The portal to Eltelia was a large, ornate iron gateway; the sort that wealthy Vangari could afford to lead into the courtyards of their manors. Metal was something of an opulence in a world built of bamboo and wood—not the sort of thing people went and sought at all too willingly. The likes of pewter lanterns and nickel silverware were locked up tight every night for that very reason.

This one in particular led to a decently sizeable house, made of brick stones and oak wood up to two stories (plus an attic). It was almost perfectly square, with a sort of rustic, earthy feel to it; led into by the tall cobblestone wall surrounding the front yard. Thick velvet curtains, wood-shaft shutters, a gleaming iron doorknob, and old vines adorned the walls.

Kris stood at the receiving end of the portal, tapping his foot like he always did when the last couple minutes before a mission started seemed to drag on and on for hours. He’d put in this mission request weeks ago, but Fadran had been uncharacteristically steadfast in his putting off the deployment - the Mishmash Inn, he said, was nearly finished.

All that meant to him was that there were probably going to be a whole load of green recruits this time around. Hopefully they weren’t the likes to cause any unnecessary trouble, but there was really no telling with the folks Fadran seemed to rope into his “Fellowship.”

But whatever. Business was business. One way or another, they’d figure this out.

A boy stepped through the portal, very young and with blood dripping from a long cut on his arm. He looked at Kris, expression emotionless except for and odd intensity or focus.

Gone and Cufre could come in here now maybe.

"You're Kris? Think you can help with the bleeding kid?"

Kris procured a roll of bandages out of thin air, then moved to wrap up the cut. And damaged ones, at that.

Gone looked at Tacien, looking slightly naseous. "What is it?" he asked nobody in particular.

It's about time for me to go to bed... g'night or day or whatever it is where you are!

"What?" Cufre approached. "Why aren't you letting him bandage it?"

"I don't know."

Kris pulled away. "That's not a small cut. Are you sure?"

"One second." Cufre knelt down next to his brother, who remained emotionless. "Look, I get that it's a bad day for you, and I don't know why you're cut, but you can't just not bandage that. It'll get worse."

After a moment, Tacien stood up and took the bandages from Kris and began carefully wrapping the wound himself.

I'm probably going to have to go for the night.

Bookwyrm stepped through the portal and took stock of his surroundings. A good sized simple house stood in front of him, as well as some other Fellowship members and a man Bookwyrm didn't recognize.

Windaphra, hidden to the eyes of others, flitted up beside his head. His two dragons were resting in his soul.

Let's see how this goes.

He walked up to the group, noticing Tacien wrapping his arm with a bandage. Bookwyrm wasn't sure where the injury had come from.

"Are you okay?" he asked the young boy, knowing that he probably wouldn't get a coherent response. He turned to Cufre. "Do you know what happened?"

Tacien kept wrapping the large cut.

"I have no idea where he got it. He didn't even want to bandage it at first."

"I'm Gone," he said. He didn't offer any explanation for why he was bear-crawling or for his clothes. The person most likely didn't care, anyway.

Kris cleared his throat.

"So who are... all of you?"

Silver turned from running his finger down the indents in the brick wall to answer. "Silver," he replied. "Are you... Kris?"

"That is correct." He held his hand out to the man who seemed to be the only fully-matured one here.

"So what's up with this?" asked Silver, gesticulating.
