Yomen was starting to hate these damn caverns. No matter where he went, he thought he was being followed. That there was a spiked servant of Ruin lurking around the corner, waiting to attack him.

He was right.

The ground began to shake, more violently than it had in weeks, and someone leapt out of the shadows at him. Yomen burned atium, the tiny bit he had left, and dodged. He subdued his assailant quickly, then went running for his guards.

To find the cavern in complete chaos. People were randomly attacking each other. The ceiling was falling all around them. He had to use the atium shadows to avoid several falling stalactites. Others were not so lucky.

In the middle of it all were dozens of figures assailing Chanarash, the stranger from another world. She swung about her with that giant sword of hers, and people fell to the ground, their eyes burning in their skulls. Yet the still came at her, over and over again. The woman was glowing, but it dimmed as she took more and more wounds. Yomen's guards were trying to help her as best as they could, but Yomen knew she wouldn't last.

None of them would.

So he ran. He ran as far as he could, past screaming skaa and children. Past huddled nobles, mere shadows of their former great selves. He ran to the entrance to the cavern. Maybe it wasn't so bad outside? Maybe Lord Elend had been wrong. Maybe-

He came to a sudden stop. Someone else had had the same idea. Several someones, in fact. They were all dead, and Yomen was horrified to see the world on fire outside. He stumbled forward, reaching for the body closest to the outside. They had been scrawling something on the ground. Was it a way to survive? Perhaps a final message? Yomen bent down to see what it was.

Almost Heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growing like a breeze

Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama
Take me home, country roads

It was...some kind of song?

He had little time to think as he felt a sharp pain his chest. He looked down to see a jagged piece of metal piercing his heart.

When had he run out of atium?

As his life slipped away and the world ended, he heard a cackling voice.

I HAVE WON.

Oh what a shame

But truly it was a fun game! I had fun being elim again. Thanks striker!!

oh well

Guess I was too engaged that you guys accurately pinned me as the Seeker :P

I confess to some frustration that the Elims were pretty quiet and unengaged in the thread and that led the village to basically keep shooting themselves, but that's how the game goes.

Thanks to Araris and TUO for chatting and bantering back and forth in PMs! Strategizing with you guys was my favorite part of the game!

Yet again, I die.

I do this every game; it's not healthy for my characters at all.

Well, that was nice. Having Pewterarm powers was easier to explain since I could just say it was Stormlight. I don't need some unexplained lerasium alloys...

Well, now my win-rate is 50%.

That's a stacked team if I've ever seen one.

Yeahhhh, I thought it would be fun to try a bit of a different distro. I thought I balanced the elims by giving the village three Thugs, a Lurcher, an Oracle and a Seeker. But the elims managed to make almost all of their shots against non-Thugs and power roles.

I think the game was mechanically balanced. We had all the info we needed to solve the game during D3, distro-wise. I just had too much of a bias toward TJ to be able to swap onto Sart once he claimed Coinshot to me. Not to mention his D3 post was decently convincing. Of course, the fact that the game was fairly solvable based on the distro could be a problem itself.

Thanks to @StrikerEZ for running the game, and to @little wilson for IMing! I hadn't played a "standard" LG for quite some time now, and I had a lot of fun. Chatting with @Doc12 and @|TJ| was great, even if we never got things figured out.

It's true, I was the chaos gremlin :P

Elims did really well this game. I'm washed. Congratulations to elims, and it was great to play here again.

It wasn't horrible, though I think the elims probably should have had one of their roles. A Thug, Coinshot, and Smoker is just a lot. You can't Seek them reliably, you can't exe them reliably, and the village isn't quite busted enough to obviously justify a e!Coinshot.

I clocked it immediately after you died, but everyone else seemed to not agree and I didn't have the confidence to disagree with the majority.

Yeah, it was really fun going back and forth, especially after learning your role recontextualized everything. You and Araris's PM was probably hilarious.

Hands down the funniest part was that Araris was going to try the 'I'm a seeker' thing on ME 😂 And then I had to pretend I knew nothing about Araris' plan to your face.

Like I said in the dead doc, it hurt that I died n2. I could have prevented the TJ lynch d3 and probably got him to protect me for the next couple of nights. prolonging the game, but alas!

Apologies to Striker for sending so many PMs (my highest count was Araris with 66 messages and lowest was Sart and Walin with 8 messages which given context...🤨), but they were my favorite part of the game :D

Hey! I was talkative :P

Well, that was fun, tho unfortunately I was not nearly as active as I usually am. Hopefully next game I can get back into the grind. Congrats to the elims team, and many thanks to @StrikerEZ, who bore my musical messages with much grace.

Oh...whoops. I lost track of time the past couple days and kept thinking I would return to the thread in time to participate before rollover, and just opened the thread for the first time to see that we won.

Yeah, that's my bad. I should have been way more active than I was.

Maybe I'll do Walin justice next Mistborn first-trilogy game, if I'm free to participate then! Intended to brush up by reading his chapter for better RP, but my copy of The Final Empire is back at my parents' house and I forgot to go to the library to check out another copy. Good game, everyone, the deck was stacked against you.

Damn it, I was horribly wrong with one of my reads and absolutely spot-on with my other one xD

Thanks for running the game, @StrikerEZ, it was a very fun distro! And yeah, it was fun to plot about with @Araris Valerian and @Doc12

Congrats on the win, guys!

Wait, there was actually a Spiked Coinshot? I'm so mad that I was too busy to sign up to play now. This will be fun to read through now.

I was very tempted to bribe you to play with the Spiked Coinshot’s existence lmao
