  1. I don't believe he's said that all of the Heralds were present in the prologue, but that most of them had been mentioned or made an appearance somewhere in the book.
  2. In BoM, Allik says how long it's been since the Sovereign arrived, and how long that was since the Catacendre.
  3. Vin is actually stronger than Kelsier, because of her father being from a pure noble line. Elend, of course, is power powerful than she is, in terms of raw Allomancy, due to the lerasium.
  4. I don't recall the mists making her permanently stronger until the end of Hero of Ages. Do you have a specific scene or ability in mind? Also, have you finished Era 1?
  5. Frost is the one that describes him as "God's own divine hatred, separated from the virtues that gave it context." Frost is about as neutral as we're likely going to see in the cosmere, and I don't personally have any reason to doubt his word. We also have Brandon's word that Odium is killing other Shards because he wants to be the most powerful, without diluting his Shard with others.
  6. I would prefer to stick with, "agree to disagree" at this point.
  7. They attract the spren with the deep lies they tell themselves. Then, in order to strengthen the bond, they have to shed those layers of lies and see their true selves. This has been confirmed multiple times in the books and via WoB. I....think we'd best just agree to disagree. I don't read any of those scenes the way you do, and I don't really see any evidence to support your theory. Also, we're waaaay off topic again.
  8. A foundation of becoming a Lightweaver is lying to yourself.
  9. What? Also, citation needed.
  10. The latter item that you stated does not confirm or even imply the former. Tien was idealistic and artistic. Elhokar was weak and foolish. Cryptics are attracted to people who have deep lies. This is confirmed. That is the explanation for "live in worlds that seem a bit different". Because they're actually lying to themselves about reality. Neither of them demonstrated any ability for "a high level grasp" of...well, anything. I mean, you can head-canon what you want, but there is literally no evidence that Tien or Elhokar were anything like that. As for Shallan, the only reason she did that was because Jasnah forced her to. We have no idea if she'd followed any of those lines of thought herself, or previous to Jasnah.
  11. That doesn't describe a single one of the Lightweavers that we've seen. Shallan. Tien. Elhokar?
  12. Yes, that's basically what I was saying. Those methods are far more effective and safe than any of the others that have been proposed.
  13. I feel like at this point, any further discussion might cause bad feelings all around, to be honest. I've been reading it, and it seems to be getting more and more tense. Let's just move on.
  14. I love that I was downvoted for trying to keep the discussion on topic. That's hilarious
  15. It's not likely to stay nicely coated during a battle. And sweat and blood will probably be flying all over the place. Thus, ka-boom.
  16. And if you sweat just right, you can turn into a bomb!

I'm not sure how any of this has to do with the OP's original question at this point
  18. Awkwardness seems like it's more a combination of emotions rather than an emotion on it's own. It seems like embarrassment is a large chunk of awkwardness, so I think @WhiteEmporer's idea hits the nail.
  19. I like the theory I heard a few days ago, that the fetus needs a Breath a week (perhaps after a certain point) in order to survive till birth. And most people, not realizing that, don't supply that, and so it consumes its innate Breath and dies
  20. The Stormfather isn't Honor's Vessel, because Honor is Splintered and doesn't have a Vessel. The Stormfather merged with Tanavast's Cognitive Shadow, thus is partially a Sliver of Honor, along with being a Splinter and a Cognitive Shadow. I don't think that would work very well. A proper Shard has a Vessel already, aka a physical form, and I don't know that a separate bond with another physical being would be possible.
  21. It would take so much power to hack Connection that way that it's practically impossible. This WoB is about Forgery but the same idea should apply:
  22. So five feet long, straight sword with a black hilt and an aluminum sheathe.
  23. If you want a really long one, I've been halfheartedly working on an Intro doc.. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JDIKqQzJIhjRl7cvERZ0_qRH0r2vhqwGV2j2TGI67TY/edit
  24. So a couple of things here. The Deepness was Preservation's mists, just like we saw in HoA. And they were the same color as normal mist, not black, although they were depicted as black in legends and stained glass. The theory with Nightblood and Ruin's investiture is that the "Destroy" Command managed to reach out and involve a chunk of independent Ruinous investiture that was nearby, complicating the sword in the process. There were probably a bunch of other things happening that we don't know about yet. Using Nalthis' magic system to connect with Sel's magic system would be.......very hard and unlikely. Even Nightblood doesn't actually grant Allomancy, Feruchemy or Hemalurgy, even though it has some of Ruin's investiture in it. The amount of power needed to do that would be astronomical. Also, the Dor is local to Sel, and there's currently no way to use it off-planet.
