  1. Also that sig is really big. it should really be kept under 100px per the FAQ: Avatars should be 100x100. You are allowed to have images in your signature. If it's more than a tiny icon, keep it under 500 wide x 100 tall pixels. No one likes it when someone posts an image which expands the width of the forum and forces people to scroll horizontally, or unnecessarily stretches the page. Keep that in mind when you make a spiffy signature image, and try to not post anything too large when you post an image to a topic itself.
  2. I wasn't going to comment but.....
  3. It's also addictive. Just wanted to throw that in before reading all the amazing replies
  4. Unless they're all mares and geldings.
  5. I think you're reading too much into that, since the "12 years our time" is pretty definitive. But here: .
  6. He did grimace. But considering the reactions of the other Radiants who've touched dead Blades, it may or may not mean that he heard the screams. It might have just made him uncomfortable like Dalinar felt. Either way, he hasn't shown any ability to get a live sprenblade yet, so I don't think he's progressed far enough to have Glys transform.
  7. No, I'm sorry. Kaladin said the first Ideal and the second Ideal in the first book. Syl wasn't able to become a Blade until the second book, when he said the third Ideal. Each order gets their Blades at different points.
  8. Actually, a huge rock wouldn't be very practical for writing on a wall. A small piece of slate, chalk or sandstone (assuming crem here) would do just fine and would fit in the palm of a hand, or a pocket very nicely. He also used a dagger a few times. He didn't seem to have any problems with the Shardblade when he was bonding it, so I don't think he's had a Nahel bond very long. He might have said the first Ideal, but that doesn't guarantee that he has a blade yet. We don't know when the Truthwatchers get their Blades. The Windrunners didn't get them until they said the Third Ideal.
  9. You don't need to spoiler tag it though He doesn't have two blades yet, but he could potentially be the first. I think he'll likely get rid of his dead spren-blade asap instead though.
  10. Sazed is more powerful, and Odium is worried about him. But Sazed's nature of Ruin+Preservation makes it difficult for him to act.
  11. I don't see how it's unclear? He has been in WoK for 12 years our time, he has been on Roshar for much longer. WoK Prime was written in 2002, and he was in that version as "Vasher" instead of Zahel. It's 2014 now, so that's 12 years. He's been on Roshar for much longer than 12 years.
  12. Hmmm this makes me wonder if Splintering is different than Shattering. Shattering we know can be eventually mended, as Crystal noted above. But can Splintering be mended? I mean, Splinters have gained sentience as themselves. Looking at honorspren, it would be really hard to actually kill Syl for example. Kaladin could destroy her mind, but she wouldn't be completely dead, just mindless. You'd have to reassemble a significant number of Splinters in order to reassemble. You would have to fix all the Splinters before you can fix the Shattering in any event, so I would say it'd be pretty hectically difficult.
  13. Here you go: I think Weiry has the full transcript of this part. He went over a relative scale of "difficulty in trying to Push on" things.
  14. I think that humans are too complex to have separate spren. They have their Cognitive identity/shadow/DNA instead. The little flames that represent human minds that Shallan sees in Shadesmar, I would say are the visual representations of that. Humans aren't really a single idea, or thought, or sterotype, and don't see each other as that, so I don't think there could be an Ideal of a human anywhere.
  15. Yeah, Odium is probably the villain for Stormlight (or just really misunderstood), but I highly doubt he'll be the big villain for the cosmere.
  16. Oh I'm a believer too. I just wanted to make that point
  17. Correction here.
  18. As far as we can tell, no Honorblades are missing, Mr. T is lying. And the two Blades with the Progression Surge are for the female Heralds. So Nale would just about have to be using a fabrial.
  19. It's pretty awesome. One of the funniest things I've read in a while.
  20. From Words of Radiance, Taravangian's Interlude: So Taln's Honorblade, Szeth's Honorblade, and whichever Herald went back for his Blade (this was written in a personalization) makes ten. No unaccounted for Honorblades at the time that Gavilar was alive.
  21. I don't think that Dalinar will end up doing that. First, the meta-reason, which is that we're again bringing the cosmere too much to the forefront. Second, Dalinar isn't the type any longer to go on a rampage, killing people/Shards who've never done him any harm on the chance he might defeat Odium that way. Far too Destination before Journey, Death before Life. Tempus: Nothing so far that would completely invalidate my theory. Either of us could be correct, we don't know enough about how Splintering works to really nail it down. Splintering does take "a long time" though, so if Odium had to pick up a Shard to Splinter it, wouldn't the Intent start to affect him at least a little? We should ask Brandon if Odium has ever held any other Shards
  22. Honor and Hatred sound like Batman.
  23. I agree that Splintering can be done voluntarily, but I don't know if they can divest themselves of the entire Intent. Although it could be argued, I guess, that having just a little of the Intent left wouldn't be very useful. What I'm thinking is that while Shards have the ability to Splinter themselves, that they have to retain a majority of the power or lose the ability to control it enough to do additional splintering. Something like Shard > Total of all Splinters. Assuming ( ) that's correct, then Odium wouldn't be able to divest himself completely of that Shard's power while holding it, otherwise most of it would escape him and possibly regain enough sentience to bring itself back. Or I could be completely off base
  24. Don't the Shin have all the leftover Honorblades though?
