What Hoid Is Really Doing With Adonalsium
RShara replied to Worldhopper From Yolen's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Have you read the Traveler exerpt? It really makes me think Hoid is trying to bring someone back from the Beyond. -
Yeah he might decide to go with a different name, but the general idea should be close. The basis is this WoB that Chaos got. Given how well the two of them know each other, I think that we can take it as solid. Edit: Ooh I like Cunning.

Sazed could probably manifest the equivalnet to atium if he wanted, but a natural Ruinous perpendicularity would not occur, because Ruin is part of Harmony now. They're intermingled, as @HSuperLee described.

In case this was still uncertain:

Note: Survival is tangential to the intent of the Shard that wants to survive. Also, I'm pretty sure Ingenuity is all but confirmed as a Shard.

They also have a hard time passing for fully human. The cook had tattoos all over her face to disguise the lines where the hordelings joined up.

The Sibling is Cusicesh? (and also unmade?)
RShara replied to Themasterhunter's question in Cosmere Q&A
Probably not. Someone asked if they were connected, and it's inferred whether the connection is Cusicesh being or once-being the Sibling, and the answer was no. -
Aesudan should count. "I'm going to swallow this gemstone that, if I don't choke on it, will either turn me into a freak of nature, or kill me anyway!" Amaram should be right behind her for that, actually.

I think if he doesn't perceive it as damage, he'd be able to eat it.

Isn't his steel bubble his Resonance, not his savantism? That's what that first one says, imo.

Pattern, as in Shallan's spren? Here are some sketches of him from Words of Radiance:

I'm not sure what you mean? It's known that aluminum cancels out investiture. You can't soulcast it, and the magical cutting abilities of a Shardblade is nullified. You can't push or pull on it. Why or how is something that Brandon hasn't explained yet. It doesn't suck up investiture, it's just immune to it, so throwing a chunk of aluminum onto Plate wouldn't do anything. A device might be possible once we get into the future, and there's more contact between worlds though (trying to avoid spoilers here).

Maybe because the gold Ferring doesn't often bother to heal all the way down to the bone scarring level? They heal themselves functional, but don't often have enough saved u p to bother with making sure their bones are pristine.

I think they just interbred.

This. I mean, I guess if you kept damaging him for long enough, he'd eventually run out of gold, too, and that'd be easier than sticking him in mercury. But still, good luck with that...

If you mean a dead sprenblade, it would not be possible.

You also see Timbre around Eshonai in WoR several times.

Physical abilities of Scadrians and Selish on Roshar
RShara replied to Gasper's topic in Stormlight Archive
They'd have some minor advantages to speed and jump height, but the difference isn't *that* great, and their physiology would adapt pretty fast. Astronauts who spend just a few weeks in space already have noticeable muscle degradation. I believe it's something like half of the muscle is gone in six months even with exercise. Don't get me started on John Carter of Mars haha. https://www.quickanddirtytips.com/education/science/jumping-with-john-carter-of-mars?page=1 https://phys.org/news/2010-08-astronaut-muscles-space.html https://www.livestrong.com/article/435701-how-long-can-you-go-without-exercise-before-your-body-starts-to-lose-muscle/ -
How did Evi resist the Beyond? Part of Cultivation’s plan?
RShara replied to Fanghur Rahl's topic in Stormlight Archive
They can't touch it at all. Brandon has said that he wants it to be left up to the readers to decide if the Beyond is even a real place, an afterlife, or if it's just nothingness. Yeah I disagree too. There are small bits of earlier stories that he had to retcon, but not nearly the entire thing.- 21 replies

I guess it depends on whether Brandon is thinking organic as in the chemical definition, or organic as in, "was once alive." From things said in Warbreaker, it sounded more like the latter. The closer something is to having been alive, the easier to Awaken, anyway. And if it has any affect on what can have its color drained, I would think it'd be the same definition. The God King's black palace is marble, which was probably limestone, which was made from living creatures.

How did Evi resist the Beyond? Part of Cultivation’s plan?
RShara replied to Fanghur Rahl's topic in Stormlight Archive
Shards can access the Spiritual Realm. That's where they can see the future, travel, etc. They can't touch the Beyond.- 21 replies

How did Evi resist the Beyond? Part of Cultivation’s plan?
RShara replied to Fanghur Rahl's topic in Stormlight Archive
That was before Brandon really brought the Cosmere together. He's decided that the Spiritual Realm is not the Beyond, and the Beyond is something that the Shards can't touch or see into. See what Cal and Ext said. Have you read Secret History? https://wob.coppermind.net/adv_search/?tags=the+beyond- 21 replies

Brandon talks quite a bit about the Ship of Theseus issue. https://wob.coppermind.net/adv_search/?query=theseus

Marble is often made from limestone, which is also often made from organisms. So it should be considered organic, or at least, "used to be alive."
