  1. First, I have and still do hold the theory that Lesser Spren somehow comprise Shardplate. HOWEVER, reading through this thread brings to mind a question. How, if Plate is a manifestation of lesser spren, have the remaining sets hung around for so long without their Radiant? Blades make sense and have been explained in world well enough. Plate, however, is a completely different conversation. Lesser Spren would have needed to be bound eternally in that form. Essentially enslaved for thousands of years since their Radiant broke thier Oaths and discarded them. I feel like that would have been somehow noted by either the Stormfather or at least some of the Spren in Shadesmar.
  2. Let’s do this.
  3. The Lopen’s new arm is regrowing Storm’s Light, it is finally flowing The Ladies, they say YES, Lopen you may For we can all see you are glowing
  4. With ink and with chalk and with parchment she changes her face and her garments while no one can see the face underneath she gets famously drunk in the market
  5. Kal made a desperate journey to sate a deep seated yearning Syl at his side his parents abide For Roshone a well earned backhanding
  6. Damnation... My mistake folks, pardon my momentary Fancy. According to the Quiz, I am a Willshaper not a Bondsmith (though, It did come a very close 2nd.)
  7. Well, according to the Quiz, I am Willshaper. Bondsmith was a very close 2nd, however. And, I am NOT in fact Dalinar. I suppose I can come to terms with that.
  8. No need. Cephandrius and I have already spoken. Ahem....
  9. I get the impression that eye colour is more a quality of Value and not Shade of the colour... if that makes any sense.
  10. No no... No, that’s not me...
  11. Seriously. Have you ever seen the two of us referenced in the same scene?
  12. I was current with Stephen King at 9, Dean Koontz by 10 and Eddings just a few months later. Orson Scott Card and some other random authors tring to find something bigger. Got my hands on the ‘Twins’ books and didn’t really get into them. ‘The Eye of the World’ I got for my 12th birthday, I think, I was an Epic Fantasy addict from that moment forward. I see no reason to age limit books based on a perceived level of difficulty.
  13. I still need to read the E-Book or Printed Version, I guess. I didn’t get the uninterrupted experience I was hoping for with the audio and evidently missed more than I care to.
  14. I have a feeling that something unfortunate is going to happen with/during the wedding. That is why we didn’t see it in this book.
  15. I really like that she consciously recognizes that her personas are coping mechanisms. Even though she is using them to avoid painful memories and situations, she acknowledges, if only to herself, that that is what she is doing.
  16. ‘Gancho, can you stick ME to the wall?’ I guess I took Adhesion as more than manipulating Air Pressure and Vacuum. All manner of random and oddments suddendly become useful. Sticking things together seems sort of pranksterish a’la Syl, but functionally can be rather useful in any number of situations.
  17. Personally, I love cliffhangers. I mean REALLY LOVE them. I know, I have a sickness. But a big cliffhanger leaves me excited for what comes next. I guess I don’t mind the wait of 2, 4... ok 8 years is a bit extreme, but the wait between books doesn’t bother me. There is always something else to read. I may have been dissatisfied with other Character Arcs not going a bit farther, but I would have been perfectly content to leave Kaladin in the courtyard staring at Moash’s back.
  18. I feel like I am in the extreme minority here.. NONE of the characters that I have seen in Stormlight are anywhere close to capable of romantics. NONE OF THEM. If there is a Kaladin ‘Love Story’ or if Shallan and Adolin do not have massive failures in the next 2 books I am completely done with the Cosmere. Dalinar/Navani are possible.. POSSIBLE.. exceptions. There are entirely too many introspective problems for every single POV character for romace to happen. I hope that Shallan/Adolin and Dalinar/Navani are the farthest extent of romantic interaction in Arc 1 SA. Romance is a very bad thing for Addicts and people working through Depression. I know this is going to be a very unpopular post, but experience is the worlds best teacher.
  19. I still get chills when I read.. If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man. Powerful.
  20. Sort of like intentionally mispronouncing Chief in order to avoid the new responsibilities?
  21. I would like words. Like, a LOT of words... They should probably say stuff, coherently.. ish.. I'm not even that picky. It could just be a dictionary out of alphabetical order and I would do my best to try and make sense of it. OVER NINE THOUSAND K WORDS!!! Just for part one.
  22. Absolutely convinced of her own brilliance and has probably never met anyone capable of challenging her throughout the majority of her life. I would say that tends toward a Domineering, Self-Important and relatively inflated Ego.. But hey, she got it honest. Even Navani comments somewhere about her inability to jive with her daughter, even at a young age... Alienation does funny things to kids and their coping mechanisms are typically less than healthy. I Forgive Jasnah's lack of Empathy and Social Grace and Grant her 4 1/2 cool points because of these qualities.
  23. Tower. Hands Down. Dalinar and Adolin bith knew that they had been betrayed and that THIS was their last stand. And they kept fighting. This was for everyone else. They knew that this was their end and they kept fighting. When all else has failed and it come to YOU to continue the fight, knowing that your end has come regardless of the outcome... What will YOU do?
