  1. The Dark Knight Trilogy?
  2. They were tumultuous times, when a goatherder could be called 'lord'. As a child, Tydan had had no illusions of status; his thoughts with goats and mountain lanes. Was that why Rashek- the Lord Ruler- imparted these gifts to Tydan? As reminder of the man he himself had once been? Tydan -Lord Queade- had no idea; nor would he ever. They may have shared the title of Lord, but the difference in status between himself and Rashek was plain to see. Compared to him, Tydan might as well still be a goatherder. And, he mused as he stroked his beard, mayhaps he still was. Men and women had flocked to Alendi's banner to seek profit; they would do the same for Rashek. Rashek said that these would be the beginnings of noble houses. And noble houses would need noble, loyal men to follow them.
  3. I have to be honest, I'm only interested in donkey genetics if grey mares playing a cello are involved.
  4. What do you mean Vorinism isn't the only religion on Roshar? And there are other kingdoms besides Alethekar, Kharbaranth and Shinovar? What? Seriously; Lift's interlude, and Azir, threw me for a complete loop the first time I read it.
  5. Well, I just took Lark's test, and apparently I'm an ISFJ? Dunno how reliable that is though; I hate personality tests. The answers are too... absolute for my liking.
  6. I have a terrible diet, frankly. I'm working on changing that, though, so I'll try and get quesadilla's eventually? (Though I have been reliably informed that Taco's are in fact the lifeblood of the universe.) Charge admission fee to see the amazing seven talking cats, and call a vet for the half. I went... but I'll admit, I wasn't a very good student. I also never partied or drank while I was there lol. Favorite characters... yikes, that is hard. The Witches are my favorite series, but in terms of characters? I like Vimes. And Carrot. And Angua, and Death, and Moist, and Rincewind... I guess Vimes tops the list, since it was Guards! Guards! that got me into the series, but... that is a tough one. In terms of this year? Flash. Arrow season 3 was very... unfulfilling- which is a shame, because I feel like it had a lot of potential and promise. Overall? It's... still actually kind of difficult to call. I like how optomistic and happy Flash is; by contrast, Arrow can be very Soap Opera-ey. It places too much emphasis on the romance, since none of the romances... really work for me. The only ones that did were Ollie and Sarah (which was doomed from the begining) and Ollie/Felicity in season two (which was mostly accidental, and then the writers used it to bludgeon season 3 to death). ...That said, I feel like Arrow's second season is still the best of either show, and I still quite liked season one... so I'm going to say Arrow. But the producers really need to step-up next year. Um... not yet, I'm afraid. But I commend you on your advertising, because I will go and check it out now! Donna Troy, on the condition that the show is produced by Hideaki Anno and Gainax. Taking a character whos defining characteristic is her convoluted, contradictory, retcon-filled backstory and giving full creative control to the guys who made Evangelion? The results should be interesting one way or another.
  7. Well. It looks like I'm facing an old man, so I'm not going to hit him. I don't seem to have any tools, and the only way to "Go" seems to be through him. so I'll "take" him with me. He hit me hard enough to cause an ouch, so I'm sure he'll be a valuable member of the party. I... have never eaten a quesadilla, actually.
  8. Chaos. TELL ME ALL OF YOUR SECRETS!
  9. FiMFlamFilosophy is great, but I find myself watching it more and more for the non-pony related shenanigans. Greg's lets plays with Raye, Peyton and Taylor are great.Besides that? Mostly I pick music from TV tropes to listen to while I write. And I'm waiting for the next part of Doctor Whooves and Assistant of course! I've been meaning to read some "Ask Pony" blogs, but I haven't had time. I find tumblr difficult to use. Besides that...fan fiction. Lots of fanfiction; right now, my main obsession is the Shadow Wars universe by Jordan179.
  10. Well, if you think that's cheating, just consider them as one item, and here's two more: 1) Brony charities 2) I like it because its mere existence is helping to break down the gender divide in society. At times, it can seem like MLP has been appropriated by male fans; but I think that that is untrue. There are a lot of female fans; even so, the fact men watching a 'girls' show is becoming cultural acceptable is huge for breaking gender divides and stereotypes.
  11. I suppose just naming ten characters would be cheating? 1) The show. Despite being written for kids, the morals are universal, the characters complex, and the themes interesting. 2) The comics, both main line and Friends Forever. They were the first things I read, and they veer more into comedy, which is fun. 3) FiMfiction. Obviously, Sturgeons Law applies, but there's some stories I really love, such as Flash Fog and Asylum (both available via TV Tropes). 4) The songs. "Smile, smile, smile ~!" 5) Mane Six. Again, the characters have a surprising amount of depth to them. (See: Rarity) And, personally, I find them very relatable, particularly (in my case) Twilight. 6) The Background Characters. The result of the fandom, many of them are just as interesting as the mane six...which is why they are getting their own episode. 7) Fan music. Again, check TV Tropes. Brony music is amazing. 8) Animations. An example? Lullaby for a Princess. 9) Doctor Whooves and Assistant. The amount of dedication that goes into it (and other audio dramas) is amazing. 10) Derpy Hooves. Because who doesnt love Derpy Hooves? Again, even beyond her character, I love her as a symbol of the fandom and what they can create. Hmm. Narnia. Son of Adam? Check. Instant-royalty! Though I'd love to visit Discworld and Nalthis. Colander. Yes, but not in this universe.
  12. ...huh. I never noticed that. Honestly, with Glys, my take is that its a variation of 'glyphs', which presumably would be important to a 'learned' order. Syl...only thing I could think of is a variation of "Still", which is ironic since she changes shapes and moves so often. Fairly tenuous links though.
  13. I remember reading somewhere that, apparently, people go up to George R R Martin a lot and tell him they're naming their kids after his characters. I hope to Celestia that I live long enough to see a whole generation of Daenery's, Joffrey's, Vasher's and Stick's.
  14. Red. Oh god... Red...
  15. Huh? With a title like that, you're just asking for a graniose answer, like "I have read everything on the internet. Twice". But the truth is, I haven't. I'll add it to the list though.
  16. WARNING: Some viewers may find the following meme disturbing.
  17. Um. I guess I win? Name 15 DC comics superheroes?
  18. Superman Halo, I guess? Not a fan of shooters to be honest. ...Or sports, so I'll say Ronaldo, because he's the name I recognise the most. The correct answer is- whatever company was responsible for designing Hot Rod's sweet Alt Mode. So ridiculous. Movies have their upsides; but if you mean in terms of adaptation? Books are always better. If they do, then I started a "thing". If they don't, I get to be unique. Either way, I win.
  19. Scadrian or Selian? (All Rosharan swallows are chickens of course.) Presumably wherever my parents decided to live instead...? Of course, if what you mean is where do I want to live... I've never really thought about it, to be honest. When I was younger, I used to think it would be amazing to live in America, but, considering this is the digital age, I don't need to live stateside to get a job writing comics. So I really have no idea. Right now, I've lowered my expectations to "I'll live wherever I can get a job".
  20. I must confess something: I have no idea what that is. And lo, did I toil across the interwebs and google, seeking for an answer. Having found one all I can say is: never tried it, probably not.
  21. Pony Vi- FOR THE LOVE OF- EDGEDANCER! Anyway, Pony!Vin. I'm curious about what was the more useful lesson imparted to her by pony!Kelsier; the magic of allomancy, or the magic of friendship. I feel empty inside a lot. And I eat a lot to fill the void isnide of me. ...So, yup, I guess so!
  22. ...So you didn't just ask "Where do you live"? For the record, I'm in the UK. Anyway, politics... is strange, because I feel (at least so far as the UK and US are concerned) there's both too much cynicism, and too much optimism. Politicans are really easy targets, given the amount of corruption and broken promises that seems to haunt that particular career; at the same time though, there are a lot of politicians who do try to make a positive difference, to the world in general and their constituents in particular. There are, I'm sure, many people who get into the civil service or run for office, not for monetary rewards or because they dream of becoming president, but because they want to make a difference, and tarring all politicans as corrupt, listless lying serpents does a real disservice to those who do want to do good, not to mention encouraging people who might otherwise be interested in a career like that to give up. At the same time... people can have unreasonable expectations, particularly whenever the man in charge of government switches seats. It's unreasonable to expect, say, Obama to do a 180 from Bush's politics overnight; that is just setting yourself up for disappointment and failure. Of course, it's disappointment and failure which politicians court, since their campaigns are always focused on how they will be different from the current guy, so they share some of the blame. So... politics are complicated, necessary, but often messy. And that's just on a theoretical level; if you start adding religious interests, race politics, trying to appeal to more voters, it becomes a literal quagmire. I feel sorry for the politicians who find themselves tymied in their efforts to create genuine reform. Nice try. "We are the Cutie Mark Crusaders On a quest to find out who we are And we will never stop the journey Not until we have our cutie marks!"
  23. So in shameles imitation of Brandons AMA a futile attempt to catch up to Kobold's rep count a pique of boredom, I decided... why not, might as well post this. So, as the title says... ask me anything! What's my favorite Brandon book, my opinion on the political system, who best pony is, whatever. I can't guarantee you a truthful answer; I can't even guarantee a good answer. But I can guarantee an answer to every question, and that's pretty much the same thing in the end.
  24. My guess is her talent is "erasing" things- wherher thats curie marks or vaporising bridges. After all, she said she needed magic to remove the cutie marks. Probably way off, though.
