  1. I'm pretty sure it must be related to my skill of flying under the radar. I've now become so specialized at being stealthy that it has unconsciously taken over my voting behavior.
  2. Yeah, you got me. And I suppose since Quinn and I were both elim that game, you and I must both be evil right now. Which of course means that you are just trying to distance yourself from me, and there isn't really any threat of you pushing for my death this cycle .
  3. Last time I tried to give any justification C1, a wild Quinn went for my throat (and she was even on my team...). The main motivation was that you already had a vote and I wanted to start making some pressure.
  4. I’ll put a vote on Matrim before I get too worried that this post isn’t long enough. I’m personally aiming for 18 boxings per cycle, which comes out to 2 RP posts, 5 analysis posts, and the regular stuff. I won’t try and write posts beyond those at longer than 200 words deliberately..
  5. @DrakeMarshall I'm trying to do something a bit similar with my LG ruleset, since every role is conditional upon knowing information about the target. If that game runs well, this sort of SK role might fit in well during a rerun.
  6. I think the random worldhopping has some potential. If you keep the planet abilities as they are, even adding a chance of failure, players would likely just hop 1-2 extra times until they end where they want. I think for best results you want something that either encourages players to spread out somewhat evenly (you probably want to rethink some of the bonuses the planets give in this case), or (like the random mechanic your proposed) that forces a roughly even distribution. Because players clustering in the same doc kinda removes the point of restricting game discussion from the thread.
  7. At first glance, I think Thaidakar's (and maybe Demoux's) ability should be optional. Otherwise it would be rather easy for the village to find Thaidakar, at the expense of also losing Demoux. Giving the village an easy 1-1 trade isn't the best for balance, I think. I'd also say the planet abilities could use some work, depending on what your intentions are for them. As things are, likely everyone would jump to Roshar C1 to get all their PMs, and then go to Nalthis to not die, and then somewhere else if they return. Depending on how settled you are on what's already here, I would suggest trying to design your game primarily around the core mechanic of the world docs (if this is, in fact, what you want to be the main feature of your game). The game might become more interesting if worldhopping is somehow limited.
  8. I'll join in as Sweeper, a lowly cleaner of the political chamber building.
  9. This is roughly the list for LGs, I think (I just copied the list above and removed Elandera): @Elbereth - KKC, unlikely but possible? @Sart @Experience @Ventyl @Straw Maill - doubt @Mist @Young Bard Kasimir - doubt @Araris Valerian With the last LG over a few days ago, we should probably try and get signups posted in the next few days if possible.
  10. I agree... kind of. The problem was really more that there were multiple such mechanics in this game. There is certainly something to be said for an elim role that has a very high likelihood of being revealed toward the endgame. Also, and I said this in the dead doc, I think we as a community need to think a bit harder about choosing to include vote manip roles in our games. I'm not sure if they are standard on other mafia sites, but they seem rather prolific here, likely due to the Rioter/Soother roles in the OG rules. An elim with vote manip essentially allows them to end the game a turn earlier than otherwise, which is often compounded by village inactivity. Given that we've had somewhat smallish games recently, I'm not sure that we need mechanics to make games end even faster. Also, the recent trend has been for more elim victories, and I think including vote manip in an elim team needs to take this into account. In my 4-game elim streak just a few games back, I think at least two of them ended with some sort of combined vote-manip and hammer to end the game prematurely.
  11. I had a blast playing, so thanks @Elandera, @The Unknown Order, and @Devotary of Spontaneity for running things! The rules could definitely use some polishing, but that had plenty of talk in the dead doc, and I think I’ll wait to hear final thoughts from Elandera before I comment more. @Archer, I loved your RP character this game. Thanks for the smiles! My team was awesome, and in particular Vonnegut had an excellent showing as a first-time elim (which I totally ruined by forgetting to make an offering to the Gods of Luck and Chance). I hope you stick around for some more games! Also, this game marks the first time I read my GM PM too fast and missed my role (I saw Silver Bones but not Shade Expert). Some of my mild pessimism in the elim doc would likely have been mitigated had I not made that error :/. Despite it being very much my fault, I do think GMs should post all elim player and role info in the elim doc before the game starts, since a game could potentially get rather imbalanced by someone making a similar error.
  12. No, Randby was holding it, and items of people that are voted out are distributed to the voters.
  13. I actually got the spellbook from the D1 vote, rather than starting with it. So the distro doesn't have to be too crazy for me to be village.
  14. Obviously the most reasonable explanation is that somehow we've traveled to an alternated universe where I am, in fact, an elim. Since that is so improbable, it seems unreasonable to expect anything else to make sense. Also, PM Safety guys. That seems to be another root cause. Maybe people are actually capable of practicing it in this alternate reality.
  15. @Illwei, I bestow upon you Arenta's grouchiness, for whenever people are being just plain dense.
  16. I've updated the rules for my PM Unsafety LG: link. The main change involved limiting the uses of all abilities, and changing the location abilities, taking inspiration from One Night Werewolf. I'd love to hear any feedback. The goal of these rules is to explore the current meta of PMs in the community by forcing players to share information to be able to successfully use their roles.
  17. Wait, isn't Danforth immune to insanity? Danforth is an elim that isn't currently dead or insane (or me, if you believe the rumors around camp).
  18. I mean, if everyone believes it, it must be true, right? Just trying to play the part .
  19. Maybe elim!me cashed in the prayer to the Gods of Luck and Chance that Alvron owes me
  20. I think there is a very compelling reason to think that there were at least two Crossbows. Without multiple Crossbows, the Shades mechanic essentially guarantees that at least one elim is revealed over the course of the game. Also, y'all seem to think it's reasonable for the elims to have Silver Bones. That fits with multiple potential kills floating around. Also, why would elim!me do an action scan? I was honestly expecting to die, but it seems like it would have made more sense for me to have sent in the kill. Edit: It appears that the elims killed Pizza, Dannex killed Vonne (a far better choice than me, I might add), and the Shades killed Dannex.
  21. I suspect that's a mistake. @Elandera, is the info part of the writeup complete?
  22. Well, it seems that someone is a better shot than me, in multiple senses. I, unfortunately, tried to do an action scan and went insane. So I won't be able to do much except watch as you all murder me again. (not that I would have been able to do otherwise to begin with)
  23. I have something I'd like to say on the matter, but it would be entirely unhelpful for me to put it out in the open. So in the interests of instead being helpful, is there anyone who believes that there is a reasonable chance that I'm being honest? The last LG boosted my confidence in my ability to do last minute vote swings, but unfortunately the circumstances are slightly less favorable here.
  24. Hmm. I haven’t really payed a ton of attention to the arguments made against him. But better him than me, for sure. Szeth.
  25. Noun: Sword Verb: Betrayed Adjective: Sneaky
