I hate how y’all know exactly when I’m at college and not able to respond and when I’m at a time a place to respond.

Ji looked at the newcomer, raising a skeptical eyebrow. “If we wanted to turn you over to the Pacis, we would’ve done so already,” he said to him, sighing.

Kazh spoke from where he lay, eyes still shut. "If we wanted to turn you over to the Pacis, and had done so already, we would be fighting, dead, or captured. Also, if you're going to have a conversation, could you have it in a room where people aren't half asleep? I wasn't ready to be up yet."

“Sorry,” The teen whispered to the man lying on the couch.

He shook Elya’s hand with a smile on his face. “Pleasure to meet you.”

“It sound like you guys don’t like the Pacis very much.” He said turning to the others. “Are you one of the resistance cells?” He asked with a hint of hope and excitement in his voice.

Sorry @Mystic Syn I didn’t know you were busy right now.

Ji glanced at Elya. “Would we be defined as a resistance cell?” He paused, then shrugged. “Well, to the Pacis, yes. I’m not sure if we actually call ourselves that.”

"More like the Pacis don't like us very much." Elya shrugged. "As to whether or not we're an official cell... I'm not sure. But we're a resistance, a bit, for sure."

Kazh sat up. There wasn't really much point in continuing to try to sleep - too much was happening. The first things he saw were the carts. "Oooo! Nice toys! Whose are they, and can I have some?"

Lyanör seems like she'd sleep in lol. Wake her up if you need her.

"Of course." Elya smiled, moving to the kitchen. "You seem tired: feel free to claim a bed if you need to sleep."

“Thank you so much” Viator said to Elya. “I have my own bed though.” His eyes started to burn purple. A large yet unstable portal opened in the air, and his sleeping bag and backpack fell to the ground in front of him. “It wouldn’t be right of me to steal one of your beds.”

The building above appeared small compared to the others around it. More of the size of a house one might find on the countryside.

Grace stepped inside, looking for its occupants.

"If you insist." Elya started rummaging through the pantry, tossing the boy a small bar of dried fruits and nuts in the meantime. "There are two that nobody's taken yet, though, so if the floor isn't comfortable enough then go ahead."

A singular person resided, not appearing to have noticed Grace as she continued her cooking, humming quietly to herself.

“Last I recall,” Ji said, “sleeping bags are not exactly ‘beds.’ More of glorified blankets.”

. . .

The Angel of Death sat on top of the building adjacent to the one the Mystic group had walked into, her legs swinging off the edge. Something deep within her knew that whatever she was doing was not worth it and that it would just be better if she were to fall, let herself be taken away. But alas, she had work to do. She couldn’t just give out now. Who knows what’ll happen if she ducked out?

She leaned back, her brow twitching together as a scent wafted in her nose; usually a scent she would just tune out, but it was strong this time around. The sickly sweetness made her nose wrinkle unconsciously.

“I see you’re still watching them, hmm?”

The Angel turned back to the man causing the Deathscent. “Decided to bring you in, hmm?”

The man gave a half-hearted chuckle, then reached up to tie his long dark hair back. “Not exactly,” Khaos said, finishing up, then resting a hand on the hilt of his blade. “Here to follow what you say.”

“Oh?” The Angel raised her eyebrow. “You think they took it?”

“I know that at least he took it. Whether or not the whole group will follow is another topic, Angel.”

“Mmm,” she muttered, pulling her knees in so she could rest her chin on them. “So, we waiting on them?”

“Depends.”

The Angel glanced back at Khaos, seeing a lopsided twisted grin. “Give them some time to rest,” she found herself saying, turning back to the apartment.

Well, lights. She couldn’t just say that without him thinking about the implications.

“Make them think they’re safe,” she added. “Gives us the element of surprise.”

Another chuckle sounded from Khaos.

“My pleasure, dear Angel of Death.”

“They are most definitely beds” Viator said giving Ji a flat look. “At least that’s what I consider them to be, it’s much easier to think that I have a bed I can place anywhere rather than having slept in a glorified pile of blankets for the past year.” He crouched down and started to roll up his sleeping bag.

“Thanks again for letting me stay here.” He said looking at Elya. “I was with Neduisian resistance cell for about two years, until they kicked me out. Since then I’ve been sleeping in the woods. I only came into town to get a new ‘glorified pile of blankets’”.

Lyanör began to stir, rubbing bleary eyes awake. "Whas...for breakfast...?"

"Apparently served is for breakfast. Not sure what served is tho." Kazh sat at the table, claimed a bowl, and spat in it.

"...never had 'served' for breakfast, but it sounds better than nothing." Lyanör stretched her arms above her head, letting out a yawn. She plopped down into a chair grabbing a bowl. "May I have some?"
