  1. Yeah, locations are meant to change infrequently. That way there is some lasting value to location info, but having your location known isn’t guaranteed to get you killed or whatever. Correct. The reasoning for this is that the allomantic abilities lose a charge if they fail, and I wanted that to mostly be a penalty for incorrect guessing, not a location change happening at the last minute. I am still thinking about this. One thought I had was that the elims have both a faction scan and a faction kill, but have to choose which one they use. Or, maybe just give them both. I do want any faction kill to be dependent on location, because I want there to be a significant risk behind the village trusting players with their actual location. The benefits of only having elim Coinshots is that villagers who lie well about their location can potentially cripple the elims. Perhaps a Coinshot spike could function as a passable Coinshot role among the elims, acting as both a faction kill but with the other restrictions of a Coinshot. Depending on the distribution, not sharing any information could disadvantage the village. But I don’t honestly think this will be an issue in the current PM meta. Or the current meta in general. Hopefully the folks that sign up for this game would be ones hoping to take advantage of it’s mechanics. But, a game with crazy rules turned vanilla isn’t the worst thing to ever happen to a GM around here. Thanks for the feedback! I’ll definitely change the elim faction abilities, and put some thought into incentivizing sharing locations a bit more.
  2. Good game everyone! Thanks to @Kasimir and @Wyrmhero for running things. This game did feel a bit more chill than the recent LGs, which I appreciated. I think the game and teams were quite well balanced. If things had played out slightly differently, we could have had a 3-3 election cycle, which would have been fun. I think collectively we as elims could have put a bit more thought into finding @Matrim's Dice, but I'm not sure we could have done it reliably. I think we'd mostly boiled it down to Szeth/Steel/Mat, but like Kas pointed out, I at least was biased toward earlier events (also I got a little burned out rereading the thread, and skipped the last 8-10 pages). Overall, I really enjoyed playing with my team. Everyone was active enough and willing to go for some fun plays. Kinda would like to be village with Fifth again at some point, but it seems like I'll be trying for a record elim streak again. This makes 3, maybe Kas can stick to his old RNG if I decide to play his QF.
  3. I figured as much :P. I sort of trust Fifth. I'm not sure. Elim!Fifth could have proposed a winning plan for the village that started off with getting an elim elected, so that people would avoid the obvious path to victory, and still give the elims a free person on the council. I do very much like his thought process behind the plan, though. I'm still going to stick to my guns unless someone I really don't trust ends up leading things.
  4. I am going to vote for Fifth for WL. And I agree with Fifth on Striker, who has taken some concrete action to help the village, whereas it's a bit harder to tell with other people. In particular, if one of Archer/Biplet is elim, then Striker is almost certainly village. If Striker is somehow elim, then Archer and Biplet are likely both village (the hammer would be a ploy to gain trust here). I think I've ended up just restating Fifth's post from above, but Striker/Bip/Archer should only contain 1 elim at most, so we just elect all 3 and win. Fifth is the WL candidate since he isn't any of the three people from above, which means there won't be any weirdness where we want the WL to vote for themselves but they can't. And I like his plan, since I can pretty much reach the same conclusion on my own. I'd also like to request that Striker remove his vote from Archer if Striker wants to get elected this turn. That will make a switch later on less likely, if he is comfortable with this plan of attack.
  5. But if there is only a single elim in the inactives, we have basically no chance of actually electing them. Last cycle there was almost certainly a single elim that voted for Elandera, possibly more. And some of the rest likely voted for other players to distance themselves. We can also look at people who didn't vote last cycle, but did C1. Szeth, Dannex, Lotus, TUO, Ash, Liranil, Illwei, and Biplet didn't vote for the election last cycle. Of these, Szeth, Lotus, and Biplet all voted for the election C1, so there's potentially something to go on there. Biplet voted for WL last cycle, so she wasn't totally inactive. I know this is somewhat repeating myself from last turn, but I think we should elect Biplet. She was around last cycle, but didn't vote either to secure the Elandera election or to gain credit by joining another train. There might be someone else that fits this profile, but she's the only one I can see from the votes. I'll put Mat as WL. I don't have any super strong trusts, but we don't want to pick an inactive for this and he seems like a solid bet.
  6. I'm going to vote for Biplet for worker leader. She stands out as the only person that voted for Tani but not for TJ. Seems to me like elims would want to avoid sticking out, althought I'm still not sure how elims would try and play this game. My experience with Resistance hasn't helped me figure things out at all. I'll vote Elandera for the election. She voted for TJ, and despite the elims easily being able to bus this game, I think the votes on TJ are the best place for us to look. Also, other people seem to support Mat, who supports Elandera, so that makes me feel a bit better about this vote. I should be around again before rollover to change my votes if necessary by then. Current vote counts are pretty low, so it would be nice if some other people throw out their opinions before cycle end.
  7. Hey everyone, sorry for my low activity. I was in a tennis tournament over the weekend and also needed to prep for a class I teach that started today. Should be back to my regular activity levels by later this afternoon.
  8. So, first of all, making a list like that based off of an off-handed comment a revealed eliminator made seems counterproductive. Especially Illwei, who is an unrepentant troll. There's also the issue where, if by some insane chance Illwei was being honest, that the person in the doc just wasn't in the Shard. And even if Illwei was both being honest and the person in the doc was also online, one elim in 11 people is worse odds than the starting ~1/5. I posted somewhat early in the cycle saying that I would change my vote the next day with the intent to consolidate. And then I did that (after a failed attempt, but that was partly your fault ).
  9. Okay, I'm going put my support behind Striker and Fifth. Not too much behind these votes, but I'm a little uncomfortable with the early push for Striker. Still, the reasoning behind the votes on him is decent, so that's why I have him for WL. And Fifth already put Striker as WL, so I like his thinking there. Szeth feels a little overeager to me. I'm not sure what to make of that.
  10. My thought process last cycle was to bump someone from 1 vote up to 2, in order to create kill pressure. But I was working off of Matrim's vote count, since the thread was really long, and apparently that was somewhat flawed. I was trying to concentrate votes on you, I just failed. As for Drake, I think I mentioned him as a candidate for my second vote at some point, and I think that's all I said about him. Until I go back and look at Illwei's posts, my vote is on Ashbringer. Those lists look like smoke and fluff to me. They don't actually help, in my opinion, but they are an attempt to look helpful.
  11. Illwei=Badwei, Badwei=Deadwei. And Beedle is retiring early, most likely.
  12. Hey! Listen! I put full responsibility for this one you. And I'm going to switch from Azmine to TJ. I'm as confident as I've even been D1 that TUO is village, and I find it suspicious that anyone would stick to a vote on him for this long.
  13. Okay, so I'm going to change my vote from Ashbringer to Azmine. I mentioned consolidating votes in my last post, and going off of Mat's VC, that doesn't leave a ton of options. I read TUO and Illwei as being their normal selves. I pretty strongly disagree with what TUO's plan is, but I also think it's exactly what he would do as a villager. Similar thing with Illwei, although my disapproval is a bit less strong. Two of the folks with votes are new, and TJ already has 2. So that leaves Azmine and Drake, with Drake being more active than Azmine.
