I’m confused with the voting. Aren’t people supposed to put their votes in the spreadsheet?
Kas’s count has TJ at 6, but the spreadsheet says he only has 3 votes. Which one is accurate?

That spreadsheet is only editable by me. It is not currently up to date, as I am at work, and do not have access to a computer.

@Lord Spirit part of your confusion might also be that you’re forgetting votes carryover for the rest of the game. So TJ got 3 votes in D1, so those 3 carryover for the rest of the game.

@Kasimir I’m thinking about your question btw. I’m just driving (not literally this moment) and I’ll get back to you about who I’d go for after TJ when I’m done ubering for the day.

  3. @The Unknown Order Two
  4. @YEVAD Two
  5. @IcedOutPenguin One
  6. @|TJ| Six
  7. KaladinsSenseOfHumorSpren Executed Turn 1
  8. @ThatOneWorldhopper Two
  9. @Negative_Null Two
  10. @RoyalBeeMage Two
  11. @Lord Spirit One
  12. @Tinwatcher One
  13. @THE DEMON Two
  14. @StrikerEZ Two
  15. @Aster Two
  16. @Kasimir Teo

Wait when did I get votes? Did I miss something?

I would cautiously venture a Striker proposal, not seriously, just saying that imo, people that take this much of a leadership role are often elims. Granted, my meta could be different, and y'all might have a better idea. But putting it out for discussion.

As far as I'm aware, I don't see any reason to dogpile on TOW except for the vote erasure, which who knows what that means.

With so many votes on TJ I'm thinking about putting a vote on someone else for later, or in case the Elims do something wack again. If we have this many people tied for Two votes at the end of the cycle, that would be bad

You’re currently voting for yourself

This is also a bit of an activity issue. Only five people have actually voted.

One note: there are some people, including me, who have voted on TJ twice. If we want him to lead the exe, we can’t, as of now, put anyone else above three votes, at the risk of triggering a tie.

Well yes but I didn't vote for myself last time and I didn't see anyone else doing it. Oh well, Jo will figure it out in the end.

Yes, that does make it a little bit confusing to plan out who to vote for, but thanks for pointing it out.

I still think that making sure we don't have a tie in second place should be a high priority, so I'll save my vote on myself until tomorrow morning (for me)

It’s also possible I miscounted

We’ll get a bit more leeway if we put a bit more on TJ, but this is obviously a problem for once we have someone

I’ll put out a bit of analysis in about an hour

I totally forgot about ties. They're bad right?

I vote TUO. (That feels too weird. I'm going to have to keep calling you TUF)

I don't think the elims would do something so obvious as clear TJ's votes, so the person who immediately told us why that would make TJ an Elim is under my suspicion.

However, I'm e!leaning more StrikerEZ, mostly from just vibes and maybe TUO was too quick, so this vote will probably change.

Alright. There is 3 and a half hours left.

I'll be leaving in 10 mins and be back in ~1 hour.

So, who is actually awake and online?

EDIT:

I need to know how many votes can be redistributed. @RoyalBeeMage, @StrikerEZ and @IcedOutPenguin voted me. Myself, TJ himself and @ThatOneWorldhopper voted TJ. I can retract my vote if I won't die doing so.

The fact that TJ didn't vote can mean three things:

  • 1) He's village and forgot
  • 2) He's elim and forgot
  • 3) He's elim and trying to make it seem like he's village by voting himself

I think 2) is unlikely as his team would ensure that he votes.

EDIT 2: Roy lives in South East Asia and should be awake.

That was posted late evening for me… I was stuck in dt all of yesterday crashing out about my project and when I got home at 7pm it was straight to rendering

What would make the person who told you why someone else is an elim make them an elim

Actually, saying that out loud I see your point.

Playing devil’s advocate for a bit, do you remember LG103? In defense of me, TUO himself did some stupid stuff to save my skin, specifically pushing Kas.

Elims tend to self-preserve.

The issue here is the very fact that ties kill both. Killing as many villagers as possible, as fast as possible, is ideal eliminator gameplay. Dragging out exes works in games with a night kill, where you can whittle the village down, but with this strategy, you end up with two cycles doing what you could have in one, and the village has another cycle of information to work with.

Additionally, there’s other places you could remove votes suspiciously without bringing in a tie: the votes on me, the vote on Kas, and the vote on TUO.

You get the easy kills and the suspicious erasure at the same time.

I’ve thought about it more, and no. TWTBAW doesn’t apply here.

Does that make sense?

Sorry I’m late! I don’t have my phone most of the day, and computer access is limited. After reviewing everything, I’ma leave my vote on myself, though I’m venturing a theory that ThatOneWorldhopper is an elim, and the elims cleared his votes a) to save |TJ| or to frame him, and b) to remove suspicion from TOW. But this is literally my first game, so I’m probably wrong, which is why I’m leaving my vote on myself.

Also, someone else vote for me; I feel like if I’m ignored long enough, someone’s gonna assume I’m an Elim.

Also, @KelsierApologist, What’s TWTBAT?

I don't disagree but as TUN says, it takes a really specific comp. It's kinda like a frame kill where it requires some thread control, though it's a bit easier than a NK in some respects because there is a more obvious smoking gun. This means it is possible to do two generally mutually-exclusive possibility analyses for worlds and look for compatibility with our current gamestate. Not to mention vote analysis.

I think we are likely going to have to flip TJ regardless - however, I will be dead and in my dotage before I consent to waste a cycle by deciding the exe less than two hours into it (not at you, this is a more general statement.) I'd like to hear TJ's views on his survival, too.

Yeah, I'm not sure I see the difference between voting me out C1 or the same happening in C2, so I'm not sure about the motives of the vote manip.

Venturing a guess, (and this relates to the bolded part in the quote), I could see a team with low thread control go for a foregone concluded exe. Basically, remove the vote and don't really have to think hard about who to vote tomorrow in this cycle.

Reason no. 2 would be, they had a vote cancel and they wanted to use it/ didn't want to waste or holster it. In this case, I'd be suspicious of Polly because, if they had cancelled a vote off the Ksos train, we'd all be removed and the only reason they wouldn't want that is if Polly is evil.

Reason no. 3 is quite silly but I've been in games scratching my head at things at things don't make sense and it's usually because the elim team messed up. This would actually be my best guess. Sometimes it's just that, elim teams do things that don't make sense accidentally. I don't think Worldhopper ever moved off me, so it's not a timing thing. I don't think anyone ever voted for Worldhopper, so it wasn't the case where they thought they were removing a vote off him. So what I'm thinking is...they just got the wrong name. With all the acronyms and the long names and the new players, I think it's plausible that they sent in the wrong name. In this case, Worldhopper would be village because the elims would know their teammates and would not mistake their identity.

In terms of reads, I only have one - I'm leaning village on negative null.

After the clusterchull that is the last game, I made an argument that e!him would want to get rid of me asap, so him trying to not get me killed here is NAI, but I feel much better about his read on me and that it's coming from a good place than when compared to the last game. Or maybe it's the guilt talking.

Okay, I’m finally home. I’ve had some time to think on this…and I’m honestly just really confused. I tied my brain in knots going back and forth on whether or not TJ is an elim. And if he is, who would be our next best target. Maybe Polly? Maybe Kas for starting the Polly train? Maybe Iced for being just…odd. Somehow I spent all that thinking and ended up more confused than before.

Whatever we do though, we gotta avoid ties. I know that much

EDIT: It pains me to say we have to avoid ties because I storming love ties :(

Who did TUO end up voting for last turn?

StrikerEZ for now, but still unsure about |TJ| and TUO.

Striker had a weird comment earlier, which it will not let me bring in, but it's the first thing he said in C1. I'm with |TJ|'s vibes on it.

why is everyone saying we have to avoid ties? i think ties are actually good

elims have to react if they’re part of a tie and there’s a far higher probability of actually getting one

I'm actually thinking maybe a e/e @IcedOutPenguin/ @BigBadBagsworth. Their interaction: "but that's mean" "okay" seemed off to me. Keeping vote on Striker for now, but...

I need to make a spreadsheet.

Edit: tagging because I really want to hear their explanation.

I have no idea what I'm doing. And it was mean for them to vote for me!

….someone…who gets why I like ties??? You’re my new favorite.

Anyway, as someone who would love to just tie everything up all the time, the reason I think others are wary of ties is because it does the elims’ job faster for them. And because of their vote manip, they can just keep saving themselves from ties if that’s all we do.
