The only tumblr stuff I've ever seen is the Sydney Scroungers stuff (through this site) and some "Ask Pony" blogs. I have no idea how, but I seem to walk between the raindrops of internet chullishness. Every online community I've ever been part of has been 99% awesome people.

For posting random thoughts in the random stuff thread.

Well...okay. Lately, Arrow hasn't been great; in fact, I will complain a lot about season three. However, season two was fantastic, and season one -while flawed- still had a lot of strong points in its favour. (I'll explain exactly what I liked about the series when I have more time- sorry! I can PM it if you prefer?) That said... Flash. Flash was GREAT this year. Yes, it had some stumbles, but overall, I really liked it.

Doctor Who?

I don't know what else shed be doing -it depends on whether you view Starlight as being the same age or older than the mane six- but I can easily imagine Starlight Glimmer as a tumblr social justice warrior.

Make it so, number one.

...ugh. Confession. When I was younger, I got really uncomfortable about the satanic gods and demons in Warhammer and 40K. I was going through a phase. I grew out of it. (Honestly, one army I've wanted to do for ages has been a heretical Sisters of Battle force, painted and themed around being devotees of Chaos rather than the Emperor.) I never felt bad towards LotR and Harry Potter though.

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!

Yeah. For "running". My poor spelling is not good for my self esteem lol -
Eh... Movies: Marvel TV: Eh... DC. I like Agents of SHIELD, but it can be sort of uneven, whereas Arrow and Flash are consistently good. Comics: DC.

New head canon. Zed looks so messed up normally because of a previous encounter with the Doctor. The tubes are a life support system keeping him alive after whatever horrible encounter he had with the Doctor. (Zed was in the Time War? Might explain why Zordon didn't have a physical body, if he was in the War too.)

Yeah, but if that's the case, where is the crossovers? I demand they air Forever Dalek this year!

One of you needs to change to Edgeworth and be unnecessarily confrontational and stuff. Epic cosnere legal dramas, please.

THIS. Seriously, the week that episode premiered, me and my friends kept making fun of those designs for that EXACT reason. I love how they spent an episode (and the cliffhanger the previous week) building up to those guys...and every episode since they've used the old models instead.

Haven't watched it, but... it's Studio Ghibli. I don't follow them as much as I used to, but I remember them being, basically, the anime-equivalent of Pixar. So the fact that they've done a good movie isn't exactly surprising. That being said, it's certainly shot up my "To Watch" list.

I knew the Cosmere had dragons, but it has trolls too? Brandon really is embracing all kinds of fantasy tropes.

I have bad school dreams constantly. Specifically, I have dreams that there is a class (usually religion, sometimes history), which I've missed throughout the year, sometimes because I skip the class, sometimes because my dreamself doesn't know where the classroom is and is too embarrassed to ask. Inevitably, I end up having an exam or essay that I don't know how to do. The odd part isn't that I (in real life) never skipped a class. Its not even the fact that lately, my "religion" class has been earmarked as "Whitecloaks" (that's the WoT religion, right?) The weird part is that the exams I'm taking are for GSCEs or A-Levels, and I've graduated from University. Its annoying.

Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!
Quiver replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
Sorry for general activity, everyone. I've been kind of out of it lately. I picked a bad time for it, what with Heirs dunning and all, but...yeah. Sorry. (Self pity is my version of ranting.) -
Short comment, I'll make a more in-depth reply later: At this point, I want to know whether or not the show has split off from the book's projected storyline. The series has made some sweeping changes which should render the books finale impossible- Stannis' story in particular- but I worry that the showrunners are only "adapting" it, in the sense that they will be taking a different journey but the destination is the same. I honestly don't mind if the show does go off into it's own storyline; Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 pulled that off. But I wish the showrunners would come forward and tell us if that's what their doing, because I really, really don't want to be spoiled for the end of the books, and I don't want to be spending the books wondering IF those events will be different from the shows.

Slight clarification: are you asking for more "hard" causes of super powers, or suggestions for super powers? Either way, you might be interested in Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregillis.

Partly a follow-up question to Anubis, partly a general one.. why do you think pop culture characterizes underworld gods like that? After all, it's hardly restrained to just Anubis. Hades is usually presented as the Big Bad of Greece in films and comics. Is it just a hang-over from Western religions, which associates the underworld with the Devil (and therefore EVIL) or do you think there is another reason for it?
