You make a pretty compelling argument vikorr and I'd probably be inclined to agree with you if not for wyndle directly contradicting the idea after lift used him to climb the wall. He doesn't seem to think KR should have the ability to touch him implying the nahel bond does not pull them further into the cognitive realm

Just enclose the text in [ spoiler] and [ /spoiler] but without the spaces. I added those so it wouldn't actually make a box Edit: chaos beat me to it

It seems Lifts abilities are unique. Wyndle is even surprised by it so I doubt kaladin is moving into the cognitive. It's more likely Syl is getting a firmer base in the physical.

I would expect her affinity to going in person has to do with the transportation side of being an elsecaller. Hoid uses shadesmar to world hop so I would guess transportation on roshar uses a similar method

Yeah, the tint looked fine in Photoshop but when I shrunk them to icon size, the tint ended up being just slightly darker than I intended. I'll probably go back and adjust that sometime. -
When will Shallan bust out her big secret?
Awesomeness Summoned replied to ragingdomer's topic in Stormlight Archive
Hey now, I'm not just some low rent trollop. It's gonna take a lot more than some friar's razor and a few assumptions to scrape anywhere near me. I expect some wild accusations and a few hair brained schemes as well. -

Was that total coincidence that you chose Seran after I used the Seran river in my description? Its rather serendipitous perhaps?- 1232 replies

Restricting Gender Roles
Awesomeness Summoned replied to RadiantNights's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree 100%. I've been thoroughly impressed with the fact that there are two threads right now with "gender roles" and "genocide" in the titles and they have remained extraordinarily civil. Tip of the hat to the 17th shard for a positive environment in which to exchange ideas. -
Question about Shardplate and Surgebinding
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Pinpoint's topic in Stormlight Archive
To this point, though, we have also not seen any surgebinders wear shardplate at all in modern times. We don't know why the plate of KR in Dalinar's vision glows. Does it glow because a surgeninder is wearing it instead of a regular person? Does It glows because the nahel bond makes it glow or the spren itself makes it glow? Is shardplate created after the last ideal is spoken and the plate glows because it is attuned to a specific person? Would plate glow on Kaladin or would it interfere with abilities like it does for Szeth? There is quite a bit more lore we will need to discover about shards before we'd have a definite answer to that but its fun to speculate -

I'd like a place on the crew You can call me Wes. I'm the best pickpocket this side of the Seran river. My fingers are so talented you'll be happy they were in your pockets... that is, if you knew they were there in the first place.- 1232 replies

Wallpaper of Final cover up on Tor
Awesomeness Summoned replied to The Rooster's topic in Stormlight Archive
The only thing i can think that would make this a reasonable depiction is if Szeth just got finished lashing them all so they crashed into each other and were crushed under the weight. Then Szeth slammed down on top and finished off any of the survivors. -
When will Shallan bust out her big secret?
Awesomeness Summoned replied to ragingdomer's topic in Stormlight Archive
I'm stoked to see Shallan trained with the sword and fighting. It might not really happen in WoR but when it does I think the combination of soulcasting, illusions, and a shard blade will make her quite a force to be reckoned with. Especially since I foresee her being an exceptionally skilled soul caster and illusionist due to her photographic memory and her need to understand how things work. -

The KR Orders Table and Bonding Spren
Awesomeness Summoned replied to marianmi's topic in Stormlight Archive
Something I was thinking of when when looking at those linking lines and recalling the suggested animosity between Honorspren and Cryptics, is that perhaps they partly represent how well the various orders work with each other. Each is connected with 2-3 other orders sharing one of their surges and then 1 connection to an order on the opposite side of the chart that shares none of their surges. In chapter 9 Syl's comment about Cryptics seems to backup Jasnah's claim that they don't get along very well and I can't imagine KR would perform at top notch if their spren don't get along with each other. That would mean (1-6), (2-7), (3,8), (4,9), and (5,10) shouldn't be paired up while the other line links indicate orders that perform really well together. Orders without links get along with each other fine but also don't particularly compliment each other. That would also imply 1,4,6, and 9 are the most versatile when working with others since they have 3 "beneficial" linking lines. Edit: Correction, 1,4,6, and 9 each have two links with related surges and two links with non related surges so that messes with my theory a bit. Maybe the vertical links (1-4) and (9-6) indicate no surge relation but that their spren still get along well and complement each other in battle. Would love to see Kaladin and Lift working together and how Wyndle and Syl relate. -
World hopping , sDNA and babies...
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Quiver's topic in General Brandon Discussion
"Id est" means "that is" and is the correct origin of i.e.. My high school and college Latin teachers stated as much and my quick perusal of various websites seems to agree. It appears your teacher was incorrect. -
Think that was supposed to say keep the thread clean. People check this thread for new content. Posting in here makes people think new material might have been posted and are sad to see it's just a comment on material they've already read. At least I think that's the gist of what crys was sayingEdit: guess I wasn't at the end of the thread to see others had already replied

Yeah, I'd forgotten their blood was different so not likely the first one

Is it just me or could those last two death rattles Aleksial posted be humans after the last desolation regretting having to kill parshendi (dead brother) or debating weather to finish the genenocide (the baby)? Possibly my perspective being skewed by the thread topic
