Miyako was walking through the woods, glancing at every shadow to make sure it wasn't the Hwindi waiting to attack. She had come to these forests as only a last resort, but if her bounty could hide in these woods from those haughty tree huggers she could too. If he was already captured by the Hwindi then she would cross that bridge when she came to it.

She was on the trail of someone who had been through these woods recently. He had seemed to walk through without a care in the world, trampling through the underbrush and making it painfully obvious to follow. It was unlikely that this was her target, but a lead was a lead.

She brushed past leaves, darting from shadow to shadow, advancing with her sword by her side. She was inspecting a set of footprints when she heard rustling in the leaves above. Miyako turned and saw a man sailing through the air, bounding through the trees as if untethered to this world. She spared one more glance at the trail before rushing after the man. Something big was happening and she wasn't going to miss it.

Miyako had to abandon all subtlety as she sprinted through the forest after the floating man. Another man, a Hwindi by the looks of it, leaped through the forest in the direction of the man moments later. He swung through the trees in pursuit. Luckily though, he seemed much too preoccupied to notice her running on the ground.

Her breath was drawing ragged when she halted suddenly, seeing the man hanging in midair. She pulled herself together and creeped forward. She surveyed her surroundings, the Hwindi seemed to be in the trees and a large net was hanging over the canopy. She drew her sword while moving forward, preparing for a fight; there seemed to a confrontation brewing and Miyako seemed to be in the middle of it.

So, is the plan for me to come in here at some point? If so, I may need a bit of context.

Okay then!

The noise of soft footsteps sounded. Appearing suddenly out of the darkness near the fire, a haunting figure emerged. Tall, with a grey robe with a hood that obscured the man's eyes and skin whiter than paper, he loomed in the darkness. "What business do you have here?" the figure questioned in a deep, gravelly voice.

Vance didn't jump. He'd heard the man coming. "Stew. You hungry?"

There was an awkward pause. "I am lord of these lands. Fear me!" In an attempt to take an ominous step forward, he tripped on a stick and fell next to fire with a thump. The man cursed, his odd tone gone and replaced by the normal-sounding voice of a young adult. "Sure, I'll take some."

Vance was still keeping watch - albeit now with a tasty bowl of Bunny stew. “Heya.”

“I’ll deter any of these ‘guardian’ people while you get mining.”

Anikel gave her an incredulous look. "You? Deter that thing?"

"Hello?" called the floating figure. "Is anyone there?"

The shadow stirred. "Why are you in my alley?" a woman asks curiously.

Nayka sat back to see how Whist would handle this.

"Who the tides are you?"

"A bowl? Why would I have a bowl?" He sat down, pulling off his hood. Turning to her, he continued. "How have you been eating without bowls?" As he turned, something became instantly noticable. His eyes were a solid pitch black.

Annamus walks deeper into the tiger's territory, his senses telling him to run and never return. Warily Annamus walks on, into the den of the beast, armor disconnecting from his skeleton, threatening to come loose. It was a bad idea to start the process before, but if I get it, I'll only have to wait a day instead of three. That is if I survive.

"Well, if you happen to pass through Orteos, that's where we're headquartered. You can ask if you can have a piece of skystone there."

Lyras nodded his thanks again and left.

He turned out of the alley and back onto one of the city's busy streets. Travelers, merchants, and children clogged the road, but not to the point that Lyras couldn't find his way through. He retained his anti-pickpocket spell, realizing that he still looked like a wealthy target compared to many of these people, who wore simple shirts, trousers, or tunics.

Maybe I should find a new outfit...he thought briefly. Despite the fact that the Stellasti robes and cloak were incredibly durable and comfortable, if they marked his as a target for thieves....

He ended that thought. He could defend himself, couldn't he?

Lyras looked around. Despite the fact that it was almost midday, he considered finding an inn and getting a few hours of sleep, before heading out at nightfall. Night was often considered a dangerous time to travel amongst the other races, but some Stellasti, Lyras included, actually preferred it.

Lyras turned onto another street and continued looking.

Your characters are still in the same city as mine. If you want to bring him into whatever you're doing, that's fine. My character is planning to travel north next, though, and I don't know if that fits with whatever you have in mind.

we're kind of in a random alley. Maybe if you turned down one of those instead of a street we could suck you up into what's going on with us.

Kealie tilted her head. “Your eyes are cool. And, um, I think Vance just wants to make sure you’re not going to kill us all or steal from us. I’m Kealie. This is Eej.” The mass of vines next to her drew itself straighter.

"Nice to meet you both. Don't worry, I doubt I could kill anyone if I wanted to." He reached out to shake Kealie's hand. "Name's Antin."

"I spent most of my childhood in Orteo. Whoops, sorry."

Because of Antin's abilities, he will have some sort of dampening effect on your magic while shaking your hand, which I assume would affect your vines. You can decide what it is.
