Y'all, I really need to know
If any of y'all have read The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion

As someone who does NOT like horror movies,
I want to say that The Sixth Sense is an incredible movie.

Here's a poem/potential song (folk-y vibes, possibly?) I wrote!
SpoilerMy soul alone grew bitterly cold
Losing my light, losing my light
But a stranger came and cleared my sight
Silver and gold, silver and gold
His touch made the world feel bright
Losing my light, now all is silver and gold
You see the beauty, you say it's so stark
Shimmering joy in a world grown so dark
You see the colors I don't understand
You have such courage and hold to my hand
Give me the courage to hold to your hand!
My love took a voyage far away
Ever apart, ever apart
In a ship that shone with stolen stars
Silver and grey, silver and grey
Oh, the keeper of my heart
Ever apart, silver and silver and grey
Show me the beauty you say is so stark
Shimmering joy in a world grown so dark
Show me the colors I don't understand
Help me have courage to hold to your hand
I cannot live without holding your hand
My love, he sailed into the sky
Why did you go? Why did you go?
For you told me I deserved to know:
Silver and white, silver and white
You told me love can always grow
Why did you go? Silver and silver and white
You showed me beauty you said was so stark
Shimmering joy in a world grown so dark
You showed me colors I didn't understand
You gave me courage to hold to your hand
Now I have courage to let go your hand
But where did you go? Silver and silver and white
Why did you go? Silver and silver and white

Anybody read the Jackaby series by William Ritter? I read it on @IheartKaladin4eva's recommendation and L O V E D it. It's not very well known, so I kinda doubt it...

It's a girl who goes to America in search of a job and ends up being employed by Mr. R. F. Jackaby, a detective who specializes in paranormal investigation. He's very quirky and his thing is that he is "the Seer", which means he sees auras of magical creatures and other things. It's a lot of fun, Jackaby cracks me up! The fourth book made me cry!

To my Hadestown buddies:
SpoilerMovie: yea or nay?
When Orpheus turns: "It's you/It's me" or "You're early/I missed you"?
-
Nay, hadestown needs to be experienced live, it was written that way and it’s the kind of performance that shouldn’t be seen recorded.
No so those were the original lyrics (which you probably already know lol) and I think it’s you/it’s me is better musically and just slaps but you’re early/I missed you brings in the most epic thoughts about hades and persophone
-
yea because i need to be able to watch it in the comfort of my house
i mean they’re making a pro-shot so i’ll be set :3
and i prefer “it’s you/it’s me” just cuz i think it flows better and the “you’re early/i missed you” is just such a classic hades/persephone moment that i think it would take away from literally the most important/impactful moment in the entire musical by bringing the attention back to hades and persephone
like i LOVE the full-circle moment of the “you’re early/i missed you” idea that Anaïs had at first, but like the scene needed to be its own thing cuz it’s
yk it’s THE MOMENT

but what about we broke people who can't afford to go see it
I think that it could be really cool, to kind of illustrate the more abstract stuff. Not necessarily de-abstractify too much, but I just think that if you had a good creative team, they could do an amazing job taking the lyrics and the vibe and the whole awesomeness of the show and making some gorgeous settings and visuals. I just love the whole vibe of the show and I think it could stand some adaptation into a movie. Of course I am excited for the pro shot though
Well also my school did it with the You're early/I missed you and it blew my mind and broke my heart and I really really loved it, so there's that. I do like the brevity and concision of It's you/It's me though
