Emma tiltled her head again at Calano. "I am not dead as you can very well see."

Walking yet closer, Emma reached for Calano's cheek in a familiar way. The same way she used to always when she knew something was troubling him.

Calano reached out, grabbing her wrist.

Despite his hatred for this being, he was gentle.

“Do not use her mannerisms,” He said, his voice a low growl, “I do not and will not believe you: you are a force of evil and death. You are Kaos. And Emma is dead. Now you are left to deal with me, a newly Ascended god, who has yet to exact revenge for his wife.”

Oh yeah Rue would probably know that.

Uh...Nameless where'd you end up? :P

Emma growled slightly at him and bared her teeth, "don't you know me, Calano?"

Emma brushed up against the connection between the two of them that she had been purposefully obscuring until then. "Can't you feel that it is me?"

Calano did feel something. But it was small, and he would not allow himself to hope: His Intent was to suade all to the Light.

But… wasn’t hope part of the Light?

Calano wanted so desperately to believe that the being in front of him was his wife, but… the still present humanity in him couldn’t accept that.

”I want to,” He whispered, “I wish it was you. I wish with every fiber of my being that it was you.”

Calano looked down at her.

”But I don’t know. I have no way of knowing if you’re her, or just another trick.” He said.

The (now dark) Mysterious Forest

Bookwyrm watched as Emma vanished to somewhere.

...So much for planning our next moves.

He sighed.

A spike of light drove through his mind.

He grimaced in pain, raising his hands to his temples. The darkness in him hated the light; it killed him. And yet there was a part of him that felt joy at the light. The memory. The time that once was.

Time...

The pain faded.

Bookwyrm turned and looked at Lark.

"Any idea what we should do?"

Wherever we are now

Ati stared at the place where Calano had disappeared just moments ago. Floating and glowing like some storming Shard. "So what is our next destination?"

Earth

Insa sat staring at the ground.

I don't have anything left. Both families are destroyed and I have no home to go back to.

I mean technically you do.

The Clinic is gone. I have nothing.

Your first home still stands.

I'm never going back there. It'd be too painful.

Then I guess you're right.

Insa carefully started to form sparks. Slowly shaping them into a dagger.

She carefully solidified the sparks and watched as the sparks slowly turned to metal.

Insa pressed the flat side of the blade against her stomach.

Thoughts flew through her mind. They spun too fast for her to fully process any of them.

Oh my goodness. Are you gonna do it or not?

I don't know.

I'll help you decide. Sparks surrounded Insa's arm and forced her to turn the blade so it was in the right position. Continue or not?

No! no no no. I can't.

The sparks around her arm fizzled out and the dagger burst into hundreds of tiny sparks the disappeared too.

That's what I thought.

Rue turned towards Insa, alarmed. "Insa? Are-are you okay?" Don't ask if she's okay, idiot. She mentally chastised herself. Of course she's not okay.

"I'm here."

The (now dark) Mysterious Forest

Lark hesitated. "Calano has fully ascended? That is unfortunate." He wrote some more on his clipboard. "What should we do? Same as before, I suppose. What else can we do?" He glanced around. "Where's TAAron? I have a job for him."

TAAron finally heard.

He was there in a flash, though he didn't quite know how it happened. "H-Hello."

"She really doesn't care." Insa shook her head. "Why pick someone to... to do whatever I've been doing for her if you aren't gonna care what happens to them?"

"They're going to try and stop us, if we don't do something." Lark shrugged. "Besides, they'll be happy for it, once they're turned."

"Right. Right." He looked down at his hands. "I don't have a proper weapon. I had coins, but I lost them all... fighting."

"Not a problem." Lark extended a hand, and a pair of daggers formed from shadow. "These should suffice. They'll corrupt anything they touch to Kaos, and will resist most magic short of the Creator's."

"I don't see why there would be." He reached again and took one, and a soft white light pulsed beneath his skin with a desperate rhythm. TAAron gritted his teeth.

The cause of the effect is remaining magic from his own world that is in direct conflict with Kaos. If he holds the daggers, it'll go away after a bit.

"Hm. Well, let me give you something else to help on your mission." a tendril of dark energy shot from Lark into TAAron, sending a shock through TAAron's soul. The tendril withdrew a moment later. "There. I've modified your connection to Kaos; it should fuel your allomantic abilities.

"Thanks." TAAron looked down at his arm. The light had retreated. "I'll take the other dagger too."

Lark nodded, handing it to him along with a glass vial filled with what appeared to be liquid Kaos. "If you get cornered, break this. It will bring reinforcements."

"The bulk of the enemy is gathered on earth. Go there, wait for an opportunity, and strike. They most likely won't want to hurt you, so you'll have an advantage."
