I'm not quite sure I want to commit to a ten month thing. I have a pretty long focus on something, but I don't know if I want to keep doing this is basically a year.

Maybe length of story and end date are decided by individually by each group?

That is what I hope for, choices by the group, but giving a long enough time for any groups that want to have a long story if need be. We can cut it short if everyone is done

that would probably work better for many groups mine included... i have a short attention span when it comes to writing though I have been working on my current wip for a while now so I think I'm improving!

Think about it as a max. Realistically, I think we would spend a couple of months with an extended plan, but those who are dedicated could last up to ten.

(Also, maybe a reasonable timeframe would be 3 weeks? A lot of people don't seem to have the time to commit entirely for a 10 month period, since a lot can change in 10 months)

That is why there are teams.  They can help you through the process.
