Zvso – A Roleplay

[Frustration]

John sat down on the coutch, leaning back as he tried to simultaiously watch the newcomer and sleep. He wasn't very sucessful, and soon he found himself dreaming.

Viator sat, and sat some more. He was very bored. The others had left him, and John had fallen asleep.

He sat there with nothing but his thoughts. “Do they suspect anything?” “I shouldn’t have told them that the resistance kicked them out!” “What if they see a wanted poster and turn me in? That won’t happen Viator, I’ll just teleport away if that happens.” “Calm down!” He stopped and just sat there for a bit trying to calm down. 
He eventually did, and started playing go fish against himself.

"This seems like the sort of thing Lyanor would like." Elya picked out a jacket and glanced over it. "A lot of pockets."

“Lights, if I know,” Ji muttered, looking over the jacket. “You sure she’s the pocket type of Mystic?”

Elya gave him a confused glance. "Have you ever met anyone who doesn't like pockets?"

“No,” he admitted, “but you never know.”

"Also... Lyanor isn't a Mystic." Elya left it at that, dropping the jacket into her basket and continuing to sift through the clothing. "So do you ever wear anything other than that old sweater?"

"Do I need to?" Ji looked down on his sweater. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

"I wasn't trying to accuse. Just wondering." Elya tugged at her jacket sleeve. "I tried to get into a wider variety when... um. Once I was on my own. Couldn't quite make myself do it, though."

“Ah.” He turned to the rack of clothing, fingering through them.

"You, um--" Elya suddenly blurted out.

She immediately stopped.

Lights. Lightssssss.

"Back when, ah... the entire building fell on us."

His throat seized.

Falling.

Falling.

Darkness.

Cold.

The pain.

Oh, the pain.

His heart pounded.

Phantom pains flaring.

Ji glanced at his hands.

His grip on the jacket on the rack had tightened.

His knuckles had turned white.

Ji cleared his throat, quietly exhaling.

“Ah yes. Good times,” he said with a slightly forced smile. “What about it?”

"I... wasn't exactly in a healthy state." She seemed to have gone ignorant of Ji's reaction--an anomaly, given her general level of perception. "I'm sure you noticed."

“I did,” he said, feeling the pounding go back to a somewhat normal state, despite his grip being tighter than ever. Ji pointedly ignored it and glanced at her. “It’s nothing to worry about, if that’s what you’r going to ask about.”

[Channelknight Fadran]

"I came to save you. But... you ended up saving me."

[Mystic Syn she/her]

“Yeah, well–” Ji shrugged, an actual smile touching his lips “–that’s what friends are for, yeah?”

People do some crazy things when they love someone, the man’s words nagged in the back of his mind.

"And... we are... friends." She looked up and finally met his eyes.

Since when had they been so... striking?

"Right?"

“I would say so.” Ji tilted his head slightly, continuing to smile. “I don’t save just anyone, Elya.”

Lights, did I just say that?

His face grew warm as he cleared his throat, turning back to the clothing rack.

Elya did the same, eyes now back on the floor.

"Thank you." She whispered.
