Ver ignored this quizzically.

That... made a little bit of sense, but there was still a lot left vague.

"Define the "chaos". If by chaos you refer to free will, then your leader could be as big of a threat to be dealt with as the Cloud."

"Mmmm. Yes. Again, Word."

“First of all - he’s not my leader.”

He paused. “No. Not free will. Conflict. Any conflict. Period.”

"So, an end to conflict, regardless of the victor."

Ver considered that. The easiest way to prevent conflict would be to keep the current systems in power; systems that destroyed entire worlds over a virus infestation. That couldn't be allowed to happen. He approached Of.

"How close is SoW to achieving their goals? How would they achieve them? This is IMPORTANT information. Why didn't you tell us earlier?" He looked at him accusatively.

“…sorry, but I have talked to you like… a total of… one time. SoW… well… he isn’t close. There are a few things that would help him.”

He frowned. “Like my power, currently in Star’s possession.”

Jidah smiled. You’ve come a long way, Ver.

Jidah smiled. "Thank you."

What does your watch do?

It was clear she knew he was lying.

She tilted her head. "Wouldn't it be easier to deal with your anger issues than to depend on Oxy all the time?"

Sigismund swallowed. "It... it lets me jump forward in time. It also lets me reset things back to their original forms. For example, I can turn glass into sand, or paper into wood. I won't be giving it up, so if you don't like it then I'll just stay here until everyone else gets back."

She nodded thoughtfully. I won't be able to let power like that through. I apologize. Both of those things threaten the fabric of what we've created.

"Right. How long will they be in there?" He glanced at his watch again.

Ver nodded, calming himself.

"Yes, apologies. You frightened me, is all."

The talk of threats reminded him of the ongoing situation in Açila. He turned to Kelyx.

"It has been nice to meet you, but I must admit, reuniting with Jidah is not the sole reason we came here. As I'm sure you are aware, the Cloud has a presence on the world you found us in, and is currently in the process of Rebooting it. We have a fortnight at most, being highly optimistic, before the process is completed and billions are killed.

"But the solution to the problem is not so simple as stopping the Cloud - not that that's simple at all. The world has been infested by a critical population of viruses. If unchecked, these viruses pose severe threats to the Web and the Framework. We were hoping for your aid, at the very least your advice, in tackling this situation."

Likely not much longer.

"I don't know if I wanna go," Jidah said softly.

“Hm. Stars doesn’t seem the type to commit to much past aiding her people. I think I know a people who may be able to help us if this doesn’t work - but be warned. They… they aren’t like most.”

In someone's backpack, the fox uncurls and pops his head out, now a brilliant blue.

"We're avoiding the Stel'Elt?"

“Interesting. Them peoples are going to try to convince them to help us - I believe I have a bit of a detour.”

He looked to the fox. “So. If you go with them… could I have a hair of yours? I don’t currently have my power, so I’ll have to use that to meet back up with the group. I believe the Slumber, and the travel, will disorient me to the point that I will not be able to find the Plot again.”

@Bird Furious

Addressing their guide,

”I believe I would like to leave early, I am afraid.”

He and the fox were teleported almost instantly back to Custom anyway, because the Stars were livid that the fox had managed to slip past them.

We are aware. The fact that he blinked into reality WITHIN the Pocket without going through Custom disturbs us. That is our mistake.

Theeeennnnn… I am leaving anyway. Can you transmit to me the specific DNA of one of their party? I will need to find them again.

I will also need my power back.
