They are here too.

Now aware of the hair, the Stars isolated the signal and ejected the hair back to its native world.

Of shrugged, and left. He didn’t need it, now that he saw where it pointed.

He started in that direction.

Sure. It’s still not gonna work out for him going back— the Stars are basically gods too.

In a fight, sure. The fox is a trickster god, not a war god.

It's not part of that world and if it got tied to it, the Stars would just harvest the energy from the bonds and be done with it

So was Lati.

"I love you, Jidah," she said quietly.

"Oh..."

She smiled. "Thank you."

She snuggled up further.

"So . . . when are we going to go?"

"I'm not sure."

The Star stared at him.

Impossible. To do so would be to expose ourselves to weakness beyond the Pocket.

Ver looked at the Star, and made one final plea.

"Please. If you do not lend us help, we will seek it elsewhere. But every moment we take, billions of lives remain in danger. Innocent lives. Will you abandon them to this fate?"

Our mission is our only concern. Retrieve Jidah’s divinity, hold up the end of your bargains, and perhaps we can parley more.

“Might I ask for your help in saving one more person?”

By remaining neutral, we save thousands. We may be willing to possibly gamble the divinity of several Sennights to aid, but first, Jidah's must be recovered as promised.

Ver nodded. It was something.

"I pledge to do everything in my power to recover Jidah's divinity. In exchange, I plead you, help the people of Açila." There. That was what they needed. But there was one final thing weighing on Ver's mind...

"One last thing. There is... something missing from me. I cannot access my memories. If it is not too much to ask, I would seek your help with that as well."
