...which is what I was pointing out as a difference? Ruin could interfere with the information as it was transferred between the metalmind and the mind of a sapient being, because of the bit of Ruin in the being. Computers aren't sapient, so I'm not sure if it would work the same way?
-
I found an older thread that has a lot of good ideas in it. I still am fond of my theory that is referring to when Elhokar died in the middle of swearing the first Ideal.
-
They do, but I feel that it's different for inanimate objects vs sapient beings, y'know? But it might work the same. I'm not willing to say one way or another Yeah once things start to go wireless, that should make it a lot easier.
-
He was able to change that due to the bit of Ruin in everyone, changing it as it's transferring between the person and their metalmind. I don't know if that same process would work with electronics.
-
As I said, it's certainly possible. The question is mainly whether the Shard is willing to devote the time/attention necessary to do so. I don't think Ruin, while imprisoned, could have done so, though.
-
The info on a screen isn't static, though. It's constantly being refreshed. So he'd have to be constantly changing it. I mean, he could, but that seems like it's going to take a rather lot of attention and time. It's not like paper where you change something once and it's done.

Seeing and deciphering the information stored on the drives would definitely be the hard part. I'm sure that the Shard could manage to control electromagnetics to the point of changing the info that's stored on the drives, if they could see the information. Or just do a short pulse of power that fries or scrambles it. That should be easy if all they want is to destroy the data.

He was more able to affect those memories during the transfer between the metalmind and the person.

Oh sorry, misread you. Thanks!

Those are two separate things. A Fullborn being born naturally is obviously going to be really really hard to happen. And it's known that the Mistborn gene interferes with the Feruchemical gene, splitting it up. So yes, we have WoBs that it'd be incredibly unlikely without some sort of manipulation. But claiming there's not enough room in the spiritweb for both is something else completely. For example, I'm sure that a Feruchemist who ingested lerasium would have no problems with being a Fullborn. And in the very WoB you quoted, it says that it's possible, so saying "there's not enough room" would be false?
-
Can you find the source for that? I haven't seen that anywhere and it's not on Arcanum.
-
The bulk of their troops would be the koloss, not the skaa.
-
The Fused were bound to Braize because Taln was still holding the Oathpact. So there could not be Fused on Roshar unless Taln broke, which he didn't until the current time.
-
That's really good reasoning there. It fits with what we know of how healing works.
-
Clearly my reading comprehension skills are at zero right now. Sorry I don't know why I answered in such a stupid way.
-
Didn't most skaa not have a last name? One of the indicators that they were lower than the nobles that had surnames. So he was probably just Hammond.
-
Okay, you do you.

Since that WoB is from 2015, it would be referring to Scadrial during the Era 2 period. Scadrial was much more populated during Era 1, and hasn't recovered even a decent fraction of its population yet. I think you're getting the Recreance and Aharietiam confused. The Heralds walked away at Aharietiam, ~2000 years before the Recreance. So neither the Fused nor the Heralds would be in play during that time. He would likely have a group of compounders with F-aluminum creating unkeyed metalminds to give to his troops.

Mistborn Secret History Questions (for Brandon/ WoBs)
RShara replied to GoWibble's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Land and water aren't as dramatically different on Scadrial as in other places. Land was just a little...squishy, while water was solid.- 8 replies

Identity is more a tag on investiture rather than a "who you are" thing. That being said, it depends on a couple of things. Whether his brand of nearsightedness was part of his spiritweb, or something caused it to happen, like an injury or something. Some diseases are part of the spiritweb and some aren't. If it's part of the spiritweb, then it'd be harder to affect by healing. If it was caused by an outside issue, then it would be easily healable. The other thing it depends on in self-perception. Your perception of yourself can actually change the Spiritual a little bit. So if Renarin never saw himself as near sighted, the Stormlight could possibly change him so that he's no longer nearsighted, even if it was part of his spiritweb. It's harder to do, but it's possible.

I should hope there's no battles in peoples navels

why is aluminum resistant to investiture?

Yep, there are multiple times, when Vasher has it, where he throws it at people, they pick it up and draw it an inch or so, and end up killing a bunch of others, ending up with the sheath rammed through their own chest. I was just answering the specific question about Szeth--the only time he has sliced people with Nightblood, he's drawn it fully. I doubt Szeth knows about the throw-him-at-people-to-see-if-they-think-they're-evil trick.
