Lopens arm began growing back because regardless of his japes and jokes, he never accepted the loss of his arm. Cognitive perception. It's why Kaladin still has his brands and the tattoo didn't stick.

It was notably mentioned, In Kharbranth, that the rock formations were patterned with Waveforms. Also, Kabsal's little demonstration with Cymatics. I assumed this was similar commentary.

I Lurk like a madman, but haven't posted in a few years until today. I am mostly here to read others thoughts. I cannot cheezburger well enough to put any of my theories into words. Cheetos!! Additional... I may or may not Necro Threads simply for the sake of Necroing Threads.

Rock's ability to see Spren - Semi-Sliver?
IllNsickly replied to Raevun's topic in Stormlight Archive
Im terrible at WoB and quote searching, but i remember reading something to the effect of or supposition that Horneaters aren't 'Human'. I just sort of took that as the reason. Now im waiting (relatively patiently) for Mr. Sanderson to fill in that bit of background.. Rock is in my top 3 favorite characters in SA. I really want to learn more about the Horneaters. Edit: Spelling, because... well, people should at least be able read my incoherence. -
Nonsensical bunnies are epic. They must always be worked in.

Surprised i havent seen it yet, but Stephen King, almost entire collected library of work. Not so much Fantasy as Suspense with a dash of horror and psychological. But, the overarching tale of The Dark Tower put him at the top of my list.

This was me in 1993 when i started WoT, i found SoT in 95 i think and ASoIaF in 96.. Eddings was my first foray into Epic Fantasy. I can read most anything these days, however, Mr. Sanderson is my favourite author actively creating in the last ~6 years.

Fair enough EmanEmal.. I choose only the rocks that cause Szeth to feel profane whilst walking upon..

I think my favourite Hoid moments are at the feasts when he is shelling out such awesome insults, perched on a stool and mid conversation.

Syl: "But I've helped men kill before."
IllNsickly replied to aheerema's topic in Stormlight Archive
I had to read this 3 times before i realized that it wasnt a reference to AoL.. hmm... However, i think its telling that Syl said 'I have helped MEN kill before' (my emphasis). This implies, to me, that Kaladin isnt the only person to have had her intercession.. When and who, i wont even speculate. Every time ive tried to theorize, ive been dead wrong. My pennies. -
I actually think that rocks are a valid object for this. I think Tien was REALLY on to something.

What about the Voidspren and Renarin
IllNsickly replied to Mileswasbestcharacter's topic in Stormlight Archive
I believe there is something wrong with Renarin. Somthing bad is going on there, and the only evidence that i have for it is this: After 2 books, we have yet to see a Renarin PoV, even though he is a proto-radiant and already has a spren. A Spren that NO ONE else sees, that strikes me as ominous as well. I think, at the very least, Rock would have noticed..... Edit for a spare thought.- 68 replies

Did he ask for the capacity to save the WORLD or HUMANITY? The distinction is pretty important, i think..

I think the 'ardent' was Shallan. With all of her Lightweavyness, i guess i never really questioned it..

I started reading Stephen King in 1989, after plowing through his collected works and then growing up a little, i reread the (current to 1993/4) Dark Tower works. I LOVE the connections that reward the Constant Reader. You dont need them, either Stormlight or Dark Tower. I havent read anything in the Cosmere outside of MB and SA.. Now i am making a point of it.. There was nothing in this book that i felt i was missing out on until i hit the forums after i finished WoR. Knowing the connections are there is a gift from Mr Sanderson. I appreciate them, because the much larger overarching story is what im looking forward to.

Let me start with, I like Renarin and i want to see him come into his own. I am not bashing him, not even a little. I am an extrovert, muchly. I make friends with people wherever people are. Introverts are a challenge to make friends with, but seeing them start to open up is kind of rewarding. But, it isnt just Vorinism that says seeing the future is of the Voidbringers. Lil Miss Syl says it too. When i read that part, it immediately struck me. If it was just Vorinism, i could just brush it off.. Syl said it too, though. I can't find the quote, but it was in WoK. I am sure i read it.

Szeth's Unique Aquisition (SPOILERS!!!!!!)
IllNsickly replied to Swimmingly's topic in Stormlight Archive
This thread it telling me in a very stern voice that the pieces of the cosmere falling on Roshar are rather large indeed. Evidently, i really need to read Warbreaker -
There is also that itty bitty issue of Kaladin being the one to kill Helaran. How will this come to light and how will Miss Shallan feel about it? This is my issue with Shaladin. I have an itch that says Kaladin either Flys solo or somehow he and Jasnah develop a relationship. However, all of my theories seem to have been smashed into paste with this book, so im probably wrong.

IMHO. The difference between the simple written word and Art is goosebumbs. I applaud Mr Sanderson and everyone who had a hand, finger or even 4 1/2 brain cells involved in the writing of Words of Radiance. I have had books give me goosebumps in the past, but NEVER like this one did. Thank you team Sanderson. Miles

Seems awfully specific and re-occurring info to just be 'The 1st Kaladin saved outside of Bridge 4'... A random bridgeman from another crew would have, i think been given only the most passing description in-book.. with no commentary on his complexion or lack of accent... he is someone special, i believe.

I think that evolution is too specific to environment.. Slight difference in gravity, oxygen and quantity of available elements in the earliest stages of evolution could have had DRASTIC effects a few thousand millennia down the road.. 'Similar' conditions at that point could have been different enough to create a completely unrecognizable race. However, i do like the thought of a race so close in Evolution that i could conceivably pass them on the street without a second thought. Makes my romantical side happy.
