  1. We don't know for sure. They could be some strange manifestation of how we think of waves? And the plants seem to be a kind of Cognitive-only lifeform.
  2. Can we have an Other button? I would just choose whoever was fighting Odium, which isn't necessarily going to be limited to just the humans.
  3. You just need to post six times to make it accurate. Then never post again, obviously.
  4. Well I don't consider patronizing to be nice. He was treating T like a plaything to be toyed with, imo. Like, "You're so simple and easy, I don't even need to make threats. You're going to do what I say anyway." Master manipulator, not master foreseer Timbre adds an unexpected element to the whole thing. If it weren't for Timbre, Venli would certainly have been overwhelmed, imo.
  5. Because he's trying to persuade the humans, while he already has control of the Singers. He offhandedly tossed Yelig-nar to Amaram, and was...not nice to Taravangian. He's a master manipulator. He knows when to use the stick and when to use the lure. I personally think that the Listeners will return, and a good number of Singers will become Listeners, and ally with the humans, under Venli's leadership. And they'll teach the Singers not to be open to the Fused, leaving them with no bodies to inhabit (eventually), and possibly find a way to get rid of them for good.
  6. The end of Stormlight is going to only be a few decades in the future of the current timeline. Mistborn Era 4 is going to be centuries in the future, most likely, since Scadrial has only just reached the industrial era in Era 2, and Era 2 happens around the middle of Stormlight. We'll then have Era 3, which is 1980's tech, then finally, Era 4 which is the FTL era. I can't imagine less than 100 years between 1980's tech and FTL, so we've got a long way to go. But Era 4 is meant to be the grand climax of the Cosmere. There might be other stories and novellas, but that's going to be the end of the main sequence.
  7. I only happened to k now it because of another theory It's definitely not an easy one to find.
  8. Sorry, any relationship seems coincidental at best.
  9. I think it was just raw investiture. I think the Dawnshards are something specific and unique that were lost somehow, and can't be found or accessed any more.
  10. I don't think so. Otherwise they'd be able to burn the iron in their own blood, since the metal just has to be inside of you, not necessarily in your stomach. Also, the iron would be part of a molecule at that point, not pure iron. Since alloying iron is enough to prevent you from being able to burn it, having it in a molecule would be even harder.
  11. Yep, sounds like it! Wit is talking to one at the end of WoR, too. Have you read Edgedancer?
  12. Only in silence the word, only in dark the light, only in dying life: bright the hawk's flight on the empty sky.
  13. Have you read Secret History? Spoilers I don't think the Red Rip is Ambition or her mortal wound or anything like that. If you look at the constellation chart in AU, you can see the red stars that form that constellation. It can be seen from Scadrial and Roshar.
  14. He's not really gold. That's just how he tries to present himself, imo.
  15. I think it'll see itself as a single object, so the difficulty would be, like, proportional to the percentages. As for polyester, it's largely made out of petroleum, yes? And petroleum is made from organic compounds. That is, thousands of dead little animals and plants and mosses and the like, under the right conditions, metamorphosize into petroleum. So technically, synthetic or not, it was still alive at some point.
  16. I don't think it's that the spike is made of trellium that prevents that ability. I think because she only has one spike, it's not enough for Sazed to take control of her. And he can still talk to her, even with one spike, she just doesn't listen.
  17. To add to what Cal said And I really need to rewrite my Diagram post....
  18. Because being obvious would also open her up to a strike from Odium. Clearly, she's cautious and subtle. I think she has a number of plots going that are designed to strike Odium where it hurts at the best possible time, while leaving her with the bulk of her power intact. Just having a god metal show up on Scadrial, I don't think would need to be a Shard trying to move in. However, Harmony's depiction to Wax and his comments about greater threats makes it clear that there's more than just the metal showing up. Which is why I don't think it's Cultivation... Yes, definitely someone is trying to move in on Harmony's turf. I just don't think it's Cultivation.
  19. But that would be a chunk of her power that she would then not be able to use in her fight against Odium. And from what Sazed said, it seems to me it's more than just the trellium, but actual attempts to move in on his turf, which would really divide her attention in a bad way.
  20. The spren existed before Cultivation settled on Roshar. They were made by Adonalsium, and already had a lot of Cultivation-flavored-investtiure in them.
  21. Yep. Because fleeing would involve somehow ripping her investiture away from Roshar. We don't know if this is even possible, or how long it would take, and what side effects it would have. Plus, I think she and Tanavast settled on Roshar in the first place was because a lot of her investiture was already there in the form of the spren, so they settled there for her to be able to access more of it. Additionally, given that her nickname is "Slammer," I don't see her as someone who would run from a fight. And also, running from Roshar, to challenge a doubleShard Vessel, with Odium on her heels, would mean fighting on two fronts, which wouldn't be very smart. (I'm assuming here that withdrawing her power from the Roshar system would free Odium, since he is bound by her and Honor's power.)
  22. Whether she flips sides or not, I think it would take quite a bit of effort for her to move her focus from Roshar to Scadrial, and she'd still have her hands full with Odium, because Odium wants to Splinter all the Shards. I mean, I can't think of a good motivation for her doing so, is what I'm saying.
  23. Mistborn Era 2 takes place after Stormlight 5, either during the gap or just after the gap between 5 and 6.
  24. My problem with this is that I think Cultivation has her hands full with Roshar and Odium.
