and its too much fun. Im more annoyed that it works so rusting well, and i have no more flies to shoot. 3
Just a Lifetime he/him Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Eep! After five years on the job market (which was becoming increasingly not-fun), I received an offer today. It's even in a place where they speak something resembling English! Somewhat dazed, on the one hand starting to feel again as though I have a future, on the other worried I might screw it up. Well, I think I read somewhere, "Journey before destination". At least I've got a soundtrack already playing. 4
Sunbird she/her Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 I found a bunch of fun "creepy crawlies" at the park today. Butterflies (2 photos): Spoiler Monarch (male) drinking from milkweed flowers: Purplish Copper (male): Dragonfly, caterpillar, and moth (3 photos): Spoiler I swear this dragonfly was the same color as taco sauce. Monarch caterpillar! First one I've found this year. And today I found FOUR. This moth's camouflage was INSANE. It was fluttering around a tree trunk about 10 feet away when I first saw it, and then it landed on the tree but I didn't see exactly where. So I spent several minutes examining the tree trunk trying to find the moth again. What's really crazy is part of the moth's wings that's hidden in the photo is BRIGHT RED. I got a glimpse of it while the moth was fluttering around, but once it landed, the red part got hidden under the rest of the wing. 5

I actually have a ridiculous number of photos saved on my laptop. Mostly birds, but lots of other nature stuff too. I'm working on putting the best of them all up in one place somewhere online, but it's slow going because I have so many to sort through. For now, here are a few more of my recent favorites Birds (4 photos): Spoiler Eastern Kingbird: Mountain Bluebird (male): Chipping Sparrow: American Dipper: Other animals (4 photos): Spoiler Turtle (Red-eared Slider, I think): Calippe Fritillary: Viceroy: Hoary Comma: Flowers (6 photos): Spoiler Lily: Queen Anne's Lace: Malva: Don't know what this one is yet. Zelly Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 (edited) Found a local place with delicious cheap tacos and cheap beer! Made new geek friends! Am getting setup on a date??? Edit: 3 hours later, may have food poisoning. The adventure continues! Edited July 13, 2018 by Zellyia 1
Ammanas Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 (edited) I recently wrote a author (Adrian Selby) telling him how much I appreciated his book and he sent me a message in return. Perhaps I get star struck too easily, but I think its really cool when a author replies to you. He seems like a nice chap and recommend his book Snakewood if anyone is looking for something gritty, avant-garde, and a really cool magic system. Edited July 15, 2018 by Ammanas

Thank you They don't let their kittens go until they're sixteen weeks at least. I'm perfectly fine with that since it will let her settle into my home more easily.
