cool cool, I'm glad that works

[I'm gonna keep this loose because @InfiniteInsanity isn't here to tell us what Fiadh's doing]

Whist made her way over to the alley with the girl. She went in a ways, and then crouched behind some larger cargo boxes. Hopefully they would be completely hidden from the street here.

Now time for part 2 of plan B: back to plan A: Getting Information

"Whats your name?" Whist asked the girl.

She wasn't entirely convinced this girl was innocent. She didn't really know what to think.

Fiadh was a bit confused. Everything had happened so fast. She had just kind of been following Whist. As they crouched behind the cargo boxes she sorted out facts while the other two talked. The older woman was Whist. Whist was nice, she had helped bandage Fiadh's leg and had given her food. Whist also had given her a hug. And then she had defended the other girl. The other girl seemed nice too, but Fiadh wasn't entirely sure about her. And then Whist had knocked out the lady who was definitely not nice. And now they were in an alleyway crouched behind boxes.

Fiadh sighed and then sat on the ground. Crouching kind of hurt. She looked at Whist, waiting to see what happened. Maybe it would help things make sense.

"This isn't quite finished yet." Vance finished tying up the Bunny, stepping back for a moment to admire his handiwork. It thrashed in its bonds, still half-dazed from the gash in its head.

"Oh yes" Quest said, beginning to summon his magic. Green light started to glow from the grass on the ground as it began to grow. Quest guided the plants to began growing around the bunny. The vines looped around, ensnaring the limbs and climbing up the bunny's side.

Quest slumped over, leaning on his staff to stay upright. He doesn't usually have to use this much magic. Stupid death bunny.

"That should be able to hold it for a while, can we kill it somehow?"

Don't we have flying eels to ride on/pull boats too?

What's the current situation with the dock storylines?

Enner reached into himself, feeling the essence within him. He was surprised at the depths of his Savvour reserve, but then again, he hadn't used it since influencing the captain to let him on for so cheap, and he had been around more people than ever before. Well, other than Sindix, but they didn't really count since they produced so much less Savvour than the Oceaneirids that crewed this boat. His Luax on the other hand, was fairly empty, he had been spending too much time in the sleeping deck, not enough time in the sun. He smiled, he didn’t need much Luax right now anyways.

Enner scanned the docks, looking for a convenient target. There, he thought. With a small burst of Luax, he severed the cord tethering a sleeping Umbral to the dock. Using Savvour, Enner took control of it, waking it up and bringing to the edge of the ship. None of the crewmembers seemed to notice. He looked back, making sure the captain didn't see, and jumped onto the Umbral, flying it full speed for the docks. Then someone noticed.

"Hey, you, where are you going?" It was a crewmember, not the captain, that meant he had time. A smile touched his lips at the thrill of the chase. He couldn't quite make out what they were saying, but he knew the captain would be after him soon. If he wanted his money that was.

Enner turned back just in time to see a burly Draa woman leap off the ship with a spear in each hand. Unlike normal Draa, she was not covered in wood and other plant like armor. This one was covered in pale green metal, which Enner somehow knew would glow in faint enough light. The Draa flew a little closer, then dropped her spears, which flew towards him at an incredible pace. Enner weaved his Savvour into himself and his Umbral, then plunged beneath the waves. The spears splashed into the water, noticeably slower now. He wished he had Kinatar, then he could shatter the spears and return to the surface. But he would be forced to wait and be clever.

The spears slowing suggested shoddy craftsmanship, or simply low power level. Either way, it was good for him. There would be perimeters on them. The spears weren't high enough quality to be true seekers. Either they would be limited by time, distance from the person who thew them, or distance traveled. The best way to increase all of those was to plunge down into the water further. Spears followed, and Enner moved back and forth to make sure the spears were still following him and not just sinking.

Finally, the spears stopped reacting. That was lucky since he almost didn't have enough Savvour to make it back to the surface. He brought the Umbral up, bursting free of the water after a while. Then he felt himself be yanked off the Umbral's back. It was the Draa woman. He cursed.

"Can't get away that easy," she chuckled. He didn't have enough Savvour to influence her after using it to not drown. She towed him to the ship, were she tossed him onto the deck.

"Well, well, well, thought you could scam me out of my money. You're lucky I'm letting you live." It was the captain. He was an half Oceaneirid, half Draa. "Everything you brought on this ship, everything in your pockets, everything but the clothes on your back, is mine now, for that little stunt." He gestured to the Draa that had captured me. "Search him, you get first pick for catching the little rat." And they did. Not without a couple kicks and bruises too. Eventually, they were done searching and beating him, or maybe they just reached the dock, so they threw him down. It took a while, less time for a a half Kinatalin like him since he was naturally tougher than most races, but still a while nonetheless, for him to wake up. Once he did though, the healing process was sped up, with the natural Savvour from the crowded streets healing him.

“Sure.” Nayka scooped up the officer in her arms and found her lighter than expected, which was good because Nayka didn’t carry people a lot. She managed to get the woman to the alleyway before she gave out and sat back, panting.

Lyras raised an extremely skeptical eyebrow.

"Which moon? And how would you even get there in the first place?" Lyras knew that the moons had surfaces; he'd it through telescopes at the Academy back home. They clearly had solid surfaces with distinct features. Calia, Celestia, and Volia were worlds with their own terrain and mysteries. But they were also incredibly distant, if the Stellari astronomer's calculations were correct.

And even then, how would you reach them? Any method not involving magic was doomed to fail utterly, and Lyras knew of no spell or ability in any of the various Magics of Tetrapela that would allow anyone to do anything like going to the moons.

"Like this," replied the stranger, jumping onto the wall of the alley. He stood there, parallel to the ground, as though it was normal to walk on walls. He began to talk, but - seemingly unbeknownst to him - no sound came out.

Hyron watched the stranger, then narrowed their eyes as the stranger continued to walk away, farther in towards the island.

"Juuno," They said, not taking their eyes off the stranger, "Keep an eye on our friend here. Send a Feenix if he does anything. I'll go and warn the Elders. This stranger may become an issue."

Hyron leaped off the tree, leaving Juuno to watch the stranger, then began the swinging vine technique again, swinging towards the Elders' Domain.

Juuno watched the stranger intently. This was an important job, and he would not let it end badly. Silently, he leaped softly from tree to tree, following the stranger as he walked.

The stranger did not appear to notice.

The stranger continued to trudge through the woods, hoping that he would find someone.

"That was close," he replied.

Lyras's eyes widened.

Gravity.

There were records of ancient Starmages who had learned spells that could control the very fabric of the universe, and thus, gravity. The possibility had always fascinated Lyras.

"How...how are you doing that?" he asked, not caring if he interrupted the man. He didn't seem to be making any sound anyway.

The man pulled something out of his robe. Some sort of stone, black in color, on a silver chain. He appeared to be explaining something, still unaware that no sound was coming out of his mouth.

Juuno hopped silently to the next tree, then slipped. He fell down the tree a short distance before grabbing a branch and holding on for dear life. The branches he'd already fallen through fell to the ground, in front of the stranger.

Meanwhile, Hyron continued to swing through the trees, making their way to the Domain. As they neared the Domain, they thought on the strange magic of the stranger.

Manipulating gravity... with no seen side effects... it was blasphemous. Hyron could not in good conscience allow such a man to get into Central Juun.

The Elders would help. Hyron swung onto the deck of the First Level of the Elders Domain. Then immediately began running up to the High Level, where the Elders resided. Passing many bewildered Hwindi, who shouted at them, but Hyron ignored, they kept running. Eventually, they burst onto the High Level, shoving past the guards.

The Elders were in session. Hyron immediately took a knee. "My most sincere apologies, Highest Hwindi," They said, head bowed, "But I come with urgent news. It cannot wait."

The Elders looked at one another. Then, one of them spoke. "Rise, child. Speak."

Hyron did not raise their head, nor stand. "I come with grave tidings. A stranger has passed our borders, one of unkown origin. In confronting the stranger regarding the laws and treaties in place for our land, he revealed to me forbidden magic. Manipulation of gravity. He explained that he was part of a group, a one Order of the Fallen Star, and their single goal is to reach the moons, most respect to Those Ones Up High, which is impossible."

Hyron looked up. "I pray you take action against this stranger who threatens, or appears to threaten, our livelihoods with this nonsense. But his display of magic worries me."

The Elders looked at one another, then gestured for Hyron to rise and leave the room. They did so, recieving a glare from the guards at the door. They glared right back, but kept back a harsh retort.

Juuno, on the one hand, hung, sweating, holding on for dear life as he struggled to find a way to right himself quietly.

"How did you do that? Falling on the wall, I mean."

The man held up his stone on the chain. "This. It's a piece of a fallen star- a meteorite. It's what gives me the power." He looked directly at Lyras. "We have extras. If you're interested."

"A meteorite..."

Stellari scientists and Starmages were still trying to understand them. They had safely concluded that meteors and stars were very different objects, but not much more than that. Lyras had been unaware that the meteorites held magical properties, but things often didn't make sense when it came to magic. If the sun, moons, and stars could fuel the mystical energy surrounding the world, why not other celestial objects? Even ones that had fallen?

"...You could say that I'm interested," Lyras said. "But I'll need assurance that this isn't some kind of scam, of course."

It's interesting! The same thing that Xino's organization is promoting, and the thing that the Stellari are fascinated with, is a cultural taboo amongst your character's culture! It just highlights the worldbuilding, even though it's not fully developed.

ah fair. the Hwindi take culture and beliefs very very seriously. Manipulation of known physical laws is one of their highest taboos. this is turning into one of my favorite RPs very fast. i also did it because the person your character is talking to, and the stranger my character is telling the Elders about, I assumed they were from the same organization.

Lyras reached out to it with his powers. Indeed, he felt a pulsing coming from the shard of meteorite. It didn't coincide with any of the Three Sources; Sun, Moons, or Stars. Rather, it resonated with it's own signature, though it felt more similar to the Moon Source than the other two.

"It does contain power," Lyras said. "From a source I'm unfamiliar with. It has a rhythm all it's own. That's fascinating..." He walked over. "How much are you asking for it?"
