  1. @Salkara Cheers. I know that i am taking it a bit far. But I still believe that it is going to be more involved than 'Just a few sniffles.'
  2. I am no Virologist, nor am I terribly educated. However, the Common Cold has existed on Earth for Eons. We have been living with and adapting to it since the moment we became a species. It is a minor inconvenience for us the vast majority of the time. On Roshar, they have almost no illness due to the nature of the Investiture present. Their immune systems have no idea what is going on, no experience fighting it. I think of it like a very young child or someone elderly with a compromised immune system. The entire population. This could go very, very badly.
  3. I have been lurking around the 17th shard for... I dunno, 5 or 7 years. Every now and then, I post or reply to something regardless of how wrong I usually am. Reading through the forums, I am constantly reminded of how woefully uneducated I am. Reasonably intelligent and uneducated, I see the barest hint of a theory turn into extreme extrapolations that I can barely follow. I love every minute of it. I have to wonder, though. How many ideas have Mr. Sanderson and other Writers have developed just reading through the Theorycrafting and supposition threads here. CHEERS!
  4. Perfectly SCREAMS that there is something of interest in the Purelake. I would very much like to go to the Purelake. Sommats awesome going on there.
  5. Thank you. I knew I had read it. Just not sure where.
  6. Well, they've been vexed but good by Dun Makek with a 'Plague' of the common cold (courtesy of the 17th Shard) as well. I am sure they are in a right state.
  7. A genuine Laugh out Loud just happened.
  8. I suppose that's fair. She does give every appearance of being awfully clinical, though. Also, no one outside of Hoid knows she is alive. It could be calculated based on some knowledge she gained in the cognitive ream.
  9. I'd have to go through the Mraize chapters again, but I sort of remember him being a bit more formal.
  10. OOOHHH!! The 9 Shadows could fit with either Taln or ?Jezrien. Taln being the only Herald who was sent back, the others would be the Shadows. ?Jezrien, or whichever of the Heralds who ultimately made the decision to walk away from the Oathpact, the other nine being his Shadows. Taln fits that better though.
  11. And we do have an apparent sighting of Demoux in Urithiru. The Bouncer with the noted scar. The 17th Shard keeping close to the Alethi while looking for Hoid does make sense.
  12. From the Origin?
  13. @Dahak Well, Urithru is sort of the center of everything with consideration to Oathgates. Perhaps it takes the combined notes of the other Dawncities, a Chord if you will, to create it's pattern.
  14. Except possibly the ardent(?) couple we saw in an interlude. The folks studying spren, at any rate. And yar, the Blade has had it's name for Eons. I may have been drinking, I had to double check that I hadn't misspoke about it.
  15. damnation, I put this in the wrong thread. A bit much to drink. My apologies
  16. I really have trouble with the idea of the Parshendi being the Voidbringers. It feels way too convenient. 'Here's a handy dandy scapegoat! Use this one!!' They are obviously treated as lower class and understandably, more than a few are extra mad about it. I am probably wrong about this, just like every other theory I have, but Parshendi/Parshmen as The Voidbringers just doesn't sit right with me.
  17. @The One Who Connects Cheers. I'm not up to scratch on WoB,
  18. I dig it. Really, I do. His wounds are Spiritual. When Kaladin healed his arm after Szeth's little slash, there was a barrier. He had to force the Stormlight through something. It didn't simply heal him as it does with... shall we call them 'Mundane' wounds. He had to use some pretty solid mental gymnastics to return his arm to his image of it. Body, Mind and Spirit must all agree on it in order for Stormlight to correct it.
  19. So, now we must speculate upon Hobber's state of mind. He has an unfortunately small appearance on screen.
  20. Ummm... Dalinar BONDED THE STORMFATHER. Combine that with his Blade named Oathbringer and how is this even a question. Navani transcribed it, though.
  21. Adolin, whether independently or through an Elsecaller, revives the Spren that is his Shardblade. However, because of internal things, submits to Odiums influence. So far, he is the only character talented enough to challenge Kaladin.
  22. Imagine for a moment that you are a Herald. Honor has given you a Sword that gives you Deific abilities and tells you that YOU are the barricade between 'Humanity' and Eterninty. (Humaity used as a correlate) Think for another moment about the 'Ninety and Nine' battles that you have fought while bound to the Oathpact. When you find out that only ONE of you died in a Desolation and you abandon your Honorblade and subsequently the Oathpact; Would you keep silent about the things that you know? The things that you have endured between Desolations? The fires, the torture, the flaying, the HORROR? The Recreance can be laid directly at the feet of every Herald besides Taln. He was the dead one and therefore blameless.
  23. I feel an Elsecaller will be capable of connecting with a 'Dead' Spren and reviving said Spren. With Syl and Pattern, we see that Spren transitioning to the Physical Realm are Dumb and only slowly come to sentience. This seems very important in the Recreance Era Spren conversation. If they lose that much crossing realms and are able to recover, then a Surgebinder with the ability to enter Shadesmar can potentially Resurrect a dead spren.
  24. Every time someone who is bonded with a Spren touches the Blade of a dead spren, they hear screaming. Yes, torture for the Spren to summon their Blade.
