Uh. What's Flight Rising?

To be fair, Brandon's writing is a lot different from GRRM or (from what I've heard) Rothfuss. Their writings have a more...poetic style to them, a style where every word choice is careful, deliberate and for a reason. Brandon's prose is more functional and less obtrusive. Not necessarily less powerful- but I imagine not having to agonise over every sentence helps the first draft get done.

Does it also eat stormtrooper heads? (Oh please! They were playing the drums on stormtrooper helmets, and were ready to eat Han and Luke! We all know what happened!)

Youtube video, for anyone who can't get that link to work. Anyway... I'm... actually sort of looking forward to this. Rainbow Rocks was great, and that shot of Twilight and Sunset makes me hope that this movie will round off the Sunset redemption arc. I've been thinking for a while that it would be cool if the ending of this was a role-reversal of the first film, with Sunset saving this Twilight. I... hope ponies don't appear? Or only have a minimal appearance. But that's mostly because I want Sunset to be the lead this time around; she split that role with Twi in Rainbow Rocks, but with no Princess Twilight around, she seems like the most natural lead for the film, so...

So, I'm going to see this film later today with some friends; thought I'd open a topic and see if anyone else happens to see it or comment on it before I get back. So... pre-movie thoughts? Eh... I'm... kind of excited? i mean, I wasn't, but the fact that the commercials have started consisting of just James Cameron saying "this movie is awesom2 has me intrigued. I've actually managed to avoid most of the spoilers for the film, so that'll be fun. And... the movie is revisiting the original. And, in all honesty... I kind of prefer the original Terminator to T2 in some ways? Mostly because I like Kyle Reese as a character, so more of him -in any form- will be good. Personally, I'm kind of hoping they get some kind of reference to the Sarah Conner Chronicles in there. That was a great show, and I'm still rather annoyed that it got canceled, particularly since it has some of my favorite moments of television, period. (I'm not asking for much. Just have Kyle reference Derrick! That'll do!) So... yeah. Terminator 5, staring Daenery's Stormborn and the Doctor. This should be... interesting.

Robot Joe brings a Robot Swarm the day before Terminator 5 is released. Coincidence?

Heh. The Feather blades/tips were how I got introduced to your writings, and started my social forum reputation asthe most detestable traitor, so something fun came out of it. Hmm...speaking of your writings: in retrospect, with the benefit of hindsight (and because it is currently stalled), what did you honestly think of my reviews/commentaries for your fics and Sydney Scroungers posts? (Its how I review things now in general lol) Also, can I spam you with my MLP fan fiction?

...You know, it occurs to me that there's no rule saying you can't vote for Silverblade, just because he's the one running the thread. Juuuuust saying.

The terrifying thing is, I'm pretty sure if Feather had her way, we'd all be "upgraded" and the forum would be turned into a Renarin fansite.

No where around here sells the card game, or I would so... not play it, probably. CCG's are expensive. (Though I have been considering printing off the cards for Twilight Sparkles Shipfic Folder and giving that game a try) But... I am now tempted to buy a blindbag, just to see what character I get.

Yeah- but instead we have an episode where Vastra tried to shame Clara as being shallow because the Doctor is old now ("because Old People, Ew!"), and an episode where the Doctor tries hooking Clara up with a guy who looks like Eleven. Not to mention how a lot of Smith's interactions with Clara seemed... shippy? I'm not sure quite what the word for it would be- and maybe it's just my own skewed interpretation of the series- but it felt an awful lot like Moffat was trying to hint at Eleven and Clara as a couple. I definitely got more of a "Friends, just friends" vibe from Donna. As for Amy... Moffat ship teased the Doctor and Amy a lot too. It kind of died down in the season seven, but... well, as awesome as the "Last Centurion" speech she gave in season six was, it was obviously trying to make the audience think that the Doctor was Melody's father. Not to mention her making Rory dress as the Raggedy Doctor when they were growing up, and her flat-out kissing him after the Angels in season five. I liked Amy; I actually think she was one of the more interesting companions (at least in season five)- but there were a few romantic hints for her, too. It's why the idea of her, Rory and the Doctor as a "OT3" is a thing.

Much sympathies for the down-votes; I have't ever really spoken to you, so I can't comment on what you are like or your popularity or anything, but... ...Man, I don't know. I wish I knew why downvotes were handed out? In my case, I can think of maybe three or four downvotes I delivered to people, and all of them were accidents. Even if I vehemently disagree with someone's stance or view, I... don't see the point of annonymously giving them a red buttont? I mean, how passive aggresive can you get? If I disagree with someone, I'll be ACTIVE-aggresive! If there's something I disagree with (like a theory, or an opinion or something), I tend to either ignore it, or respond saying that I disagree, and explaining my point of view. I don't do that so much anymore- I need to reread everything to be able to comment properly- but that... seem's like a more reasonable way to do it? Inspire debate and exchange of ideas? It's like 17th Shard's number one feature! So... I really don't know why people randomly downvote things. The only time I've ever seen a -number beside one of my posts was for something I absolutely deserved (I basically badmouthed a piece of fiction and called for a forum wide riff on it, which was unprofessional of me, and something I'm still incredibly ashamed of). Upvotes are great as a short hand- I was super thrilled when the first magic system I posted here got upvoted for instance- but downvotes... I feel if you're going to downvote someone, you owe it to them to explain why you're doing it? So... I dunno. I'm sorry to you, and anyone else, who has had these random, inexplicable down-votes that come without explanation of what you did wrong or what the voter thought was so offensive. Sorry! (And seriously, the only reason I don't get downvoted more is because I stay in the Sandermeme section these days. I haven't posted something serious that was genuinely worth upvoting in quite sometime lol)

So... I've started listening to some of Tina Guo's music- she's the person who voiced Octavia during the 100th episode- and I came across this: OCTAVIA PLAYING RAINS OF CASTAMERE. Why hasn't anyone ponified this yet? (Also, she's good, and I recommend checking out her channel) ...I have been introduced to more great music through Pony than I'm quite proud of.
