What do all of you hope the additional vision will include?

Im hoping it confirms my theory of the shattered planes being the place honor died and maybe cultivations involmement.
I have a tiny theory that the other time Odium was terrified was when another new shard ascended in my mind Harmony
thought i know that narratively that wouldn't be very satisfying.

For now I think they're going to show us exactly what's been said in the previews, the selection of the Heralds, the arrival to Roshar from Ashyn and the death of Honor.

What things do I think we won't be able to see?

The exact moment when the Heralds go from being "normal" humans to Heralds themselves and things about the past of the Stormfather himself.

I'm certain it won't happen, but a girl can dream:

The Shattering of Adonalsium. Tanavast was there, it is key info for a future Vessel to have so it could make sense for him to include this when setting up the visions. Narratively, this certainly could be the point where we get something on page about the Shattering because we are getting all this stuff about Hoid onscreen now, it would help contextualize that and be kind of a turning point/new era of Cosmere books. And this could be how we get the name of the last Shard.

Maybe more realistically: what Roshar was like before the Shards arrived vs after, and the forming of the Oathpact.

Maybe the forming of the Oathpact? Or whatever happened near Threnody to cause things to be so messed up there?

1. The imprisonment of BaM

2. The founding of the oathpack

3. Death of honor

4. More about the Dawn shards

5. More hints at least about void binding.

6. The coming of humans roshare

7. The first desolation.

8. The betrayal of the spren by the singers

9. More of the old magic.

10. The origins of the Ameins

I think because of Gavilar's misconceptions and knowledge that there might be more visions of the Heralds and oathpact origins.
Plus more visions of the original desolations, and battles. I think the Dalanar saw more of the fake desolation, but never who the enemy was?
Gavilar knew Parshendi were voidbringers, and that they had "gods" that he mistook maybe the Fused for?
So he had to have seen more of that than Dalanar was shown.

More about the oathpact, because it will either be reformed or fully obsolete by the end of the book.

More about the death of Honor, because the Shard will be reformed or combined by the end of the book.

One strange thing here: it seems logical from the hints that Gavilar saw more about the heralds, yet he says in the prologue:

Quote

They are my colleagues, yet I could not pick them out of a crowd.

And he didn't recognize Kelek and Nale. Yet they cannot have changed so much in appearance, Jasnah recognizes Taln and Shash from Hoid's drawings.

Anyone any ideas how that fits together?

Because Gavilar is an arrogant oaf? Maybe he wasn't directly shown the Herald's appearances in the Visions? I don't think Dalinar ever saw them in his own Visions.

His knowledge on them might just be from asking the Stormfather questions while being in the abandoned honorblades vision. The location invites discussion but gives no clues on the people who left their swords.

They’re wearing shardplate in the visions, presumably.

Agree - particularly from one of the last things Tanavast said in the "original" visions:

Quote

"without the dawnshards..."

So would make sense to delve a bit deeper into Honour's memories of these? And given we know Sigzil is due to hold a dawnshard at some point this book, it would make thematic sense to get some more lore on them, beyond what we've seen with Rysn?

So far as we know Heralds probably didn't have Shardplate, though it's not impossible.

He sees Jezrien in one of them, but I believe that's all.

Normally? Most people don't recognise others that easily if the circumstances are different. Jasnah or Shallan were actively looking for them.

Tough he appears not to have seen Nale - when talking about heralds appearance, Gavilar compares it to old paintings, not to his own experiences.
