"Alright. You can now return to Açila if you wish." Ver hesitated for a second. "I don't know how long our quest will take us. Once you land on Açila, try to make contact with the Fox or one of the weird guys. I'll stay in touch." He turned to look around at Lati and Jidah, in case they wanted to say anything else.

“The weird guys?”

“The weird guys?”

“Of. Spirit. Wrath. I have concluded that even among living beings, they are unusual.” Ver looked quite proud at the conclusion.

Of appeared at his name. “Woah. I heard my name. I’m back, and I have some… unusual friends (other than the other two). They’ll come at my call.”

Ver reeled back from his sudden reappearance, and immediately became alert.

"I... see. We were discussing our next plan of action. I believe you mentioned at some point knowing someone who could help our quest in Açila?"

Mentally, Ver tried to form a map in his head, plotting out where everyone was going.

“Yep - these people. They’re a bit grotesque, so be ready for that.”

"Yes. I do agree with this. I have come to this conclusion before too." Oxy says, nodding his head.

"Oh. You're here."

Lati didn't say anything.

She wasn't . . . entirely sure what was going on.

But she wanted to stay with Jidah.

That was certain.

“Yep! As well as a few friends… but they’re on stand-by. I wouldn’t get to close to them if you are made of organic materials. Or inorganic - with Nergal at the front seat of the Plague, I’m not sure its limits.”

"Define material."

“…yes. Anything. Nergal is quite powerful.”

"even... Presence?"

Note: No, Not even Presence.

“Depends. Is Presence as powerful as Nergal? A (synonym for primal without actually using the word becuz that means something else in this context) god?”

"Yes. Prescence is the main material gods are made from."

“Hmm. Nergal… Nergal is powerful, and the Plague mutates. I don’t suggest prolonged contact, because even omnipotent immune systems cannot stand against the God of Death for too long - it will eventually find a way around. That is what it does. Don’t worry, though. These people, although infected, are not working for Nergal.”

"Us Primals would have... ways to counteract that. But still I see your point. I will stay away from them"

Ver watched the rapid events surrounding him, and tried to lay the threads out in his head.

He, Ver, had made an agreement with the Stars; to restore Jidah's divinity, and in exchange, receive their support in saving the people of Açila. He expected to be accompanied by Jidah and Lati.

Of and his cohorts had briefly left the realm of the Stars, along with the Fox. Now, they had returned, claiming mysterious allies - and throwing around terminology Ver struggled to understand. Ver was still uncertain of their allegiance; for now, he simply had to hope they were on the same side.

Réva, for her side, had expressed interest in returning to Açila to help 17, and Ver was happy to leave her to it. He had already equipped her with a cookie, allowing them to communicate across long distances.

Despite his returned sanity, Oxy still remained an X factor.

Ver turned to him.

"I have no doubt of the power of your allies. But I need to know, urgently, of your motivations. Are you an ally, or an enemy? Will you help the people of Açila? We have no time for subtlety. These terms you use... the 'Plague', 'Nergal', they are unfamiliar to me. And yet, they sound very dangerous. I need to know if we can work together, or if our paths stray."

"Do not bring that misbigotten plague ball into this." the fox squeaks from wherever they are.

The Wolf hums in agreement I will devour him. The shadow hisses.
